    We had no fries
    Ashley J.

Well it started off great, but for $8 fries I would have thought I could get my extra dump. Then I made it home to see how my burger was smashed and all sort of messy. I'll just have to revisit the on on Government. This was sad. Nice staff but poor 5guys work ethics. I know I worked here before and had the best supervisor in the world. They couldn't handle Ms. Nell.

    Bonus Peanuts!

Wanted a burger and with Whataburger embracing the latest Covid hysteria and having drive thru only we opted for Five Guys, since they are notoriously slow at drive thru. Ordered 2 small cheeseburgers, medium Cajun style fries, and two drinks. Had to get regular size drinks as no large cups available. Kaitlyn (according to the receipt) was polite and pleasant as she took our order. Burgers were fresh and hot as always, Cajun fries were plentiful and over seasoned (I didn't think that was possible, but it is). A little taken back by the $25 for the lunch, but prices are posted and I do have that Mobile County Public School diploma, so I could have added it up and not been surprised. We elected to eat in since we had the little drink cups and I could foresee multiple refills with the mounds of salty fries. It also allows me to snack on those wonderful roasted peanuts. Walked up and asked Kaitlyn (again, according to the receipt, I hope that's really her name) for some napkins, she shyly smiled and handed me several paper towels off the roll in the cooking area, while apologizing sheepishly for the absence of napkins. Not sure who orders the paper products, but I am guessing they called in sick this week, cups and napkins are typically available in restaurants. This was just plain bad planning on someone's part. One of four employees was wearing a mask, if that bothers you. I can't really complain because the complete lack of consistency in Covid rules and regulations has left all of us confused, and I am just irritated at this point. I got the shot, let me eat in peace. Five Guys food was as always, the best in the fast food biz, the absence of cups and napkins was weird, don't they sell paper napkins across the street at WalMart? Just sayin' that's not really a luxury when you sell juicy burgers, and surely SOMEONE could grab a twenty from the register and go get some napkins, if the owner has an issue with that he/she/they could climb down from the ivory tower and drive their ass on down and bring some to the restaurant. With as many locations as in Mobile, at least one location should have a few to loan out.

    Peanuts while you wait.

What a friendly welcome! When ordering burgers please note the lil burger is a single patty but full size. You can choose from a long list of "fixin's" to adorn your burger between the sesame seed buns. Fries are hand cut. I suggest you get Cajun seasoning on the side should you choose it. I didn't care for what they called Cajun mix. This is based on growing up on the TX LA border. All food is made to order so while you wait enjoy some complimentary salted peanuts.

Pretty good burgers, the meat was under seasoned and the fries were also under seasons. The the patties were slightly over cooked making it the beef patties dry. I've had better in the past but at a different state.

And just so we're clear, their chicken salad, served in many different ways, is absolutely FANTASTIC. You have lots to choose from, with chicken salad being the star of any show. If you fancy a sandwich, then you have plenty of options, ranging from croissant to toast and more. If you'd like your lunch as a scoop of chicken salad or other with some crackers, fruit, and/or veggies, then you're in luck. I'd suggest the Chicken Salad BLT (I did mine with fruit & nuts), served on toasted wheat and sidled up to a veggie cup. The sides are what you'd expect: mac 'n cheese, pasta salad, slaw, etc. or maybe a bag of chips. All of that is accompanied by a sugar cookie, and cookies make pretty much everything better. The freshness is there with everything. It doesn't have a pre-made taste, the fruit & veggies are crisp, and the sweet tea is just right. Even the service is first-rate, with someone actually asking to bus our table (it's so not expected) and we even got an extra cookie for a finicky kiddo. It feels and tastes like home, from a clean dining room (and restrooms!) and the service to boot. Great spot!

We called immediately, and instead of a simple refund, they told us we'd have to drive 30 minutes back to the store with the receipt just to get our money back. So you take my money, don't give me the item, and refuse to refund it unless I waste more gas than the item costs? That's not a policy. That's theft. To top it off, they were out of all chicken salads (at Chicken Salad Chick, seriously?), the bread was stale, and nobody ever followed up after promising the owner would reach out. There was no resolution offered to make it right. Just a weak apology and a ridiculous demand that I drive back. After how I was treated, I won't be back.

I like Zaxby's…read more This isn't my first time here, but it was my first time trying this Fried Chicken Philly. After working all day, I was quite hungry, and decided to eat here after picking up and delivering an order from here. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and unlike other places in the area, they seem to enjoy what they're doing. They're always pleasant to deal with. That Fried Chicken Philly caught my eye on the menu when I was doing my pickup, so I knew that was what I wanted. I ordered and seated myself in one of the small two person booths in their well-lit, ultra clean seating area. I poured myself an Arnold Palmer, trying to gauge the perfect mixture of ice, lemonade and tea. I succeeded magnificently. It wasn't long before my food was ready, and I was digging into it. When I opened the container, the sandwich was bigger than what I expected it would be. Since my doctor put me on the Ozempic diet, my appetite has been less than half of what it used to be, so I was almost sure this was going to be divided between late lunch and dinner. But as soon as I bit into that thing, I knew there wouldn't be anything left for later. The peppers and onions were seasoned just right, and were grilled to perfection! The bun was also grilled to it was crisp without being dry, and the chicken was simply juicy, crisp, and quite tasty. I tried one of the fries, and it was also cooked and seasoned to perfection. I have to limit carbs, so I rarely eat more than a fry or two, but it was a good fry. I'll definitely come back here. Like I said, it wasn't my first time, and this definitely won't be the last. Of the Zaxby's locations in our area, this is definitely the best one. A perfect experience.

By the time we arrived, a bit after 6:30 pm, the chicken and dumplings were sold out. We ordered chicken fried chicken (which came with 2 sides) and a fried shrimp salad, (a dinner-sized) green salad topped with lightly fried shrimp and lots of croutons. While it took a bit of time before the food arrived, portions were quite generous, and the food was tasty. My husband said the potato salad and slaw were both on the sweet side, but he enjoyed them and the fried chicken. Service was very friendly. Payment is at the front counter, and there's a small surcharge for anything other than cash. After seeing reviews of this restaurant on Yelp and elsewhere, I thought it might be a good choice for us. I'm glad we went.

The chicken was fabulous the sides were as expected, only set back is the mac and cheese is not as good as the rest, but everyone needs an Achilles heal, and perfection would just spoil me. Luck was on my side as Chris was our server again, that guy is tops. We had no complaints at all, did over hear a conversation at the next table where he had to substitute pot roast for an entree that was sold out (after checking with the customer for the sub) and he took that off the bill. Customer requested he not because he was so helpful, but he made another excuse and did it anyway. That my friends is why I tip him so well, (he got more on this 43 buck meal than the gal on my 175 tab last night, and she didn't get shorted) he is a super star and makes the visit better just by being himself. I hope his folks know how he is outside of home and are proud. Somebody raised him well. Bottom line, if you are looking for great home style cooking and no dish washing, this little gem is the spot. We used to get take out but with the service we receive why bother washing plates. Highly recommend. As you can see my newly added picture has a bite out of my chicken, I couldn't wait.

We finally had to put the car in reverse and back out because nobody ever took our order or even spoke to us. I went inside because I was picking up breakfast for my coworkers, only to be told the drive-thru "was working," but they were too busy with online/to-go orders to take drive-thru orders. If that's the case, at least acknowledge the customers sitting there waiting. A simple "Sorry, we're delayed" would have gone a long way. On top of that, the employees were not friendly at all and incredibly slow. Standing inside watching them, nobody even seemed to be making food. Everyone was just kind of wandering around looking at each other in slow motion while customers waited. The lack of urgency, communication, and customer service was honestly unbelievable. You can see in the photo they're not making food. They're standing on and talking. I will not be returning. This is one customer they finally lost.

It is heading and shoulders above competitors like Subway, Firehouse Subs and ithers and I think it bears mentioning that since I travel a lot for work, I appreciate the consistency from location to location. This can only be attributed to the excellent training they give to their franchisees. I placed an order for delivery through the app and it was delivered at the promised time. The location itself has the similar ambiance of other Jersey Mike's. I had their Big Kahuna cheesesteak and it was good. This is one of my go-to sandwiches. The other would be their Italian. I would definitely recommend this particular Jersey Mike's.

Younger me would have gone with salami, sausage, or something with a little more kick, but older me likes a little less spice. So I'm always searching for a great cold sub in my area, and since we don't have Port of Subs, I have been experimenting with Jersey Mike's. I pick up food there quite often when I'm working, and the staff is friendly and fantastic to work with. They always have the order ready, and are always cheerful and in a good mood. The place is always clean, well lit, and quiet, even when it's busy. It always seems cozy and inviting when I come in. So recently, I made it a point to have lunch there, and gravitated toward the roast beef and provolone sub. I looked at the sizing chart, and decided that the giant size might be a bit much, and so I opted for the regular. Now, unlike other sandwich places who pre-portion their meats and cheeses, I absolutely adore that everything is freshly sliced specifically for your sandwich, and they seem particularly generous with the portions, which is definitely a bonus. A good sandwich should always be thick enough to be a challenge to consume, and Jersey Mike's doesn't disappoint in that manner. That being said, every single thing on my sandwich was absolutely fresh and full flavored, from the mayo, to the onions and tomatoes, both of which were crisp and delicious. The roast beef is hearty, and well balanced with a great taste, the bacon is crisp and not overly salty, the provolone also has a very good flavor and gives the sandwich that little extra something. I paired this sandwich with an Arnold Palmer, because I've become quite adept at mixing iced tea and lemonade. Turns out this complements roast beef quite well! I've had this for lunch a couple times now, and it's filling, tasty and worth every penny. There is a possibility that this will be my new go-to cold sandwich, and I'm sure I'll be having it again soon. I can't wait!!
