Edd's Drive-In is a long-standing business in Pascagoula, Mississippi. I am a huge fan of the concept of a drive-in. The drive-in is such a slice of Americana and reminds me of generations gone. The concept of the drive-in grew with America's love of cars and there is something so cool about going to a drive-in. To be clear, Edd's Drive-In does not have car hops, you go wait in line outside a window, buy the food is still what you would expect. The menu is burgers, fries, hot dogs, milk shakes and the like. I went with a double chili cheeseburger and a chili dog. Both were good, but not great. The price was five dollars for the double chili cheeseburger and about three dollars for the chili dog. I will say that the place was pretty busy, so obviously, the community of Pascagoula, Mississippi lives this place. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend Edd's Drive-In. read more

Wow. Loved my burger from here so much. This is not a "craft" burger, not a fancy burger. This is a good ole burger in a bag like you used to have back in the day. Delicious. Be prepared to wait a bit, because there's always a line. Now I can see why!! Price is just right. Took off one star for no onion rings on the menu, which is fine--just a hangup I have. The real reason to stop in Pascagoula, MS...Edd's Drive-In. We pulled up about 2:30PM on a Saturday afternoon. There were about 12 to 15 people standing around and I thought oh no. We are going to have to wait forever. Well, all had ordered and were waiting so we got to order quickly. We ordered a burger with mustard and onions, a chili dog with mustard and onions, an order of fries and a soda. Total cost about $12. We waited about 5 minutes and our name was called. Couldn't wait to open that bag and dig in. It was another In-Car Dining experience and it was perfect. We split each item and there was plenty of everything. We couldn't decide on which was better the burger or the dog. The burger was cooked as we asked, well done but not dry. It came with the right amount of condiments and the bread was toasted on the grill...perfection. That little crunch made it special. The hot dog was a beautiful mess. The chili had the best taste and the dog was not too soft. The bun seemed to have been steamed but maybe not. However, it is one of the best I have had outside of North Carolina. I will put it up there. Will probably have another on my way back to Atlanta. The staff was as friendly as could be. Got the order perfect. And the price was very reasonable. This is a good place for a quick bite. It's older, and well loved. The burgers are very small, but so are the prices. Cooked when ordered, it didn't take long for hubby, Gus the dog, and myself to get burgers and shared an order of fries. I'm not a crinkle fry fan but I did try them. They were hot, and cooked well in clean oil. All in all it's worth the stop. read more

This is my favorite burger. If you have never had an Edd's chili cheese burger then you are missing out.

First, the good things: The sign and exterior are super cool, and the community has a deep-rooted fondness for the restaurant. An elderly customer shared his memories of eating there when he was a teenager. People happily waited in line for their food -- most people were getting ice creams and shakes. This is clearly a local icon, and I hope they have many more years in Pascagoula. The not so good: The food is not that great. It's actually pretty disappointing. The presentation is an absolute disaster, and it's way too little for the price. I took the good advice of Yelpers and ordered two hamburgers but could have easily eaten three or four. The burgers are about the size of the cheapest McDonald's hamburger, in both diameter and thickness. I ordered the cheeseburger with everything on it (mustard and onions), along with the chili cheeseburger, chili cheese fries, and a hot fudge shake. The cheeseburger was by far the best. Very simple and old-fashioned, but the mustard almost overwhelmed it. A double or triple-meat cheeseburger might have been better, but the meat seemed rather flavorless, and the whole thing had a squashed appearance as if it had been sat on. Don't expect lettuce, tomato, or fresh buns here. The chili cheeseburger was a disappointment. It was messy without the yummy that usually accompanies such fare. I wouldn't order this again. The chili cheese fries were ok but sauce distribution was lopsided, and the whole thing appeared to have been tossed around a bit before being placed in the bag. I really don't care for the chili taste. I might try just cheese fries if I ever return. The hot fudge shake tasted pretty much as you expect a chocolate shake to taste. Nothing special. It was good. I will probably give these guys another try as the drive-in is so nostalgic and cool. Maybe I just caught them on an off day. But I was pretty disappointed by the whole experience. Then again, I paid somewhere around $12 for my meal, which isn't much, so I guess it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't great like I expected. read more

Better than it has even been; but don't order ahead. If you do you will still have to go through the customer line to pay. By then your food will not be fresh as they cooked it ahead. And eat the fries on the way home. They don't travel well. Fair prices read more

Ed's is a local tourist favorite around here. I can't count how many times I've ate there. We do love to eat here and usually have great service. Tonight we stopped by because we happened to be leaving Wayne lees and it was convenient. There was a big line of people waiting for their food and it was about 8:30pm when we got there. The lady at the counter told us that they were closing because of termites flying around. I don't think they close until 9 usually on weekends. It was very embarrassing that they had the window open and had served everyone there and we came up and they refused service. We ended up having to go home and drop off ice then get in the truck and go to sonic instead. read more

I tried Edd's the other day for the first time since living in Pascagoula for the last five years, and was so enchanted by my picturesque order of a cheeseburger, fries, and drink that I had to take a picture of it. (Foodstagramer here, admittedly.) This place is absolutely amazing. Everything came out fresh and super hot. The burger was juicy, well-dressed, and worth every single calorie that was lurking within the meal. (Maybe about a squillion. Don't worry about healthy choices at Edd's.) I certainly plan to convert others who are visiting or have never tried this place the next time I'm in the mood for some fast food. Soooo I've frequented Edd's since my childhood and it never disappoints buuuutttttt tonight was a different story. The staff was super friendly and they had a runner bringing food to your vehicle BUT even though my order was read back to me correctly by the cashier AND the gentleman who brought my food to my vehicle, when I got home to eat dinner with my wife not only was the order incorrect but we were missing items that we paid for and were on our receipt. I'm giving two stars, when this visit warrants a one, because Edd's is a childhood favorite and a staple in Pascagoula but it's disappointing to see them going down hill. A local suggested we stop in for a hamburger and shake, so we did. The menu is frustrating, since the prices really don't tell you the true cost. Lettuce and tomato is extra. You want a shake, the flavoring is extra. The hamburgers are small for the cost. It's like they are nickel and dime you to death. This little ole drive-in has mythical chili cheeseburgers! Seriously, I heard of them from a friend in Birmingham, AL who said "If you're going south, it's worth putting Edd's on your route." My girlfriend slept on the drive and woke up saying, "Why did you stop for a burger out here?" After her SECOND burger, chili cheese fries, and half of my strawberry milk shake she was sold! She advocated we return to Edd's on our drive from Nola and so we did. Definitely go with the Chili Cheeseburgers, and order about 3-4 per person!! This place is legendary. A simple, old-fashioned drive-in. Try their chili-cheese burgers, they are awesome. Great assortment of fantastic milkshakes too. They now accept credit cards, have gift cards, and use an electronic cash register. It was always interesting that they remembered everything you ordered, added it all up in their head, and actually got your order correct. Tonight was the first time my wife and I tried Edds Drive In. We presently moved here from Pheonix AS.. We had driven by this location several time and always saw a lot of cars by it. So we stopped by. We both ordered a double cheese burger and fries. Frankly we were disappointed when we saw our order. The burger was below average. Two thin patties on a plain white bun. Definitely not worth than we paid. The fries were over cooked. A MacDonalds small drink is bigger than their medium drink. Overall service was fair although they had more workers than customers. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to get our food. Overall, though it has a history to food just isn't worth it. read more

My love affair with Edd's started at a very young age. My father lives in Pascagoula and my mother grew up there. My mother's father used to come on his lunch break in high school. For many people Edd's is a tradition, and it's not hard to see why. I've had their hot dogs, chili dogs, chili buns, cheese burgers, chili cheese burgers, double chili cheese burgers, (my favorite, made to order), fries, milkshakes, and sundaes. My go to order is a double chili cheese, fries, and a small chocolate shake. They've been around since the 50s and not much has changed, including their prices. I guarantee you can't find a burger as good as theirs for $2-3. They're affordable, delicious, and a staple for anyone who knows about them. I hope they're around for a long, long time. read more

I don't know about these "best ever" comments. It's an interesting landmark for the 'Goula, for some local flavor. I didn't find anything to be especially unique about the food - I am pretty sure the fries I had were undercooked Ore Ida crinkle-cut fries. But they get a lot of points for being a staple, and for having an employee that's worked there for more than 30 years. That's pretty cool. Super cheap prices! read more
