This just isn't any ole hot dog joint. I'm talking let your creative juices flow! Mac and Cheese on a dog?! Amazing. The Maholo dog has the most yummy flavors. No ketchup or mustard. Thai chili sauce on top was the bomb. There are several nice picnic tables out front. A fridge with an assortment of soda and water and a menu that gets the saliva glands working over time. And YOU MUST EAT ROBS HOMEMADE BREAD PUDDING. You will thank me later. In fact you will dream of it!

I hired the Wacked Out Weiner food truck for a 40th Surprise Birthday Party on 9/6/2019. It was fabulous and everyone loved the weiners! I got nothing but great reviews from all the party goers. People had their pick of some amazing toppings including all the normal items you would expect (chili, cheese, onions, sauerkraut, relish etc) but in addition was bacon, macaroni & cheese, Weiner dust (which you have to try!) amongst others. We were all pleased and our tummy's were happy The food truck is the cutest red caboose and really added something to the party. The price was reasonable and the owner was accommodating in every way. I am visiting from out of town and when I saw this place pop up I couldn't stop laughing at the name and couldn't wait to try this place. My expectations for a fun, cool, funky joint were sadly not met. The hot dogs were sitting on a roller and reminded me of something I'd find in a gas station. The women who was in there (god bless her heart) did NOT want to be there and it was obvious. The place had a weird vibe and was not that pleasant to stop into. The food was okay. OMG best gourmet hotdogs around. Go for lunch or Dinner will always have the best service and hot dog. Definitely will be back to try them all. It is not a sit down place but have a nice tables to sit outside. Prices are so reasonable. read more

Fun place to stop and grab a hotdog to go! Lots of toppings to choose from. Everything was fresh, place was clean, and service was friendly. A little bit of outdoor seating is available and the park is right down the street for a great place to eat. read more

I had heard a lot about these places so I wanted to try this one. It is an extremely small restaurant with no bathroom or inside seating. The menu is hand written and one special caught my eye being 2 hotdogs and combo for $8 or $9. I was expecting 2 all the way foot Footlongs or something special. Instead it was just a generic hot dog you can find at any stand or grocery store. The toppings are supposed to be their signature trait, but was mostly pickled vegetables of some kind that didn't appeal to me so I just got chili and cheese. When I saw the word "combo" I was hoping I could get some fries and a sweet tea, but no. You can choose from your basic 4 flavors of chips and a bottled coke or Dr Pepper. This was real disappointing because I don't drink soda at all so I just left my drink in the cooler. How hard is it to make some tea and let that be a drink option? Won't be returning here any time soon read more

I really enjoy it because it's a family-owned business. They open at 6 PM and stay open until 4 AM, which makes it a great spot for a late-night snack. It's located in downtown Mobile, so there are plenty of places to walk around and explore while also grabbing a delicious bite to eat. One thing I don't like is that they don't offer a combo meal, so you have to purchase the hot dog, fries, and drink separately. The line can also get very long. They do offer unlimited toppings, which is a plus. However, since it's in the downtown area, finding parking can be difficult. You may have to park farther away and walk. Overall a good place to visit!

These guys didn't disappoint. But before I get into the food, let's talk about these newcomers. Since many people are familiar with the Cousins Maine Lobster truck (CML), which my family have been fans of for over 10 years, let's compare them to Danner's, the new kid in town. First of all, Danner's is a local Spanish Fort family business versus a massive "Shark Tank" franchise. When you look at the numbers, Danner's wins on value for the hot dishes. Their Lobster Grilled Cheese is a steal at $16 compared to the $20 Cousins charges for the same item. Their Lobster Mac & Cheese is also $16, whereas Cousins' specialty items like tacos hit the $20 mark. As for the classic Lobster Rolls, Danner's is $24 for Hot or Cold rolls. That is about a dollar more than the franchise, but Danner's explicitly markets their rolls as containing a solid 1/4 lb of meat so you know exactly what you are getting. Another huge plus is the variety. Franchise trucks often have strict menus that alienate people who don't eat seafood. Danner's solves this by offering a Philly Cheese Steak for $8.00. This is a huge "pro" for groups where one person might not like lobster. They also have the Maine Pink Hot Dog, which is the real authentic deal. Fun note: in Maine they call them Snappers, but they changed the name here so local customers wouldn't be confused with the local Snapper fish! They also offer a "Cali Lobster Roll" for $25 with bacon, avocado, and chipotle aioli if you want some culinary flair. However, for us, it's really all about the LOBSTAH. The lobster roll comes with some melted butter and a fresh lemon wedge. Here's the big comparison: My Cape Cod honey prefers her lobster almost naked with a very lobster-forward taste, and too much mayo turns her off. That checks the boxes for CML, but Danner's is a bit more "wet" for her. On the other hand, I was just fine with the little added sauce. It wasn't mayo or sweet but rather a very tasty mix of extra seasoning and herbs. Verdict on just the lobster roll? I'd go to Danner's 3 out of 4 times if they were sitting side-by-side. The homemade potato salad was fantastic. They have dropped their French fries, which is no big deal in my book. The chowder was a bit too thick and potatoey, and I'm not a bacon-on-chowdah fan, but the Snapper was authentic on a toasted split top bun. Their blueberry cheesecake is terrific! Bottom line: The food was fresh, the portions were solid, and the family (including a youngster) was friendly and welcoming. I seriously love to support a family-operated business out of Spanish Fort versus a chain. I highly recommend these folks!

This is everything I love about a great pizza, and it's local, so that's just one more praise to sing about it! I paired it with a bottle of Coke, which absolutely was perfect with this pizza. So if you're out in West Mobile, this little place is worth a stop. Grab a slice, or a pie for the entire family. It does not disappoint. They also have pasta on their menu, which gives me a reason to go back and try something else!
