    Grilled cheese burger
    Danette D.

Always my go to for a burger in Midlothian if i want takeout. Customer service is great and they greet you fairly quickly. I wanted to try the TikTok trend - the grilled cheese burger and it did not disappoint. Of course I have to get the fries as they are always the bomb but on this visit I opted for the regular vs the seasoned fries. I think the grilled cheese burger will be my first choice mostly because of the bread. You add whatever toppings you like but because its so cheesy, I wouldn't overdo it with toppings as it seems ot would be extra messy. Its like Texas toast, they butter and grilled and it is on point for sure.

That's the fries from the bag after I ate all the fries in the cup while driving home.

So I'm dying for a burger. I keep thinking where should I go? Then I remember there is a Five Guys close to me that I always forget about. I love these burgers so much. This was a double cheese burger with bacon onions and pickles. I got a little order of fries. It was full and I almost filled it again with what was added to the bag. This location is currently allowing people to dine in, Feb 2021. Some locations only do take out because of Covid. There were a few door dash orders going out when I was there so I guess they are still busy. About 2 groups were sitting at tables.

    Hamburger WITHOUT cheese...?!

Ordered online for family members. Made sure one of the items was a regular hamburger with no cheese as family member can not eat any type of cheese. Got home and found out a huge amount of cheese was melted on the burger and so family member was unable to eat it. Couldn't pull off the cheese either. This may not be a big deal to some people but it is if you have an allergy, intolerance, etc. and then you can not even eat the I item you just paid $10+ for. Prices have increased the last few years and order correctness has decreased.

Food is not consistent fries are often soggy, burgers are too often overcooked. Long wait times and high priced, for poor quality food.

I got the Chopped Brisket Salad. When the food finally got there, the salad had no brisket on it. Had to get the waiter to go get it. Flavors were all good, at least the brisket was tender. There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!

Today was my first visit to the new location and I came away impressed!…read more The ambiance is great. The service is great. The food is great. I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. And it's worth the wait. There's a new bar, so one can sit there and enjoy a drink or a meal. That's nice. There's a new (I don't know what to call it) "dessert deli"? Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. But they are adjacent to acres of parking in the shopping center. So they run a golf cart in a loop, picking up and dropping off diners who park in the satellite lot. Wow! That's service. The restaurant business is tough. And endless number of ways to fail. But the Brick House Diner is doing everything right! PS: In a time when restaurant prices seem to be out of control, BHD is doing a great job keeping prices as low as they can. For the meal I had, I've paid 10 to 25% more at other, similar venues. So, hats off to BHD for cost control!

The host and servers greet you with bright smiles and genuine hospitality. The menu reads like a carnivore's fantasy: Brisket Burn End - offered as tacos or tossed with mac&cheese, it's cooked to a melt‑in‑your‑mouth perfection. Flying Shrimp & Signature Coleslaw - the crisp, golden shrimp pairs beautifully with the refreshing slaw. This used to be a place where you'd have to wait for a table every time, but now the restaurant is half empty and I see why! When I was ordering my food our server was slightly rude & I was taken aback (but you never want someone to spit in your food so I ignored it lol). As I was ordering my food she repeated my wing order to me as she was typing it in, but she did not acknowledge the fact that I asked for all flats so I said all flats again & her response was an "I heard" under her breath which others at my table noticed the rudeness associated with it as well. The wings visibly looked different but fine, however once I started moving them around, I noticed they were dry & chewy like they were over-fried, but normally when I get them they are moist with a slight char from being grilled even tough they are dry rubbed. The loaded baked potato I was a shock to me..a lot more cheese than potato and it was cold. I'm simply very unsatisfied. I took my food home with me & ended up just throwing it all away. They've still got the best blue cheese though, hope that doesn't change! I've got lots of points to use so I'm going to just try a different location & pray. My two times at Short Pump have been better than the last six-eight months at Midlo.

The man in charge - I think he was the manager - was really welcoming and was great at his job! The location was VERY well run. Skip ahead to sometime mid-2025 till now, and it's a totally different experience... but NOT in a good way. Now all ordering is done by self-service kiosk. (like at McDonald's.) They had introduced those a while ago but there was also a traditional human order taker too. Now you can stare at kitchen staff and NO ONE working there will make eye contact with you. No one will take your order. There is virtually no human contact here anymore. The feeling you got before by the former manager, who made you feel welcomed, is completely gone. It's very sad. The food quality has slipped a little too. And the time it takes to get your order has increased. It is no longer a well run ship. And for that reason, I stopped going in late 2025. I go to Five Guys instead, which still values customer service and has humans welcoming you and taking your order. Please get your act together, Habit. Get a new on-site manager, up your game again, and get rid of the self-service kiosks. Bring back human customer service. If you do, I'll be back.

I've followed this brewery on social media for a few months and have noticed their pictures consistently feature pours with an inordinate amount (2-3") of head on them. As someone who absolutely hates foam, I asked up front for no head. The bartender winced and explained they had to pour that way or they'd get in trouble because the ownership "wants the aroma expressed." I was taken aback...not only by the total lack of regard for the customer but for levying that threat against an employee. I was waiting to meet someone somewhere else for dinner, and put aside my disdain and capitulated as I didn't want anyone getting in trouble over a beer. So, I figured I'd make the most of things out on the patio. Alas, you can't take glass out in the patio, only plastic cups. What?!? If this were a college bar on a Friday night, sure - pour into plastic. But happy hour in Midlothian? The bartender did say they could pour no foam for a plastic cup though, which I thought was funny - they're so precious about their beer the foam is mandatory, but yeah, just dump it in plastic for the patio. All in all, a negative experience and one I won't repeat. My advice is to give the customer what they want, don't threaten employees, and eat the cost of a few broken glasses. To be clear: I get the notion of aromas and such, but this isn't Russian River or Alchemist, or even The Veil (none of which have foam mandates). I could even understand if they were busy (I was the only one ordering), but I wouldn't have asked for a longer pour under those circumstances. The beers are average regionals and customer service and good treatment of employees are non-negotiables. I hope ownership sees this and chills out; the person who pays for the beer dictates the pour, not you.
