You can come in buzzing off overpriced $25 drinks, order a 2,700 calorie meal with all the fixings, hit on the barely legal staff, and eventually, enjoy your meal while you take photos on your iPhone that will make you wonder... How did I eat all of that? Did I really shove a Cajun fry up my nose? Do I always look this greasy? Why do I look cross eyed? Who is that ugly girl sitting at my table with her arm around me? Three Guys, Five Brothers - whatever. What can I say? It was a long and fun night... A Zagat rated burger joint (from the Maryland/D.C. area). Inexpensive, fast service. Tasty burgers and dogs. Sign me up. Came here to meet up with a big group who came together to celebrate a mutual friend's b-day - on a budget. More than half of us have been laid off in the last month or so. We needed some cheap eats - but GOOD cheap eats. Our pink slips and growling tummies were not disappointed. We came here on the night they opened. The service was pretty quick considering the crowd and the untested staff. Here's the drill: Line up. Order a burger or a dog, select toppings of your choice. Add a Soda or a beer (liquor license is coming...) Wait for your number to be called. Pig out. Burgers- fresh meat- not frozen. Lots of toppings from which to choose. Tastes like homemade. Fries - big fat hunks - with the skin on. Very large portions. The regular burger is a double- so beware if you're not THAT into Beef. There is a small version - for the mini carnivores. I didn't see anyone order a dog- so, you'll have to check that out. Lots of counter space and tables in the back - but it's kind of cramped back there. But as Oscar Wilde said, "I can resist everything but temptation." This Five Guys opened today at the end of my block in the spot where Dogma used to be. It was packed as Five Guys usually are, but the service and food were both excellent. The menu is simple with hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled cheese as well as housemade fries. For the price, Five Guys is a great hamburger with a variety of tasty toppings including grilled onions and mushrooms. My only complaint is that they use American cheese, and I really prefer real cheese. The spot is open until 4 am which is great for after going out. Anywhere that offers jalapenos as a free topping is A-OK in my book! THE ORDER: Cheeseburger with pickles, lettuce, kethup, mustard, grilled onions, and extra jalapenos.....Delish! Ooey, gooey cheese....thick cuts of pickle....raw and spicy peppers....yum. French Fries....pretty dank for basically being fresh-cut potato fried in peanut oil and topped with a sprinkle of salt....waaaaay better than In N Out fries.... Bud Light- yes! As a native of the mid-Atlantic, where Five Guys was born, it makes me so happy to see this place do well down in South Florida. Quite simply, it's the best freakin burger I've ever had, and it tastes the same whether I have it in South Beach or in Washington, DC. You'll hear me write a lot about the importance of the familiarity of a branded product. It not only shows quality. It also ensures comfort for a traveler like me. I have lots of pals on the West Coast who sing songs about In-N-Out Burger. I call that place In-N-Out of the Bathroom. Don't get me wrong, if I'm out west (they are in Phoenix and Tucson too, not just Cali) I have it. But I always pay for it later. Not sure why. Ok, back to Five Guys. Delicious, delicious burgers, made when you order them and served at a great hot temperature. My burger of choice: Double Cheeseburger with bacon, pickles,, lettuce, onions and mayo. Five Guys Burger and Fries offers a solid burger at a fair price. The toppings are all free so pile them on! Help yourself to the complimentary roasted peanuts while you wait for your order. Keep in mind their french fry portions are ridiculously massive. There is no reason to ever get a large order of fries as the regular size is enough to feed a professional basketball team... maybe even two. As for their taste, I was thoroughly meh'd. If you're a strict meatatarian like me, you're better off skipping the fries altogether and ordering a second burger. The bacon cheeseburger here along with their laundry list of toppings, is pretty damn good for the money. One 'normal' burger includes double patties and cheese which is great. Gone are the days where you have to shamefully order a double bacon cheeseburger as the people waiting in line behind you secretly judge you and your eating habits. At Five Guys double patties are the norm, if you want a single patty prepare to prefix your order with the word "little" and risk looking like a little girl. They also offer hot dogs, veggie sandwiches, and a grilled cheese if you're into that sort of thing. I have been eating Five Guys burgers for over 20 years. Live in VA. I know burgers and I am a once a week customer for them. This was the worst burger I have ever had at a Five Guys, it was over cooked like a hokey puck, when I asked them to cook a fresh one for me not over cooked, they looked at me like wtf. Second one was no better. Fries were over cooked also. I was there early, so it wasn't like they were jammed with customers. The staff needs to be trained to treat their customer more friendly and clean the place, it was filthy.. My sugestion for anyone looking for an amazing burger in SOBE, its right across the street. Wow! Thank GOD for 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. They have renewed my love for a great American Cheeseburger. I had the cheese burger, which comes with two patties, and your choice of toppings. It is great because they have a ton to choose from and none of them cost extra. Personally I go with : tomato, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, jalapenos, and mayo. But you can get BBQ sauce, regular onions, bacon etc. They also offer Veggie Burgers, and Grilled cheese. Order the medium fries unless you have been starving yourself, because they put the cup of fries into a bag and fill it up. Not to mention they are delicious. "Meh. I've experienced better" says it all. I had my doubts about the place from the beginning because of the whole franchise/fast food-thing, but I decided to give it a try because I read an interesting article about the family that created the franchise in Inc. Magazine. I can't speak for other Five Guys, but the Miami Beach store blasts music to a point where you can't hear the cashier that who speaks Spanglish and mumbles. The mumbling Spanglish is something I'm used to do understand for a number of reasons, but once you add the loud music, forget it! The menu is simple - a definite plus, because I believe that if you give people too many choices, they're like a deer in headlights and standing behind those deer is frustrating when you're hungry. I ordered my burger medium-rare, but was told that it only comes well-done. With that I was DONE! Never to go back to a Five Guys. The burger was good, the fries were also very fresh. However, the fresh jalapeno that was part of my toppings, was not-so-fresh. If there were no other options, I would go back to a Five Guys, but that's not really saying much. Oh, and for nearly the same price ($21) as two bacon cheeseburgers, large fries and two beverages, you could go to Burger and Beer Joint have a ThunderRoad...medium rare...with fries, a bucket of sweet potato fries, and two beers for $27 + tip. Finding a parking spot in SoBe is definitely worth it for their burgers. The little bacon cheeseburger is the size of a normal burger, so don't be fooled by the title it's given! If you want double the meat, it's only a dollar more and both have unlimited toppings. The bacon cheeseburger tastes great with the simple toppings of lettuce, ketchup, and mustard. This burger gets two thumbs up! The fries are insipid and only wow by mass. Ordering a side (IN NO WAY IS THIS A SIDE!) of regular fries was like ordering a small potato sack of fries. OK, so the new Five Guys is only a block away from work, and since I had been hearing raves from people who had been at the midtown branch I went to try it out last nigh after closing shop. Wow wow wow, I got a little bacon cheeseburger to go and was truly impressed with it. from the delicious patty, fresh crispy tomato and lettuce, awesome grilled onions and last but not least to the crispy bacon strips, all were cooked to perfection. I will begin by disclosing that I'm one of those people that having tried In-N-Out will compare every other fast food burger to that. However, I typical do like Five Guys, just not the one at this location. Having the late night munchies my options were limited to the beach, since pretty much all other locations were closed. Upon arrival parking was very difficult to find, but this is typical for the beach. There's a few adult clubs nearby which might explain the 'interesting' attire of some of the clientele. Ok now on to the food... The one thing I don't like about five guys in general is that they wrap their burgers in foil therefore the bun gets soggy. So I was very specific with my order mentioning this twice to the cashier. I stood there as they started to prepare my order and mentioned it to the lady preparing the food. She seemed to be bothered by this. I went to get ketchup and when I came to pick up my tray, what do I find? My burger wrapped in foil. I was just hungry so took it as it was. I didn't want to deal with the attitude of the lady preparing the food. It was clear the staff here does not enjoy their job and could care less about doing a good job. I sat down to eat my soggy burger hoping it at least tasted good. Not so. This burger lacked any flavor. The fries were not crispy or hot. I will not return to this Five Guys, I will just have to go elsewhere with my late night munchies. read more

Well, it's a modest place but that being said...I have not tasted fries that can compare. On occasion...as a dirty treat...we go just for those salty bites of potato bliss. I love that they leave the flavorful skin of the potato on the fries. This location in particular definitely doesn't load up on the fries and give you a heavy greasy brown paper bag bursting with carb goodness in the way I have seen at others. Perhaps that is a good thing, depending on who you are and how many you're sharing with. As for the burger, not bad at all. The toppings are great, especially the mushrooms and it is a tasty enough burger patty. They grill the bread so that makes the decision to toss it all that much harder. I pride myself on salad making abilities and healthy food, but this is one of the few fast food places that even a foodie can enjoy. This place kind of seems like an east coast version of In n Out, but the numerous free topping choices and huge portion sizes give it an edge. The "little" burgers are basically normal burgers (pretty big), while the "regular" burgers have 2 patties...insane. I went with a "little" cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and grilled onions. I wasn't completely blown away or anything, but it did taste like it came fresh off of a backyard grill - impressive for a burger joint. The fries were "ok". They weren't very crisp, but I did like the fact that they kept the skin on. Hopefully, they open some Five Guys in California! We could use some new late night food options. read more

It's 3:30 am and I am starving. I want something GOOD. My husband and I are wandering around South Beach on our honeymoon and we come upon Five Guys. We are from Cali so Five Guys was just a rumor to us at this point. We were raised on In n Out and can'tt believe the hype that there is a rival out there. We have to try this. Free peanuts? Check. Best FAST FOOD burger on the beach. You can't compare this to places like beer and burger joint or 8 oz. This is not the Five Guys that I'm used to other cities because they don't cater to "secret menu" items. My biggest complaint is that I was unable to order fries well done. I asked on two separate trips for those and was referred to the manager on duty who (first time) said "We don't do that" and (second time) a different manager who said (loudly) "Oh, so you want them burnt?" Of all the burger places around Miami, 5 Guys are probably the most consistent decent places out there. Sure I've had better, but for the price you pay, it's decent. The bread is always nice and soft with the cheese melted just right and a little gooey. Sure, I'll need to burn it all off in the next couple days, but it's one of those meals that are just so worth it. Bacon Burger & Cajun Fries. Their Cajon Fries are really good. The burger is small for me but then again I also eat 3 double meats at In-N-Out in California. The burger was pretty tastey, though. This store was also open at 1am after Ultra Music Festival. The wait was like 20 min for food but it was also packed at that hour. Five Guys offers little burgers, with one meat patty, and regular burgers, with two meat patties, and that's about it. No specialty burgers here. When you come to Five Guys, you come for a classic burger. Their french fries are something special and should be noted. They come in regular and in cajun. They serve you an absurd amount that are pipping hot straight out of the frier. I recommend getting the little fries because more than enough come. Another special offering is all the peanuts you can eat. While you are waiting for your food you can nosh on some peanuts to hold you over until your delicious burger and fries are done. Went to 5Guys for lunch. Got a regual burger with the works sans the grilled onions, fries and a root beer. This was, in my mind, just going to be a burger & fries lunch. The burger was great with the grilled mushrooms, I loved it. Yet the fries were too many to deal with. A regular fries is enough for two people so be for warned. I didn't even get to the ones in the cup because I could not finish the overflow they stuff in the bag. LOL. They definately give you your moneys worth. I am stuffed and don't see myself going through that 2:30pm hunger pains that I get when I don't eat enough for lunch. I will definately be back for more burgers and fries.
