Ordered roasted wings which were great! They said they've just updated their menu so it was pretty confusing. The manager on-site came and explained and also accommodated our requests. The tacos (flour tortillas ONLY - not gf friendly) only come with chips and salsa. Music was rnb, hiphop. Michelle did a great job at making sure we were comfortable in our rooms and fully took care of us until we were checked out. The location is right by the beach on Ocean Drive and so close to many bars and restaurants. The hotel itself has nice frozen cocktails. There are a ton of bars along the street of South Beach but if you're looking for that hot pink Miami vibe with cute girls then this might just be the spot. Clevelander kind of reminded me of day club in Vegas, except on a much much smaller scale and not as flashy. The cost of the drinks were definitely on the higher side but our bartender definitely made sure to put a lot of alcohol in there for me. I've been frequenting The Clevelander Bar and Grill for over 35 years! It used to be my starter bar before really going out in South Beach back in the 90's. Why? Well, for starters, it has a beach and ocean view. Being on Ocean Drive. Great ambience. It's always great for people watching. If you St out on the sidewalk of Ocean Drive. And it's indoor/outdoor with a great happy hour. A great food selection. And they almost always have a great DJ. It's good for lunch. Good for dinner. During our visit on Saturday, the bartender outside at the front bar was 100% on top of everyone and our needs, not kidding. Great employee and advocate for both customer and establishment. We returned Sunday evening and watched the two bartender's talk, yap and share stories while us customers waited and waited. We resorted to waving our hands and even whistling to grab their attention, and when they served us, it was poor service that lacked attention to our needs, as if we were interrupting them. The Clevender help to jump start my birthday trip, in South Beach Miami! This restaurant/bar is located directly across the street from the beach. The ambiance is that of somewhere in the Carribbean. There is a checkpoint for identification and items carried. The prohibited items are listed on the signage. The security even saw my birth date and wished me a happy birthday. It's the little things. I was immediately seated and chose the high chair and table. The wait was very kind and quickly informed me of the menu options. I made my order and proceeded to record my YouTube vlog, for my birthday. The music wasn't too loud and no one disturbed me. I ordered the 'Bang Bang Shrimp' tacos and a mimosa. The shrimp were AMAZING! I am a light eater, but was tempted to order another round. I need their recipe for those shrimp tacos! The waiter was patient to check on me and allowed me time to enjoy the environment. They have outside fans, but there was also a breeze. The pricing was expected for a business on the beach. This hotel was fun and GREAT LOCATION, but had a lot of negatives. Upon check in, we were not greeted and the front desk man just asked for our name. He then told us we were upgraded to a Rockstar room. He gave us frozen cocktails and we went to our room. First impression: if we were upgraded, what would the other room have looked like? It was small, but fine since we didn't plan to be in the room much. The building was old and I would have never paid more than we did for an "upgraded room". The shower water pressure was a "rain" shower head, but it took me SO long to wash my hair since it was just trickling. It was bad. Our room overlooked the pool which was BUMPING until 5 am. We sang along to every word of every song - that is how loud it is. It felt like we were fully sleeping in a night club. We knew what we were in for though and since we were in party mode it was ok. I can't imagine my parents or someone thinking they were just going on a regular beach vacation staying here though. Pros: Great people watching, comfortable bed, BEAUTIFUL views from the sundeck, fun pool party atmosphere, and incredible location. We really had a great time. Unfortunately when we came back from being out all day, we walked in the door to a soaking wet floor. All my shoes on the floor were drenched. The air conditioner broke/froze and leaked and the floor was soaked. We went to the front desk and they immediately sent an engineer and the manager up to make things right. He offered to waive our amenity fee which was great, until it was time for check out and the front desk was not notified of it. Luckily we gave so much detail and everyone's names that we interacted with that the woman waived it for us. She was SO friendly and also gave us frozen cocktails on the way out that were entirely different than whatever we received when we checked in. Another perk is the free coffee and croissant each morning at Bacon Bitch, beach towels, beach chairs, bike rentals, etc. We had a lot of fun here, but would choose to stay at an updated hotel next time. read more

Would give this zero stars for service, but here we are... We were really unhappy with this restaurant. It was my first time visiting. No complaints about the food or kitchen staff - honestly, the food was great, and that's important. I'm giving 1 star, and that's only for the Service. We were staying at the Clevelander Hotel, which offers a 15% discount at this restaurant. When we sat down, we specifically asked both the hostess and our server if the discount applied, and they both said "Yes, sure." Our server, Zulma, seemed either very unprofessional or maybe just new. Every time we asked her about something on the menu, she wasn't sure. I ordered a beer - she came back and said they were out of it. I ordered a different one, and again, she returned to say they didn't have that either. So I just said, bring me whatever beer you do have. No big deal at that point. When it was time to pay, we asked for the check. She brought us just the credit card slip - no itemized check. We asked for the itemized version and reminded her about the 15% discount. We had already noticed that the total charged to the card did not reflect any discount. She returned with the itemized check - still no discount. We asked again. This time she said she had to check with the manager. First, she asked us to show our hotel key or something that showed we were eligible. We showed her the hotel key. She came back rolling her eyes and smiling, and said the manager told her the discount only applies to the breakfast menu. Then came the next question: "Do you have a Florida Driver License or Miami ID? Then we can give you the discount." We were like - Really? We're visitors, staying at the hotel you partner with. Isn't that the whole point? At that point, we were frustrated - why didn't anyone mention that before we ordered? Meanwhile, during the 25-minute back-and-forth, my credit card was already charged without my signature or approval. How nice, right? Eventually, we gave up and left because we were tired of going back and forth, especially with her attitude. It was honestly ridiculous. And of course, they included a 20% service charge. For what service, exactly? Also worth noting: there's an automatic 20% gratuity charge added to every bill, regardless of the service provided. Our bill came to about $120 for two people - definitely not cheap. And to top it off, they still had a spot for an optional tip on the check. Hilarious. With hundreds of restaurants around, we made the wrong choice. It's not even about the 15% discount--we could've easily paid full price. It's about how they treated their guests. We won't be coming back, even though the food was genuinely good. Zero stars for service. Five stars for the food. read more

I recently stayed at the Clevelander Hotel in South Beach, Miami, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I spent one night there on a Thursday, and from the moment I entered my room, I noticed it was uncomfortably hot. It seemed like the air conditioning wasn't working properly, which made it difficult to relax or sleep. Adding to the discomfort, I was awakened at 9:00 AM by housekeeping knocking on my door, even though I hadn't requested any service. Just 30 minutes later, at 9:30 AM, the hotel called my room to remind me that check-out time was approaching. This felt unprofessional and intrusive, especially since I was well aware of the check-out policies and didn't appreciate being disturbed so early. Also the bathroom door in the rooms are sliding doors. They didn't close all the way ,so be prepared to smell someone's poop. The decor of the rooms are also basic , it looks like an upscale motel room. On a positive note, the hotel does have a lively atmosphere at night and is definitely a spot for those looking to party. However, the lack of comfort and consideration during my stay overshadowed this aspect. Place is NOT kid friendly, it's a party hotel. Don't bring kids read more

This is a great hotel, Stanney and Joseph have went above and beyond all week . Michelle at the front desk is very unprofessional and obviously does not like the hospitality business and should go elsewhere-meeting her for the first time Friday morning I see she's not a morning person. This review is for management to address her directly.. Michelle's lazy unprofessional attitude was not the way I want to close my fabulous stay here. Please address the bad seed Michelle! I've been tipping the front desk and housekeeping all week and asked for nothing but a fridge (received) and a microwave all week which I never received. I've been here during a couple different vacations for drinks and snacks. It's a great location for people watching. There is lots of eye candy within as well. They have fun games and DJ. I saw more than one person fall while I was there so around the pool does seem to be a constant hazard, but I bet that's a struggle with wet feet walking in and out of the pool + heavy drinking, etc. They had some good drink deals including beer pitchers with $5 shots.
