I have never eaten at this restaurant before, but to go in here and get the food that I got and pay $34 plus I'm absolutely appalled. It was the worst hamburger I've ever had in my life my son and I didn't even eat and we actually threw them away along with their gross fries. zero stars! We became fans initially and frequented this location when it was new. loved the frys and grilled mushrooms, we even started making our burgers at home this way, foil wrapped. I like to go to places with the minutemaid lite lemonade and sometimes that is the only reason I choose Five Guys over other restaurants I also like who don't have it. The kids and wife love the fancy soda machine, but I'm just happy to have the lemonade. So about the last at least three times we've gone the place has been filthy even though there's not a lot of people. The fancy soda machines have been out of half or more of the choices and the last two times both machines were completely out of my lemonade. Also one of the times my burger was nasty. The girl who I asked to replace the lemonade spent half my meal the first time and the second time couldn't get the machine to work at all so I left my empty glass and burger at the register and my family and I walked out and will never be back again. The only reason we gave it this many chances was because of course of our first impressions and also a couple of the employees are family friends. I don't know what happened but I agree with most of the other reviews that this place has gone horribly down hill and it is currently being extremely mismanaged driving customers away in droves. Too bad, I wasted a lot of money today. I initially asked for my money back but didn't want wait for the worthless manager to get around to helping me so I just walked out and this place used to be our favorite, very sad. read more

Five Guys makes a pretty good cheeseburger. Good bun, patties have very good taste and texture (a bit on the greasy side, though). I didn't care for the semi-soft American cheese; I prefer cheese with flavor over cheese with meltiness. Excellent selection of toppings, aside from the cheese (how about offering Swiss and sharp cheddar as well?). I'd give Five Guys 3-4 stars if a cheeseburger, fries and drink ran slightly north of $7. But a cheeseburger and a drink (no fries) is $8.35 with tax. For that kind of money the burger should be exemplary. And it's not. read more

Loved this place in Virginia and was so happy to see it come to Mesa! Great burgers, the cajun fries are so much even I can't eat them all. if you love greesy, flavorful, fresh cooked, homestyle burgers... then this is the place for you. By far the best place in the Dana Park area to get a burger. Expect it to be a burger joint. it has a simple menu, but lots of topping options, a MILLION soda fountain options, like a 21st century mechanical soda jerk machine... it's the coolest! But nothing steals the show from the burgers. they are just so good. I keep the toppings simple even though you can get a lot, the burger speaks for itself. read more

I had to down rate my review from a 5 to a 3 because the music was so loud we found it impossible to talk. My burgers was great! The fries were good and the peanuts were perfect. The melted cheese between two perfectly cooked patties was surrounded with crisp fresh lettuce, onion and tomato. The sauce and bun was perfect. Wish I had taken ear plugs or got my burger to go as I would love to give this burger place a 5 stars. Service was a tad slow and did I mention that the music was really really loud? read more

Never again, i've learned my lesson! Don't get me wrong, the burgers here are good but a cheeseburger, regular fries and a regular drink for over $13 buck?? Imagine if i brought my family of 5 to this fast food burger joint and having to spend over $65. Are you kidding me?? The burgers better have foie gras on it and the fries sprinkled with triffles! In-n-out burgers are just as good if not better but you can spend less than half of what five guys charges. Is it because they give you all the fries than most humans can eat (not necessary), which by the way, need to be cooked just a bit longer. I think the appeal to most people is the fact that they have so many toppings to choose from and you can customize it like you want. To me it's all about the burger meat itself and while it was ok, it did not blow my mind. Cut the price in half and yes it would justify and would probably earn more returning customers. read more

The !food is phenomenal! Would absolutely take others, share w/visiting friends/family. It's rather cold inside, but seeing the history on the walls, makes it worth it! Rather than so much space for 50 lb. bag crates, it would be great to have a television or local newspapers to enjoy with everyone. Munching on free peanuts while waiting for your order remind you of being in a backyard bbq! Largest seating area I've ever seen for a shopping center restaurant! Even if a kids sports team enters or groups of loud people, you can move to enjoy your meal in quiet. This meal is something to savor! Very fresh and favorful... BUT very oily french fries, but again, they are REAL! The tables/chairs and restrooms need to be cleaned, though not unhygienic. The hamburgers are cooked infront of you. Have a homemade taste/resembling In/Out, but on a Larger, HUGE scale! One order of fries could easily have fed a family of 4! The small burger is large size at Red Robin! With so much food, they need to keep the air free of any oily and stickiness from the meal. Maybe having Wipes on a Roll at each table, would be a great addition. The outdoor seating needs to be addressed, but that might be a shopping center issue. This restaurant could 100% be a outdoor restaurant (like Monestary) and will live forever! If they are able to relocate, would definitely make for a phenomenal place to have a party or catered, by having them cook food....Scrapbook worthy! read more

First and Last Visit. I went here with my mom as she was craving a burger. She had a bacon burger and a drink. I had a grilled cheese with jalapenos, some cajun fries, and a drink. What you notice visually at first are the multiple, pasted-everywhere signs about how great they are. Red flag. The music was blaring so loud, and was quite a turn-off. We found our way to the order counter, passing by the big bags of peanuts. Really? In a burger joint? Ordered, attempted to eat inside, but due to the music went outside. There are way too many fries in the order. The cajun seasoning was sparse at best. Mom said her bacon burger was good. My cheese sandwich was ok, and I liked having the jalapeno choice to put on it. I have to tell you I am unimpressed with this place. I think having the choices to put on your burgers/sandwiches are nice but the presentation was lackluster. Just had my very first bacon cheeseburger and fry from Five Guys, and it was amazing! They have two sizes of burgers, regular and little. This just means the regular has two patties and the little is just one patty. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger and little fry, but there was nothing little about it. Plenty of fries come in the little order and they are the best fries I've ever had! You can top your burger any way you want from a list of free options. The bacon was crunchy and the flavor stood out on my burger, like it should. The manager was very friendly and explained a lot about the place when I told him I've never tried Five Guys before. The environment inside was very clean and organized. There was music playing over the speakers, which was enjoyable and set at the perfect volume. I will definitely be returning to this location when I want real fries with the potato skin on them and a great tasting burger. read more

I want to preface this with never have I ever been treated so terribly by a food establishment employee as I did here. Her name is Stacy. I ordered a double burger with bacon bowl- all the way. My husband said "I'll have the same, but no mayo." Well, they made mine in a bun and his a regular burger. I brought it back and had the displeasure of speaking with a girl named Stacy who, instead of apologizing for the mistake and offering to remake it, literally reprimanded me and told me I need to pay attention to the cashier when he reads back the orders. I then said, it's not what we ordered. She then said the same. I stared at her blankly in disbelief. She then scoffed and said that remaking the order would be an inconvenience to them. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I honestly laughed. Not only was I just reprimanded by an employee for a mistake that the cashier made, she then told me it was an inconvenience to remake the order?? I then asked if there was someone else I could speak to that was not rude. She told me her manager would be in tomorrow. I handed her the burger that they made and she said "do you have the receipt because it's not like I know what this is!" I then went back to the table, for the receipt and walked over to the cashier. She then stormed over to me and said "uh, okay." I literally didn't want to speak to her. That is why I went to the cashier who originally took the order. She then started speaking to him SO RUDELY. I feel bad for the guy and the way she treats not only her customers but also her coworkers. I then asked the cashier and said "I want to ask you something so she can hear this. Did my husband not say 'I want the same thing as her, no mayo?' to my surprise he then LIED and said that my husband said he wants the same as her but no bowl. I was shocked that he would lie but now it makes sense because the poor guy is terrified of Stacy. The way she spoke to all of them and a customer is absolutely unacceptable. Mind you, this was at 1:45pm on a Wednesday with 3 other people in the entire restaurant. I am still shocked by the entire ordeal. I filed a complaint with corporate but not sure how far that will go. She needs to be fired and I really hope they have cameras in the establishment that will corroborate my story. The poor employees are clearly terrified of this bad employee and will lie because they are too scared. read more

Updating my previous review. This place has gone way downhill. I would have given zero stsrs, but I decided to give one star because the burgers are still occasionally good WHEN you can wake up the lethargic staff long enough to get one made. They are SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, and when the order finally comes up, it is WRONG. Then they unapologetically start the whole SLOW process all over again. This all happening today while there was only one other customer in the place! The three guys who were working there today acted like they were on downers. I used to go to Five Guys and pay a little more for their burgers than the run of the mill places because they were good, but now is just not worth the frustration.I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

So first off this is my first review ever on yelp and unfortunately it's not a good one. Last evening at 9:50 PM I called in an order to be picked up and I was told that it was too late to place the order even though they close at 10 o'clock. The guy on the phone asked if I would be there by 10 o'clock and I said yes that I was coming from Stapley and US 60 and I would be there within 10 minutes and he proceeded to tell me that there was too much traffic and that I would not make it at the 10 o'clock deadline so therefore he could not take my order. So I decided to drive over there and got there at 9:55 and walked in and started to place my order and I had requested that I wanted my fries well-done. He then stated to me that it's against company policy he to cook their fries well-done, so I then canceled my order and walked out. He was very rude and arrogant and he lost a sale because he couldn't drop my fries for an extra minute or two because it's company policy. I won't be going there again. read more

The burger was very good, second only to smash burger and of course my grandmother. Frys were ok to say the least. Mine were a little soggy and not fresh. It's too expensive at 11.65 for a double and small fry but it's a great burger. The price, however, is why I was so disappointed a couple weeks ago when I got home and there was no cheese on my bacon double. I order the same thing, every time....bacon double cheeseburger, add ketchup and mustard only, and a small fry. Same way, every Sunday. How they missed the cheese, I don't really know but what I can say is communication is everything. I don't recall them repeating the order back, and had they done so and left out the word "cheese," I would have made sure they knew to add that. So you get home 8 minutes later and get all cozy with a soda by the T.V. where the ball game is on and pull everything out of the bag and after the first bite, you realize one of the components which makes it complete is missing and it simply does not taste the same. Get up and leave to go take it back? Not gonna happen in that situation, so you spend almost twelve dollars on a burger and fries that you're not really enjoying.
