Ah, Five Guys! It's been forever since I've been to a Five Guys location... I'd say it's probably been five years! This has been my first time going to a location in the state of Idaho as well, and I must say this location is a nice one. I was assisted promptly by a gentleman who took my order for a cheeseburger lettuce wrapped with jalapeños, little cajun fries, and a large fountain drink. The wait was a bit long, but I at least got to eat some peanuts in the meantime and drink a pineapple Sprite Zero. After about 10 min or so, my order was ready, and the same man who took my order handed it to me and apologized for the wait. Well, after taking a bite, it was well worth the wait. Everything was prepared as I ordered it, fresh and tasted great. No complaints on the food whatsoever. I will say too that for ordering the "Little" cajun fries, I received a generous portion.. they were overflowing when I took them out of the bag. I do agree with other reviewers that the food is expensive, but it's not too outrageous if it's just something you treat yourself to once a month or every other month. I spent just under $20 for my meal which isn't cheap by any means, but it's actually pretty in line with what other fast food restaurants are charging currently. It's rare to go out somewhere to get a quick meal without spending at least $15 for it and the way I see it is at least I got a good helping of fries and a large drink with my burger for that price because at some other establishments you'd pay the same and get less fries and a smaller drink. I ate inside the restaurant today, and it was very clean in the dining area. I ended up using the restroom before I left, and the restroom could have been cleaner, but really, it was just the floor that needed some extra love and attention. What I really enjoyed most about my experience here today though was seeing the employees interact with one another. I observed them working so well together as a team, and they actually appeared happy to be there as they were talking to each other, smiling and giggling all while working on fulfilling orders ! That was a breath of fresh air. Most of the time I go to a fast food restaurant or a store, the employees walk around like zombies and you can tell they don't want to be there at all so seeing that really showed me management here must be doing something right and I would much rather give my money to a business where those taking care of the customers are happy rather than despising their job and life. We have lived in the Boise Area for over a year now and I am still searching for a great burger. Most places fall short. Five Guys does not. These burgers melt in your mouth. The flavor is great with toppings that don't fall out of the burger but are plentiful. The cost is well worth it for a treat like this. Their fry sauce is my favorite over other places. The fries are plump and tasty. It has been a few hours now after eating a full burger, a medium order of fries, and soda and I am feeling pretty good. Other items to note during COVID times: they require masks per the sign on the door. They will pack your order to go. If you decide to stay and eat indoors or out, of course it is sans mask. Tables are marked for seating at only every other table. Everyone seemed to comply with the mask wearing including every employee. Many people opted for dining in. read more

OK, now this is a real burger. I got the double meat, double cheese with grilled onions, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mustard. It came with a big soft bun that held up while I mastered eating this beast. It is a bit pricier than Smashburger, but with the option of mushrooms and grilled onions, it is understandable. It was big, greasy, tasty, cooked-correctly and seasoned-correctly, work of food art. The big drag on the rating were the fries that I got with the burger. There were a lot of them in the regular size order, but they were cut too thick and don't fry up so good because of that. They were limp and not so appealing. This is an area where Smashburger excels with their perfect fries. Looks like I will be skipping the fries on any subsequent visit to Five Guys. Totally recommend this burger because you can order it exactly the way you want it from the level of how the meat is cooked to what goes on it. The really good news is if you overdo it with the toppings, the bun will likely not fail - that is rare in the Treasure Valley hamburger hunt I have been on. No photos as I was enjoying my burger done my way. You can do the same. I did see one review that correctly stated that if you like grease, you will like Five Guys burgers. I totally agree, as I was raised on greasy cheeseburgers, but not greasy fries. If you were rasied on neat, tidy, tasteless, plain things that were labeled a burger like McD's, then go for those, not these. A burger isn't a burger unless the grease seeps thru the bag. The opposite is true of good fries. One expert's opinion. P.S. Five Guys stop automatically putting fry sauce in the bag!!! All fry sauce is nasty. Offer ketchup instead, don't assume everyone in the world is a fry sauce freak, because most of the world is not. read more

I'm sad to say that my experience today was a disappointment.. I placed my to go order on the app, (1st time). When I got there, I asked for my soft drink cup, so I could sip on my Diet Coke while I waited for my order. Both drink kiosks were out of Diet Coke, so I told the nearest worker. He said "ok". I waited..and waited..and when they called me for my order, I just got another drink. When I picked up my order, I mentioned it again and the guy said "I told my manager." Yummmm nothing quite like a delicious greasy creation from Five Guys after a backpacking trip! My husband and I stopped by on the way back down from Stanley for a well deserved dinner. My cheeseburger ($7.69 including fries) tasted heavenly - especially after eating freeze-dried meals for 3 days straight. They also gave us so many fries! Our to-go bag was completely full of them. So here's the deal. Burgers are good. By no means the "best", but it's a "smash-type" burger. Tasted great, fries are terrific, but the prices are absolutely ASTOUNDING. What they charge for such thin smash burgers are almost criminal. I love the food, but hate that they charge about triple what it really should be. Marketing and branding... I get it, but THAT is why I do t go there anymore. It's by no means even close to what a Habit Burger, In n Out or Crown Burger is, which is what ticks me off about their prices. My burger came out raw I had fart cheeseburgers. They all came out raw and I am vegan.

The prices are ridiculously high first of all so I imagine that many cannot even come here. But worse than that is the disregard for food allergies. I am very allergic to raw onions. I told the person at the register and he said "we only put on the stuff you want". So I get my burger with lettuce, tomato and pickles. It's a good thing I checked. The burger had a lot of raw onions. So I brought it back to the counter showing a different person and re-explaining my severe allergy. They remade the burger. I checked it and it looked onion-free. Took a bite and chomped right into an onion embedded in the lettuce. Spit the bite out but it was too late. Mouth swelled up. The children they hire to cook, man the register and pack the food are NOT properly trained AND there was no adult manager in sight. When I told my friend she explained that her celiac daughter got a supposed gluten free bun and ended up seriously ill vomiting for hours because they put the gluten free bun on the same grill as the regular buns. Hey 5 guys! For your lack of care for people with allergies, you've lost 2 families business. And now others will become aware of your lack of care. read more

We were asked to tip with a 10% minimum when I had to fill up my own ketchup and go and pick up the food. No Service was given. Way over priced for the value. The tables were dirty, and the trash bins full. Not a $75 value for the meal by no means for hamburgers and fries. Will not be going back or recommending to friends. My husband and I were looking for dinner on our date night. With COVID being around our options are limited. We decided to stop by this 5 Guys and we were pleasantly impressed. All the employees were wearing their masks and wearing them correctly. It was clear that they did everything they could to keep employees and customers safe. It was not very busy and still I noticed new grey hairs for how long I had to wait for perhaps the worst burger I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The franchisee should feel shame. This place was absolutely DISGUSTING. Waited an hour for our food and when we got it the burgers were so burnt they were crispy. Ordered shakes and were never given them for the whole hour of our wait until we ASKED AFTER GETTING OUR FOOD for them to tell us they've been sitting on the counter in the back for the last hour. We don't often eat at places like this as my spouse is actually allergic to beef, but it was just me and the kids and with the significant allergies my youngest has, this actually was a safe option. The menu is super simple of course and if you need any option without beef go somewhere else - they have burgers and hot dogs and fries. No salads or chicken etc lol. We chose them for a rare lunch treat out because I was able to go online and easily see exactly what my kiddo could eat. When we arrived it was pretty slow (shortly after opening on a summer weekday), and the locations to order and pick up aren't clearly obvious. Go forward and the cashiers are on the left- the woman who greeted us was super friendly, and was quick to be helpful (and ask for help from a co-worker to double check) and ensure we had a plain burger patty for my wheat/soy/dairy allergic kiddo. This woman made our visit, with her sweet, understanding and friendly nature. The fries are great and allergen free aside from peanut oil. We got cheeseburgers for my oldest and I, and sat to wait. They have peanuts to much on which my kiddos adore- fun and keeps them busy lol. I love that they have all of the extra stuff (forks, knives etc, plus fry sauce and ketchup AND lids for those containers) easily accessible. The food was prompt, fresh and delicious. Everything was devoured (well, we got a large fry to share and that is a LOT of fries so we took some of that home with some fry sauce!). The cheeseburger is delicious, and the tomatoes/lettuce/pickles/grilled onions I got on it were fresh and crunchy. The big kid loves his little cheeseburger (one patty vs two) and probably could have eaten a "big" one (he's eight and thin as a stick too haha), but filled up on some extra peanuts ;) I do really wish they had a salad of some sort- some fresh or healthy side dish at least. However I understand the focus on the few main things- choose a few items and nail them every time is a good strategy. Over all a great visit! Great service, clean environment and delicious food. Tried to order online, unable to accept order. Called store and was told too many orders so they couldn't take online orders. My wife drove over, 4 people in line, ordered and waited 10-15 min- reasonable. Got home, $7 fry was barely a full cup, no extra in the bag. Went to bite burger bun was stale and hard. Hamburger was clearly over cooked and like hard jerkey. Called the store for the manager to tell me they were busy and trying to shut things down. Worst five guys experience ever. I visited the five guys off of Eagle road today. There were 8 customers wearing masks. The workers wore masks. A man and woman came in and were not wearing masks. The workers waited on them and nothing was said. I did not see a sign saying you had to wear masks. I will not return to this restaurant in the future. This is too serious to ignore. These two people should have been refused service or given a free mask to wear. I listened to our governor today and he is wasting his breath. I wasn't impressed the first time I came here but i believe in second chances so this was their second chance. They failed again. For the price, I expect a very good burger. This was just so so.. To start with, my Little Cheeseburger ($5.69) was wrong. I even double checked our order number. It had about 4 more ingredients than I had ordered. Rather than take it back and wait for another, I just scraped them off. If your cheese isn't melted, doesn't that mean your burger wasn't warm enough to melt it? Cold bun, cold cheese, slightly warm burger. The fries..... not bad but over priced at $4.19. The drink was great although overpriced at $2.79. It was a beautiful day to eat out on the patio but have this ever been cleaned? Ick! We sat as far as we could from the dried puddle of what looked like vomit. Just ick!! (Note: I forgot to order a little burger, single patty, so I ended up with a double, and it was loaded). I used to love coming here even though it's expensive. Not after tonight. I placed an order online for asap pick up which said 7 minutes. my husband was already there having a "daddy/son" dinner. This location has some of the worse service. Four kids standing around talking and not doing anything. Took almost 20 minutes for me to get a cheese burger and fries. Good, basic, homestyle burgers but with a nice range of add-on's ( I suggest adding grilled jalapeños). Their Cajun fries are yummy, and their milkshakes (chocolate, banana) are really good.
