Can you give this place a 5+... First found this place in Charleston and I looked up the locations and I was amazed that we have one here in Longmont. Folks on the West Coast have In-n-Out; we've got 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. They are almost equally good but 5 Guys lets you choose from a slew of toppings and they don't charge for them...nice! Sooooo I have to say 5 Guys is better. Oh, and let's not forget the tasty peanuts (no charge as well). If you enjoy a good burger, this is the place for you. They also have hot dogs but I haven't tried them. read more

I think at this particular location I enjoyed my meal(consisting of a cheeseburger and fries with malt vinegar) more than when I dined at their other locations. I don't know why. Maybe it was just because I was hungry. Who knows. The burger tasted fresh as well as the fries so it was all good. Staff was friendly and there was no long wait involved to receive the food! The hype exceeded the experience. Everyone compared it to in-and-out and I don't know why. It was just a greasy little burger squished inside of some foil with too many greasy fries haphazardly thrown in the bag. The grease soaked the bag and I was afraid to put it on my car seat for the short drive home. They have a sign that proudly tells you where the potatoes for the fries come from. It said they were from some small town in Idaho. They post this like it's special but aren't just about all potatoes from some small town in Idaho? 15 minute wait time on a guy behind the counter who I saw as he was not sure if he was working or not: Gloves off, stare into space, check the tickets, new gloves on, walk around a little bit, tap his I-phone, go to the back, come back out... I had to say something to the guy to get him to actually put some patties on the bun. I felt sorry for the 2 people customers behind me. They stayed silent, and with no orders in front of them, they were waiting for about 20 minutes for hamburgers. Not much is easier to make than a hamburger, and all this place has is some burgers, fries and peanuts, so there's no excuse for the slackness of the grill boy. Annoying wait times here. When I finally did get the burger, it was great. Every burger besides the one's called "Jr." have two patties. 800-1500 calories per burger so be aware of that before you imbibe. I would go back if I could get a burger in under 10 minutes on a slow day. read more

I love this place. I love burgers. Wonderful sloppy, messy, tasty, yummy burgers. I always get a boot reading comments about people complaining about things like the cheese cuz it's American cheese. Or, the buns aren't up to par. Or the fries seemed just a little to greasy for their liking. People, it's a burger joint with fried french fries. Burgers get sloppy. In my book, they should. Just a little. It seems crazy to me to look at the menu board, see what they offer, order, eat, and then complain because they didn't have the right cheese, or a certain kind of bun or condiment, etc. This is all American food. Not impressed. I expected a big fat juicy burger. Instead the burgers are two thinner patties cooked and slapped together in a bun, albeit with a bunch of toppings of your choosing. Its a mess to eat. I think a double Whopper at BK is about the same, but tastier since it is cooked over a flame. French Fries are colossal in size, much more than anyone ought to eat. Website says its two servings. Also, while they are proud of cooking the fries in peanut oil, the oil imparts a distinct, unusual, and to my taste buds, unpleasant taste. All that and a regular drink for ~$11. No bargain. I'm sure the food+ atmosphere in the store does not have Red Robin shaking in their boots. read more

My first visit to Five Guys was Thursday night. We were able to step right up and order our food even though the place looked crowded. I was pleased to see the vast array of toppings for the burgers; mushrooms, fried onions, peppers, etc. There was a sign that says "all burgers are cooked well done." Being a medium-rare person, I sucked it up. It only took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. I must say I was pleased with the burger as it wasn't oozing with grease. In fact, it was totally grease less but not dry. The fries were the same, plump and tasty, no grease. Service and food was excellent so I'm giving them 5 stars! read more

I'm not entirely clear why people want to compare Five Guys to other restaurants with more varied menus, waiters, etc. Five Guys is what it is - an excellent burger that is freshly prepared to your specific desire. The fries are good if you like the homestyle-type of fry - fresh potatoes that are cut and fried on-site. That's it, there is no more - if you want a quick fresh burger & fries, you should not be disappointed here. If you're looking for more than that, you probably will be disappointed. My rating is for their cajun spiced fries, which are so good and addictive the federal government is probably considering them for their controlled substance list. I've been about 15 times, and only ordered a burger 3 times. The burgers are competent, maybe 4 stars. If you go alone (or even accompanied by a light eater) only order a small fries. Since the franchise moved in to Longmont, I've been innumerable times - I LOVE Five Guys! The burgers are juicy, made-to-order, and fabulous. Go "all the way," or pick and choose your toppings, it's all good. The fries are nice, and you always get a ton, even if you order the "small." I live in Thornton, but the hubby and I will occasionally drive up to Longmont to indulge in a Five Guys burger craving. We've only tried the burgers and fries (they also have hot dogs). The burgers come in two sizes - small and regular. The small is big enough for me, and also big enough for my husband. We've never ordered the regular-sized burger. You can order the burger with bacon, which is a plus (and the bacon is very tasty). You're also able to choose from a decently-sized variety of toppings (all of which are free): mushrooms, carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato, jalepenos, and more stuff that I can't remember (the BBQ sauce is pretty darned tasty). The burger is fried (which I actually prefer in a fast-food restaurant). These burgers are quite tasty, and I believe they're better than the one In-and-Out experience I had this summer in California. The fries aren't bad. If it's just you, or you and a friend, order the regular size (don't go large). A regular-sized order of fries will get you a soda-sized cup filled with fries, and then they dump a bunch more fries in on top of that. I think the fries could be seasoned a little better, but maybe we should just try their cajun variety. You can tell the fries are fresh (they post a sign on where the potatoes came from). They're also cut with the skins on. Beware if you're afraid of grease. When they dump the extra fries on top of your wrapped burger, the grease starts soaking through the paper bag. However, if you're considering going here, I doubt you were planning on staying on your diet for the day. Don't go to Five Guys if you have any sort of peanut allergy. They use peanut oil in their food, and there are buckets of free peanuts in the restaurant to munch on while your food is being prepared. read more

Longmont doesn't really have a good fast food burger place (Red Robin's, etc.. do not count). I'm hooked on Five Guys. There is a line! But, they have a quick turn around from ordering to getting your food. I don't have a problem with their prices - good quality, portions, and service. I've been there twice for "family" burgers and fries. I've never had a problem with the bun, lettuce, or fries. All were of good quality. I would consider their fries to be "boardwalk style". If you know that phase, you will like their fries. They were made fresh. They pick up a bag of whole potatoes, slice them in the back (there is no room in the cooking area), and bring a big, fresh bucket of newly cut fries. I like a good grilled burger. If they are good, they will be juicy even when cooked well done. The bun may not be the best, but it is certainly better than most. I hate to bite into "funky bits" in my hamburger. If you don't like funky stuff either, you will know what I mean. I've had two burgers there and no funky stuff and neither has my family's burgers. read more

Longmont Five Guys has the most energetic, friendly, genuinely happy crew of any restaurant I've ever seen. The whole team laughs and jokes and always seems genuinely happy to be at work, which is a drastic difference from almost every other restaurant I've been to where everyone looks like they're just waiting to go home. This restaurant doesn't use any timers so they cook your Burgers and Fries to perfection using only look and feel. They're super open the special requests, and to always do their best to give you the best food they can. Each Burger is personally customized and there relatively new shakes are to die for. Anytime they make a mistake they're quick to fix it and always go above and beyond to make sure you're as happy as can be. The only downside to this restaurant is the price. Burgers are expensive and there are no combos, but for hand-cut fries fresh every morning, hand treaded lettuce, and hand separated , smashed, and balled patties of 100% beef, the price is a no brainer. If you're going out to lunch or on a quick date night, this is the place to go. read more
