Food was good and fries were plentiful. Service was friendly, quick and correct. Everything was clean. Enjoyable.

What's going on?! This used to be our favorite location. The burgers were perfectly cooked with a good sear, the fries were well cooked - not limp or greasy, and they gave you plenty. Now the fries are undercooked, floppy, greasy, and you get a tiny portion. The burgers are significantly smaller than they used to be and the signature sear was missing. We left unsatisfied. This is NOT how you keep customers coming back. If you're looking for ways to cut costs, don't do it by downgrading your product. Get rid of the peanuts in the dining room - people rarely eat them and they are a liability with so many people allergic to them. But do not "cheap out" on your burgers and fries! read more

Five Guys fries are the best! This location is good most of the time, with an occasional "off" day. I've always done takeout here, so I cannot speak to the in-store experience other than checkout and cleanliness (not bad, but room to improve here). I believe in the three years I've been going to this location, I've only gotten one incorrect order and one order where they forgot to give me my Coke. I've never had to wait very long for an order , and their oil is not old-tasting/bitter as it is at several other restaurants that sell fries. I don't eat burgers that often, and I am super picky when I do, but theirs are pretty good for non-flame grilled. read more

[Original review] Best burgers in the state; second only to Whataburger in the universe. Each burger is made exactly how you want it. My favorite: bacon cheeseburger (w/2 patties), lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mustard. Yum. They don't skimp on fries, either. Free peanuts to munch on while you wait. Five Guys messed up my order and sent the Grubhub order with an ingredient I am allergic to. I called Five Guys and Brady quickly took responsibility and instructed me to call Grubhub for a refund and reorder and they'd get right on it. Grubhub was less than helpful and offered a partial refund. I called Five Guys back and they called Grubhub on my behalf. No dice. So Brady, Nadine and the crew remade my order and Brady drove it out to me. ABOVE AND BEYOND. For someone with a chronic illness that has difficulty leaving the house and who wanted hot yummy food - this meant the world to me. THANK YOU BRADY!! I know usually this is not an option because of staffing needs and being busy. I just want you to know how grateful I am, and how I'm moved to tears at the compassion and consideration. I could've sworn I reviewed this place, but apparently not... The burger was ok but honestly I like Wendy's better... The fries were very greasy, and a small portion was more than enough for two of us. The peanuts were interesting, but for take-out they were in the bag with the fries and that gave an odd flavor. I used to love this place. But... tonight was awful. 25 minute wait for our food with 7 people working. Milkshakes alone took 15 minutes. They just kept giving out door dash orders and leaving customers in store waiting. We weren't the only ones waiting a long time. The lobby was very dirty, and my husband said the bathroom was worse. The food is good still but the prices have gone up so much it's not worth it. I'll go back if they change policy to serve customers waiting first, and if they clean up. I ordered a couple milkshakes via ubereats The wait time was originally 45-50 minutes, a big long for a place 10 minutes away but I digress. I brushed it off, it's a Friday night they may be busy. However that 45-50 minutes turned into 1 hour and 50 minutes. This is a little hard for me to do, as I've been a happy, card-carrying member of the In-n-Out cult for some time now. What I'm about to say may cause me to lose friends, get bitten by my dog and make my wife think about seeing other guys, but the truth must out. Alas, here it is: In my humble opinion, FIVE GUYS IS BETTER THAN IN-N-OUT BURGER. There. I said it. Here are my reasons: 1. Burgers. The burgers are, first, bloody huge. But that's only a good thing because they're also really tasty. They're made to order and served up hot with whatever toppings you care for (I just did cheese with lettuce, tomato, pickles, sauteed mushrooms, fresh jalapenos). You might have to unhinge your jaw to get those first few bites in, but it's worth it. 2. Fries. To be honest, I've been waffling about the fries. Tonight, though, I finally came down on 5G's side: I love 'em. They're quite a bit larger than typical fast food fries, which means that you can actually taste that they're made from (you'll never guess...) potatoes. Now, I'm the first one to admit that even fried gravel would have to be pretty good, but it is, ultimately, a nice thing to taste something other than 'fried' when eating fries. You can't talk about 5G's fries without mentioning a weird thing that they do. At first I thought it was a mistake, but it looks like they consistently give you at least twice as many fries as will fit in the styrofoam cup that they are nominally served in. So, you get your bag of food and the burgers are actually buried in a lovely, hot pile of loose fries in the bag. When my daughter and just ate there, we thought we'd split a large fry. The pimply-faced kid at the register sized us up and indicated that the large 'serves 4 or 5 people.' So we split a small and still could hardly finish them. Plus! Tonight I finally noticed the bottles of malt vinegar available for use in the dining room. I love me some malt vinegar on my mountain of fries! 3. Things other than burgers and fries. My kid, for reasons unclear, doesn't like burgers. So, tonight she ordered a bacon and cheese hot dog, which she also loved. Luckily, she got filled-up on all of those fries and wasn't able to finish her dog. Not wanting to waste food, I finished the last few bites and agree that that was one hell of a hot dog. So, I've converted. I'll still go to In-n-Out when I'm in California for business, but if I've got a choice between the two, I'd pick Five Guys. read more

Well... THAT was disappointing. I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be a 4 even 5 star place in my book, but they're getting sloppy. First, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no bun and extra cheese and extra bacon (both of which are considered toppings and included at no extra cost- one of things I liked about this place). They charged me for the extra bacon and extra cheese. I had to get a manager to reverse the charges. Then, I bring my hard won burger home and, a little cheese, it looked, maybe, one slice of thin cheese, it barely covered the burger, and almost no bacon, maybe 1/4 of one small slice. For almost $9, I expect one serious burger. Especially if that's all I'm ordering (no drink, no fries, not even a glass of water). $9 for a bacon cheeseburger that turned out to be 2 quarter pound patties, a little cheese and almost no bacon= pitiful. Recently we had a great experience with their customer service. The bottom of the bag fell apart as we were walking out to our car and the food was wasted onto the ground. I immediately return with the broken bag and spilled food and explained. An employee apologized and made us a fresh order of everything, no questions asked. Everyone was polite and professional. I don't know what all the fuss is about this restaurant... I wasn't thrilled with my meal, a Bacon Cheeseburger and a Veggie Sandwich. The Bacon Cheeseburger was huge with two patties of meat but it was boring and greasy. The Veggie sandwich was a meatless burger sandwich with only toppings and vegetables and was quite distasteful. The gentleman who took my order explained that it was NOT a vegetarian-styled, meatless burger patty, but I had expected something a little more palatable. It could be ordered with cheese - only processed American - for +/- $1. Yuck! The burgers come with many choices of toppings from the usual, to grilled onions and jalapeños, etc. I believe that French fries must be one of their specialties and sacks of potatoes and gallons of (peanut?) oil were placed prominently near the counter and in the seating appearing as if they could also be on sale or as an alternate storage place. I didn't have them, so I have no judgment on them. The Milkshakes looked interesting and had a variety of flavors and mix-ins for about $5-6. I might come back for just that... Popped in here on a Thursday evening and the place was packed. Apparently this is the most exciting thing to come to Longmont in a while! We got in the line, which moved along quickly, but then they make each burger to order, so it was still a bit of a wait before we received the goods. Everything is to go, so if you are eating right there, you just take your bag to a table (if you can find one) and eat. There are free peanuts for you to snack on while you wait. It was a very energetic environment and I couldn't believe how many worker bees were behind the counter in their little red outfits. Seemed like they had the routine down pat, even just a week or two after opening. Everyone seemed cheerful. We ordered a hamburger and a cheeseburger and what I *would* have ordered if I'd known any better were the "small hamburger" and the "small cheeseburger." The regular versions have two patties a piece, while the small only has one patty. One patty is all I need! Also, the "regular" french fries were by far enough for both myself and my husband, so I imagine the large must feed a family of four. We thought the food was a really good fast food option. The burgers are definitely well done, so if that bothers you, you might not like them. The toppings were good, and you can order off a long list of condiments. I really liked the fresh-cut fries. It's not In N Out. So those hoping for the ol' INO will still have to wait. It is a decent burger though and a better alternative to the larger chains. I'd say a pretty solid 3 1/2 stars. Is it a screaming value? No not really but it's not overly outrageous either. Ordering a hamburger, cheeseburger, baconburger, or bacon cheeseburger will get you two patties, "littles" get a single. Choice of fifteen toppings at no extra cost. The two styro cups on the menu board showing the fries sizes have little to do with the number of fries you actually get. They fill the cup and then dump a ton more in your bag. I'd skip the cajun unless you like really salty fries. The regular fresh cut fries are pretty good. I had a Bacon Burger with jalapenos (fresh slices), grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and hot sauce. Burgers were hand formed cooked well-done, pretty tasty, the buns were a little squished and nothing special, the bacon was in pieces and there wasn't a whole bunch of it, enough 'shrooms, enough jalapenos... like I said a decent burger. Don't sweat the crowd, they had twelve employees behind the counter when we went and the wait for our burgers for 8 people didn't take too awfully long. Off times are always smarter. Not going to lie it wasn't cheap. Family of four was $50.00. The food was pretty good and the burgers are just a nice greasy burger. Tin of flavor but don't come here is you're on a diet. If you are even slightly allergic to peanuts this place is a pretty risky. Not only are all the fries fried in peanut oil, but they also have open containers of peanuts so you can munch. Unlike In N Out they do have a ton of different toppings like caramelized onions and mushrooms. I was also really excited that they offer bacon!! When I went to order I first went with a bacon burger without the burger, but was corrected that it is a "veggie burger with bacon." Their fries also could have been a little more crispy, but they were made from fresh potatoes and it had a cute little sign stating where they came from. In their arsenal of fountain drinks they offer Peaks Tea. No waiter service, you order your food sit at a table and nibble peanuts until they call your number and then you grab your paper bags and sit at the table. And it is an upbeat fun place so the workers were all really cheery and the music is pretty loud. So if you're looking for a quiet place to eat and talk, this is not the right place. read more

Delivery arrived over an hour after ordering, food cold and $6 milkshake was not only completly melted but also was full of clumps of powdered malt as though they hadn't even bothered to mix it. There might have be whipped cream on top, but by the time it finally arrived it had either completly dissolved or was never there. Most disgusting milkshake I have a ever attempted to consume. I was swayed by the flags on Main Street and the big "Grand Opening" sign up front, and because I felt like a burger. Loved the open kitchen and the workers shouting things and the music pumping through the speakers. Also loved the complimentary peanuts. You order pretty much from scratch, adding whatever toppings you want to four "template" burgers: hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger, bacon cheeseburer. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with ketchup, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickle. There was a slight wait (five minutes or so) but the food is worth waiting an hour for. I could see where people would complain about the bun, which falls apart a bit, but I don't mind a messy burger. And my burger was otherwise amazing. The portions are quite large; the number of fries (which are second only to Good Times on my list) are insane even in a "regular" portion, so there's no need to get a large. Not sure why a few reviewers considered this place worth one or two stars. Five Guys is exactly a burger joint, no more and no less. Service is fast and efficient and the burgers big and semi-greasy- the way they ought to be. Today was my first visit- although there were a lot of people here, I was able to place my order right away. The burgers were the perfect heart-attack in a bag sort of meal. Generously sized, well prepared....when you are in the mood for a big ol' greasy burger; this is the place to go. And the fries...the fries...where to start? They clearly started life as a potato; and have never seen a freezer. They are big, and cooked in peanut oil; as if that makes the gazillion calories from the hamburger all better. These may be the best fries I've had in a very long time, perhaps second only to the seasoned fries at Ollie's Trolley (in No.VA). Never thought I'd complain about this, but they give you a LOT of fries....we ordered two large servings, and couldn't come close to eating all of the fries (and our burgers). This is NOT Frasca...come here expecting a good burger experience, and you'll be a happy camper. If you come here expecting fine dining, you'll be sad (except maybe for the fries!). read more

Finally, a Five Guys in Longmont! The fact it's three blocks from my house makes me want to give it one star because it is particularly dangerous. I agree with the people who have pointed out that comparing Five Guys to more upscale eateries is unfair. It's a grab-and-eat place. Their service is fast to me for a place that makes everything to order then and there without a bunch of pre-made food sitting under heat lamps. Ick. Okay, so they don't make the best burgers in the world but they are pretty darn good, especially for the price. In addition to the above average burgers I think their kosher hot dogs are dynamite. Split and cooked flat on the griddle so they are a bit drier and hot as greasy or chewy as regular hot dogs. Definitely a win. Atmosphere - good, fun, loud, energetic employees. Ordering - Line was long, hard to spot where it began/ended, but moved quickly. Cashier was quick, order came accurate. Food quality - Burger, meat was good, thick and juicy, lettuce was gross, bun was average. Fries - ?? I wouldn't even say they were average... Maybe it was because they were busy, I will go back again to give them another go. But mine were cold, not completely cooked in the middle. Other locations, people have mentioned in the review that Five Guys is "comparable to In-N-Out. No. Although the patties are smaller at In-N-Out - you get a full meal for less than $6. I ordered a cheeseburger, small fries and large drink at Five Guys - total was $10.38. Not exactly comparable price-wise. And lets talk about the fries....At In-N-Out - the potatoes come in whole, and are sliced in the store right before being put in the fryer. Not so at Five Guys. Not even close to comparable. So - don't go to Five Guys with an expectation of In-N-Out. The decor might make it look similar, but it isn't the same. **Edit** So I stated above that the potatoes aren't sliced in the store. You promote how fresh & high quality your food is so Please Offer Real Cheddar Cheese as an option and not Only American Cheese. If I need to pay extra I would. American Cheese is All chemicals and tastes like orange muck. Also a 1- large patty burger option would be fantastic. Like at a gourmet burger joint where you can really taste the beef. They roll all the pattys in the am so it's doable. Plus real cheese...would be a hit. The fries are great and methodically homemade. I found the Cajun fries extremely salty...the regular ones were great. I hear that shakes are coming. Please make them like the real McCoy and not doctored full of chemicals. I went to five guys on Main Street . As I processed my payment I accidentally skipped over the tip portion. I always tip but I was unfamiliar with payment application. Most fast food restaurants don't allow tips. My girl friend put $2 in their tip jar. I guess they didn't see it. When I got my order my fries were just dumped in the bag. This is a review only for their fries. I had some work in the area and suddenly realized I needed some fuel for the body to keep working. I stopped by at nearby chipotle and got a salad. But it was one of those cold days when you just 'need' some fries. A quick yelp search revealed that this was in the vicinity, locked on the GPS and Voila! The peanuts rock, the fresh fried cooked in peanut oil rock but the Cajun style Fries are da Bomb!! My day was made! They were soul satisfying. Saw the reviews and had to yelp in. According to the laws of the grill you can have two types of burgers. One that is fried in it's own juicy fatness on a flat metal grill, or two,you can have it done on a flame grill. Both can be seared to meaty goodness, depending on the grillmaster or the person holding the spatula at the time (the later seems to be prevalent at most places). Regardless, you chose your spot based on your preference right? Well I do and 5 guys is good- but the smokiness you get from a flame can't be matched and that is totally missing here. I think you know where I'm going on this subject. Yes- I'm partial to flame grilling- they remind me of summer cook outs in the park, not a flat pan on the stove. Which get's me back to 5 guys, they do have a grilled treat- it just isn't magical. You can add all the other stuff on it, but it'll can't hold up. Why do we have grills outside for cooking? Smashburger, In-and-Out, etc. all have the same flat metal grill. If that get's you goin' great, more power, but IMAO, get me a grill and a flame and I'm a happy meat eater! Really good burgers! French fries were kind of squishy and greasy. Good chocolate shake, good strawberry shake. I don't know what they did with their banana shake. It tasted like the greenest of Green bananas, or maybe they forgot to peel it. Possibly the worst shake I've ever had. Really disappointed. read more

Great fries! Marginal burgers. They wrap the burgers in foil and by the time it gets to you they're luke warm. Too expensive for what you get. If you've never been there, go once, and see for yourself. I haven't been back in over a year. read more

I consider myself a burger connoisseur and this place is one of the best IMO. I like Good Times a lot but both the burgers and fries are quite a bit better here. I travel to CA a lot and love In-n-out and would say this is on par (slightly better actually). My favorite burgers are 1. The Counter (Park Meadows). 2. Five Guys. 3. LarkBurger (Boulder). 4. In-n-out. 5. Smash Burger (was better when it was IconBurger in Lafayette). High quality fast food. Big burgers that are fried - I prefer grilled, but I would eat them again. The Cajun fries were AWESOME! AND HUGE!! Wife and I split a small order, and still had left overs. Personally liked Smash burger better, and I won't be going out of my way to eat here. But if I want a burger and it's either here or a McDonalds/Wendy's/Burger King, I'll go here.
