Fantastic Food and Classic Vibes at A&W Rootbeer of Berthoud! Over the past month, we've visited A&W Rootbeer in Berthoud 6 or 7 times, and it's become our go-to spot! My wife can't get enough of the Crunch Burger, and I'm hooked on the Chili Cheese Hotdog--both are absolutely delicious. We always order the French fries well done, and they come out perfectly crispy every single time. Today, I tried the Chili Cheese Fries, and they were fantastic! Of course, the Root Beer Floats are the star of the show--perfectly frosty and unbeatable. The young staff is friendly, efficient, and makes every visit a pleasure. The building has a charming, old-fashioned A&W vibe, complete with carhop service (though we haven't tried it yet). It's the ideal stop for a quick, satisfying meal with a nostalgic feel. This is not only a great A&W drive-in, it is also one of the best fast food restaurants I have been to in a long time. I got a Papa's burger with bacon and cheese on it and cheese, curds, and a root beer in their frosty mug that created an icicle inside of the glass! The food was crazy good for fast food and the bacon was crisp and the hamburger was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. This is the second time I've come here. We have friends that live nearby and we actually requested to come here based on how much we enjoyed it previously. We arrived at the Denver airport and were taken directly here since we had been traveling for hours and were pretty hungry. I left totally satisfied. The food is absolutely delicious, I mean it's pretty much fried food goodness. The root beer comes in a frosty mug and this time I had a float. So good! Last time we also tried the bratwurst and their seasonal sriracha cheese curds. Everything we've had is freshly made. This location has been here for years and the staff are super friendly. The root beer is so good in a frosty mug and as a float was such a treat. This is a super casual place that is consistently good and our friends bring their guests here to enjoy this delicious fast food. This location also has a drive-up area to eat in your car similar to Sonic if you don't even want to get out of your vehicle but you want to eat it there fresh. While visiting the town of Berthoud for my son's football game, we happen to go to A&W on the way out of town and had a great experience. The place is not real big and authentically vintage, but the staff are super friendly and attentive and do a good job keeping the place clean and getting customers served . Our order came out quickly and accurately and was delicious and the best part was getting fresh made A&W root beer in a cold frosty mug . We enjoyed it so much that on a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park we made plans to stop here again on our wayback It was another busy Saturday and once again the staff were rock stars ! The subtle thing that I noticed on this trip was the food comes out looking just like the pictures on the menu. Seems like a simple concept, but many fast food restaurants underdeliver in this area. Possibly the best burger chain in Berthoud, but that distinction leaves room for improvement. Somehow I always go in with expectations that aren't quite met. Why is the jukebox broken (there was only one CD choice), but willing to take our money? IMO the burgers and fries are both just average, though a frosty mug of A&W root beer has been a bright spot in every visit. read more

A delightful step back in time! Today we had the pork tenderloin and cod basket with root beer. Absolutely fresh and delicious! The servers are all so polite. And the bathrooms are the cleanest of any fast food establishment I have ever been in. We're passing through but have decided this is a must stop anytime we're in the area. The food came out quick and it was good. The sever was nice and very talkative. The vibe was good. You could order from a phone at your table. They had a jukebox but it was broken. For me the drive in burger experience has always been A & W and luckily I have been fortunate enough to live in a place that had more than one of them within a driving distance. They have been a staple and my favorite root beer since I was a child and it was always a treat to go to one for a burger. Compared to the other fast food chains, there is something special about being able to get a simple burger with very little hassle that is ordered and brought to my car on a tray. This particular location has always had a pretty polite and friendly staff that is patient while you order and easily able to satisfy special requests for toppings. The prices have obviously gone up as the times are changing, but they are still somewhat low compared to the quality and service at the other chains and the portions you get make it pretty worth its cost. The fries are usually overflowing and the burger patties themselves don't look like scraps. Overall I would say that A&W is still my goto place for a basic flavorful burger with that classic drive in experience. My husband hates me because I always crave this place. The girls are always so friendly and the food is made to order so you will never be sad about cold French fries. Stopped for ice cream here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Restaurant was clean and ice cream was super tasty. Boyfriend ordered a strawberry shake and I had an Oreo polar swirl. By their own admission, my swirl came out super liquidy so they offered to remake it for me. The fixed one was great and the kids helping us were super sweet. I love this place. The service is great. They are super fast Food gives me the hometown feel. I like pulling up and ordering from their board, the car hops running it out to you. I know they're a chain, but they have a small town feel and it makes me feel like a kid again. And we can't resist their rootbeer floats! Always a treat-especially on a hot summer's day! You can sit on their picnic benches or go inside. (We also go there in the winter for a short trip from our home.) The rootbeer is so good, you don't really need the ice cream, but then it wouldn't be a float, right? After the float, we like to ride around the old town. Just went through the drive thru at this location anticipating the great service I've always heard. Unfortunately the man working the drive thru was unable to handle more than a couple orders at a time, flipped his shit when we asked for honey mustard, took a handful of sauces we did not request and threw them into the car.
