Still my #1 burger place in Colorado. #2 in Southern California. The food at this location is just as good as the Loveland location

Stopped in at Culver's in Fort Collins, Colorado for an afternoon meal. The place was very friendly…read moreand the service was super good. Everything was clean -- no issues with the establishment or the staff, everybody was on point. Food came out hot and fresh, so on that end it was a plus. I'd never eaten at a Culver's before, which was part of the reason to give them a try -- go in and see what it's all about. Onion rings -- solid for fast food onion rings, some of the better ones I've had at a fast-food type chain. Not the greatest onion rings in the history of the world, but good enough. Cheese curds -- really, really good. Chewy but not rubbery, good flavor, just a solid side all around. Double meat burger -- the bun was soft, everything was fresh and flavorful. I cannot complain about that burger at all. If there was one around here, I'd probably put it in my top ten fast food burgers for sure. Spicy chicken sandwich -- had real chicken in the patty. You could tell it wasn't a reconstituted nugget -- it was real chicken, thin sliced, with a good spice to it. I paired it with some of their special sauce, which really set everything off. Bun was good, vegetables were fresh. I have nothing bad to say about this Culver's location. Would recommend, and would return.

The drive-thru and the parking lot design is the worst I've ever seen in my life. Once you pull…read moreinto the drive-thru you're trapped in two lanes of drive-thru, and cars parked in the parking lot with just about 2 feet of space to each side. When those parked cars want to leave, everyone has to maneuver like a slide puzzle, so they can attempt to leave. I never saw anyone get out, but I believe they need to join the drive thru line temporarily, then slowly inch out until they finally reach the exit (which isn't clearly marked) at the far back of the lot. What an absolute cluster! Do not enter this area if you are claustrophobic, a bad driver or don't have 30-40 minutes to waste! Other popular restaurants like In 'N Out and Chick- Fil-A have the parking lot/drive-thru/demand/service figured out... Ok, all that for what? Yes, very good chicken and sauce (both definitely better than Chick Fil A), but just average for fries, coleslaw, and Texas toast. Seriously, those items could be purchased at your local supermarket and taste pretty much the same! I wouldn't be surprised if the fries were just those frozen Ore-ida bagged variety!

It was after lunch rush so there was not a line and plenty of parking. We were welcomed in and our order taken. The interior is fun with all the black and white photos. We both got the Freddy's Original Double. This burger has two patties, cheese, mustard, onion & pickles on a toasted bun. I love that their pickles are long slabs rather than little pickle chips. We both got fries as our side along with our soft drinks. My son went for it and got a small pumpkin pie concrete. This is a seasonal flavor. He really enjoyed the taste and loved that there were small chunks of pie crust in the mix. He ate that while I drove us to our destination. We had our burgers picnic style outside and they were delicious. I enjoy the thin fries. We had three of the dipping sauces, regular, smoky and jalapeno. All tasty with the fries. I even put some of the regular on my burger.

Hot Dog was lackluster in flavor and I asked cashier if they had sauerkraut. He said, " I think so" after assuring me I could have anything on it I wanted. They did not have sauerkraut. Wouldn't you imagine cashier should know that? Not returning to any Freddy's unless I am desperate - and I can't imagine I couldn't do better by going across the road to Walmart and buying the makings for a PB&J sandwich.
