Being that my husband went to college in Omaha he loves his Runzas. We decided to drive the 75 minute drive yesterday to Runza in Loveland. Service : I've never encountered a rude or nasty worker. There always nice and wish you a great day. 5 stars Food: I personally love their hamburgers. I think out of all the fast food restaurants they're in the top 3 for best burgers. They have great crinkle fries as well. My husband swears by their Mushroom and Swiss runza. 5 stars. Atmosphere: super clean and well lit. Been going here for years, 3-4 times a month at the Loveland location. Past 4 times the chicken was undercooked, the staff treated me like I was in the wrong when asking for replacement even with a receipt, then the franchise owner in front of everyone called me a liar, a dumbass for saying I will complain to the USDA, did not want to replace the food and only did after I threatened to speak with Corporate. I've forwarded this to the Nebraska corporate office, USDA for undercooked poultry, the AG office for franchise conduct and will no longer support the franchise with my business. Anytime I road trip through Nebraska, I get a Runza. So last weekend, I did a mini roadtrip from Denver to go to this Runza. Not only was it the solid food I expected but the two guys working up front were awesome. They were so polite, kept the dining room cleaning and provided great service. Recommended by my nephew, we never heard of this place. Now we see them all along our drive. We were introduced to bierocks in Kansas. A runza is the Nebraska version. A tasty option when tired of fast food burgers, though we ordered a burger by mistake and this was not your basic fast food burger. I think it is probably made from fresh ground beef. Season salt, onion and cabbage turns that beef , stuffed into a runza. Service is fast and the joints seem always hopping with locals. And the onion rings are huge slice of sweet onion. Amazing and delicious! We were familiar with these delicious stuffed bread wonders from our childhood with a German grandmother who made a similar version. It's hard to top grandma's recipe, but these come close! What a great alternative to the traditional fast food we are all used to! They have burgers too but we only get the runzas, onion rings and fries because they are such a treat. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is casual seating inside or out. I wonder how much business Runza misses out on due to its cryptic name? We've driven by hundreds (thousands?) of times, but our first visit was yesterday. The Spicy BBQ Bacon burger looked pretty good, so I ordered it. Predictably, mine didn't quite look like the one on the poster. On all sides, I had to eat though a half-inch of bun to get to the patty - not at all like the poster! I do have to say that it was very tasty. My wife was very impressed by the onion rings. Hands down the best fast food in Northern Colorado. They make everything in house and it's affordable and delicious. The history of Runza is interesting and tied to the Germans from Russia immigrants during the sugar beet industry in the area. Bierocks (Runza) are a German cabbage/ground beef roll. It's delicious but if you're not a cabbage fan, the hamburgers and chicken sandwich are quite good as well. Fresh hot house made onion rings highly recommended, and the staff is always friendly. Owners provide local high schoolers first time jobs and kids seem pretty happy to be working there. Big fan of this local small chain. read more

I am not from Loveland so I had not heard about Runza. Got a tip from a Lyft driver that this place was good. Decided to check it out. Friday afternoon, very quiet in here. First thing I noticed is every table seem to be dirty. Go to the counter and order what you'd like. The cashier was very nice and the whole process was quick. That is why three stars. It's for the help they were great. For the sandwich? Not my cup of tea. Seem to be kind of like a silly sandwich? But not really. Chopped beef, cabbage and onion inside a yeast roll. I believe it was grilled on a flat top. Came out hot and fresh. The sandwich looks good when I opened it. I did not appreciate the meat that was inside. Kind of flavorless, with a strange texture. Maybe I should've gotten the cheese? Anyway if you don't know what a Runza is check it out for yourself. Maybe I should throw in there that it was not very expensive so worth a try. read more

Food was ok. Bread was a little mushy. The young man Lazarus, at the register was very nice and said he would hold the bbq sauce, on the bbq bacon Swiss runza. When the sandwich came out, it had bbq sauce, no bacon! When we went back to tell them, they said they wanted it back to "throw away", so we said no we didn't want to waste it, so the young girl, Addy, said she would give us a discount!!!! Really?!?! Runza is a Nebraska chain that has a couple of locations outside of Husker territory. Since I'm not from Nebraska, I was interested in checking it out. The fries were so-so (they tasted like they were straight out of the freezer), but the Runza sandwiches were very good. They do remind me of a hot pocket, but a very well executed version. Lots of cheese and mushrooms in the Swiss Mushroom Runza. I'd eat here again when I'm in the area, but I'm not making a special trip out of the way to eat one again. read more

My wife and I are HUGE foodies, and we tried Runza because of the mostly positive reviews. I will keep mine short. This was one of the WORST 'sandwiches' I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure if the people who liked their experience were simply in a good mood that day, or they just have no idea what excellent food tastes like. The mushroom-swiss Runza was mushy, and downright disgusting (not to mention gave me a very sketchy stomach afterward). My advice is to Runza away from this place, in less you want to get the Runzas. There used to be one of these in Fort Collins but it's since closed. We used to go here a lot when I was a kid and I was sad when it closed, but, thankfully, there's one in Loveland. My spouse and I visited here on Friday because we were in Loveland for other business and we stop in every time we're in Loveland and they're open. The food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. I look forward to any time we go to Loveland because it means it's Runza Day! I just wish they had more locations in NoCo. read more

Customer service was absolutely horrendous, I asked salt on 3 separate occasions, and each of those times the employees acted as though I was supposed to get it from behind the counter myself. I grew up eating "bierok", a/k/a cabbage rolls, or Runza. I will so excited to find this little gem in Loveland. I don't know it the original, the one with cheese or the mushroom & Swiss. We live 45 min away in Federal Heights CO and it's a trip out there; but worth it! Dillon, our counter person, was extremely welcoming and pleasant and served us almost immediately. We're from Nebraska, home of Runza, and grew up on it so we expected the best; we weren't disappointed. Great food, great service, super clean facility in and out and COVID-friendly. Friendly service, but sub-par eats. Today, I tried the original with cheese, and the BBQ and bacon version. Fries and a drink. About $12.50. Very expensive for freezer fries and hot-pockets. Runza makes this strange sandwich that I felt compelled to try. It's essentially a seasoned beef mixed with onions and cabbage, stuffed into a roll. The first bite is interesting, but after eating half of one sandwich, I was already debating whether to call it quits. Not terrible, but not good either. Guess, overall I'd just say it was a pile of mildly seasoned meat on a flavorless roll, accompanied by some really weak fries.
