After hearing how good this place is from friends I had to try it. Food: the burger was just ok - meat was a little dry and the bun was pretty flimsy. I wasn't impressed with the burger at all, but the fresh cut fries were pretty good. They advertise "free toppings" but the funny thing is you can get those toppings at other places for the same price. So it really isn't "free". I did find it annoying how the place brags about how they're "the best burgers in town" with signs and posters everywhere, do you need attention that badly? When I moved from the DC area I was sad to lose a lot of things ... the cherry blossoms, the lighter snows, the wonderful fries of Five Guys. The fact that Long Island has 5 Guys makes me smile bigger than a butcher's dog. I would put 5 Guys ahead of any other burger joint I've ever been to. Went for lunch. Thought the atmosphere was pretty cool. Liked the idea of an actual sit down burger-joint that wasn't overrun with high-school kids (yeah, I'm starting to become that person!), but wasn't a big chain. Really hope this place makes it up here (I saw from the signs inside that they are pretty much based down south). Had the burger (duh). Double patties were a definite bonus. Loved the choice of toppings (all free). Fries were OK, nothing outrageous though. Have had better, have had worse. Liked the free peanuts, definitely a plus. I'm giving it 4 starts out of 5. I took my burger home instead of eating it right there. Big mistake!! The bread got really soggy when I opened the foil. But the beef patties were really juicy and tasty. I ordered a cheeseburger and had mayo, BBQ sauce, fried onions, lettuce and tomato in it, which was a good combination, I think. I'd love to try mushrooms and relish if I go there again. I also ordered regular size fries. The portion was not as big as I had expected but it was reasonable. The fries tasted different than those from fast food chains clearly because they are cooked in peanut oil. I would say they taste good but I wouldn't say they are really all that special. But it's just me. I decided to check out various Five Guys before I wrote a review. I visited: Levittown, Hicksville, Merrick & LGA. They should call themselves Five Guys Peanuts & Fries. Those are the only items that are any good! They claim that they cook their burgers well-done but juicy. Well, I honestly only like my burgers medium rare, but, I'm willing to try. And Try! The first time I had ever gotten Five Guys, was an amazing experience (probaly because they were new) I decided I haven't had it in a while, so I went here with my son. I got a cheeseburger with fries, and my son got the bacon hotdog. I got quite a few toppings on it as well. The burger was OKAY, nothing to rave about, not as good as the first time I had it (something to rave about) My sons "bacon" hotdog. As he took a bite into it he didn't taste any bacon so he had me look at it. The dog was cut in half and looked a bit different, either way, no bacon was found. Went to the cooks and they gave me a few pieces of bacon, thanks. The fries was VERY salty! I don't want my son to be eating SALT, I asked for new fries. just about every 5 weeks my sons need a haircut next door at Gappy's and dinner at Five Guys is a perfect end to the day. At 12 and 15, they are more than satisfied with the "little" bacon cheeseburger...the double one is just too much. My daughter and I both love the grilled cheese with tomato....maybe some grilled onions and shrooms if I want to be up all night with aggita...One fry for all of us. Great soda selection. Mmmmmmmmmm. Good. Not quite like In-n-out, which is simple, tasty, and fresy. Not quite like Fatbuger, which is huge, tasty, and loaded with potential (costly) goodness like eggs, chili, bacon, etc. It's something decidedly in-between; more fresh than Fatburger, the options to load up your burger are free, but not nearly as tasty and not nearly as fattening. Cost is more expensive than In-n-Out and more comparable to Fatburger. It ends up being very tasty with its own unique character. Bags of peanuts EVERYWHERE, and the fries... my goodness. They're this salty, greasy creation of the devil, and ONLY order them if there's at least two of you 'cause you'll overeat and explode otherwise... but salty and greasy that they are, hell that tastes GOOD! Classic burger joint. Customized is key these days. I haven't had the opportunity to visit many times but each time was great. You can do a "make it your own" style and it's always hot, fresh and good quality. I like that the toppings are FREE, yup I said free! And overall this place doesn't have bad prices either! Great Eats! There are burgers I like better, but it's the best fast food burger, hands down. Better not just in taste, fresh real meat cooked to order. I know I'm in the minority but I'm not big on the fries. They are good, and different, but not the ideal fry I was expecting. I wouldn't call it expensive but it's not cheap either, can get pricey with the kids, but still cheaper than a restaurant, and again better quality than typical fast-food. I frequent this five guys often, never had an issue with them. Always have good food, even if the wait can be a little lengthy, and they never made any mistakes with our orders. The one time a mistake was made was when I ordered on the go and I made an error in my ordering (not five guys fault). The staff replaced all our sandwiches with the correct order in addition to the incorrect sandwiches we had gotten. They really made our day and gave us an amazing experience! read more

So it was time for lunch today and i say to a co-worker "man I could go for a cheese burger." This simple statement opened a door to one of the best burger experiences that I can remember. My coworker's face lit up like a christmas tree when he heard I haven't ever been there. "HA HA HA HA! THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!" are his exact words. a 5 minute car ride later I am looking at a very simple menu, regular, cheese, bacon and bacon cheese. First timer here, and I will defenitly be coming back! I've hear about this place and have been driving by it for 5 years and finally decided to stop for a burger, and I'm glad I Did! We were greeted by Leon when we walked in and he explained the entire menu to us and was so enthusiastic. It's rare to find people as happy as he was doing his job. He explained how everything is cooked and never frozen. Even sitting eatting it was so nice to hear how he treated everyone exactly the same, even told the Uber Eats driver to drive safe! Delicious delicious burgers! Definitely worth the price...if you're an average eater, don't get the cheeseburger, get the Junior Cheeseburger, that bad boy will fill you up just fine. Also, the fries, a large is SUPER large, so a medium will do you go. If you have peanut allergies, stay away, there are open containers of peanuts, which seem to me a bit random. I came here a few days ago on Saturday around 7:30, there was an older woman that was sweeping garbage toward my foot when she knew I was standing right there. I kept moving away from her in hopes that she would stop but she kept sweeping the garbage toward me. The garbage got on my shoe. It was like she was doing it on purpose. Then when I was done ordering and waiting a few more people came in. It was a a group of 3 people and a couple. The guy who was working behind the counter, wore glasses, black hair and I think curly hair had the biggest attitude. When he saw more people come in he cursed and goes are you serious ..... he didn't even care who heard him. Yet they close at 10 and it's a Saturday. This place is cheap, and delicious. It's like, did you ever want a nice fresh homemade hamburger, but you didn't want to go to the trouble and you didn't have any lettuce or tomato in the fridge?
