So I came here back to back nights and one experience was super solid. I got the cheeseburger on a lettuce bun with bbq sauce, pickles and grilled onions. The only thing that was sub par on the first experience was the onions weren't grilled. Outside of that it was really good! I came back the following night and the meat tasted different and I had gotten pretty sick shortly after. 5 guys always has really good fries. If you're looking for a date and you're looking to get fries and a shake then this is a great place. The burgers here are usually 50/50 on wither it's good or not. read more

Super convenient and outstanding burgers. I love the fact you can get a burger lettuce wrapped instead of a bun, or served in a container with no bun. The ordering app is great because you can choose how much of each additional item to include of your burger. Every burger I have ever gotten from there has been cooked perfectly, and absolutely delicious. I believe they are cooked on a flat top, because there is crust formed on each side that adds a great flavor (it does not make the burger crunchy, but you know when a burger is cook amazingly on a flat top? That is here). You can add over 20 toppings to your burger, which is fabulous. My favorite toppings are the grilled jalapeños and grilled onions. Definitely cant get enough! My lettuce wrapped bacon cheeseburger was loaded with grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, extra cheese and a small amount of mustard. It was $8 and some change, and worth every penny. The fries are outstanding as well. If you order in the app, they will not be cooked until you arrive for the best ever to-go fries. Get the Cajun Fries, you will thank me later. Customer service here is outstanding, service at the counter is extremely polite and helpful. It does get crowded during lunch time, but they put out very quick service. read more

I love going to this place, the staff is always very polite, and the food is always delicious. I got the little bacon cheeseburger (there goes a ton of calories lol) with grilled onions and A-1, the onions was grilled to projection, and the order of fries was overflowing and hot. The bathroom for the females is a little awkward. Tight corners to go around. For example when someone is standing at the corner either the one trying to pass and the one standing is butt to butt or nose to nose. There's only one sink.... yes just one sink. read more

If you like burgers and are now considered a Calibamian (formerly from California now residing in Alabama like many of us here) who frequented In-N-Out back west, this is likely the closest you'll get to a good burger out here in HSV, just without Animal Fries and all the other secret menu items that In-N-Out has. Sure it's costs more than what you'll find at nearby McD's or BKing, but you get what you pay for and it's by far better and worth it here. When the craving arises (usually hubby), he gets the Little Cheese Burger (1 patty) All The Way w/ Jalapeño. I usually opt for the Little Cheese Burger ATW w grilled onions, toasted buns, and A1 sauce. The regular Burgers or Cheese Burgers come w 2 patties. One order of the Little Fries is more than enough for two to share. What I thought was interesting was that you'll see posted on the wall near the registers where the day's potatoes are from. Usually from some farm field somewhere in Idaho. For the few times I preferred eating protein only, I've ordered my LCB as a lettuce wrap cheese burger (aka bunless cheese burger on their menu) where they would leave out the bun, bundle up your beef cozy and blanketed w extra lettuce foiled up with the sauces served as sides in mini cups. Sounds complicated, but it's a good healthy option. If you order this healthy version, I'd recommend requesting them to include a plate in your bag. Don't forget an extra portion of napkins cause you'll need it as the sauces tend to find their way out thru the lettuce and maybe onto your lap. Nevertheless, the burgers are juicy and tasty, not bland and greasy like other nearby burger joints. If that's not enough to make you full, scoop up all the peanuts you want from the nearby boxes thru out the restaurant. Just don't throw them on the floor. ;) So if you're craving for some tasty burgers here in HSV and that's your thang, this is the place we'd highly recommend. read more

Burgers are completely customizable, from mushrooms to bacon to onions (both grilled and raw) to jalapeños. Burgers are made right when you order, but it doesn't take long. Buns are soft, but not soggy. Ingredients are fresh. The fries are made from real, fresh potatoes (you'll see where they are from next to the register). A regular size fry is enough for two people. I enjoy the "cajun" style fry, which comes with addicting, tasty, not-to-salty-but-just-right seasoning. French fries are their main side item, although they have peanuts at the restaurant if you eat-in. They also offer hot dogs, I believe, but I've never had one, always need a burger when I go in. read more

This place is great. The service is good, the food is delicious. The burgers come with just about any topping you can imagine. I love that the burgers by default technically come with nothing on them, so if you like your burgers plain, you're virtually guaranteed to get them made properly here, as opposed to it being a crapshoot elsewhere. Their fries? Amazing. Way better than In-N-Out, which is what this chain often gets compared to. Everything's freshly made, so yeah you have to wait for a few minutes, but the service is definitely fast, and your food will always be hot and fresh, not sitting around. I ate here twice during my stay because the burgers were so fresh and tasty and the fries were so amazing. The worst customer service experience ever! Out of a four burger order, two were incorrect. One family member decided to just go with it, one did not. Went back to the store (a 15-20 minute drive) to get a correction. Manager Roger has the team remake the burger. Get home and it is again incorrect. Call the store to inform Roger of the problem and to request for him to document the problem so that a refund can be obtained tomorrow (it was almost 9 pm and I did not feel like returning to the store again). Roger was extremely disrespectful and dismissive and said the only way to obtain a refund is to bring the burger back to the store. When I pushed back against that, he hung up on me. Returned to the store with the SECOND incorrect burger (which he can do nothing with, as it is illegal for him to try to resell the burger) and demand my money back. Again, Roger, who happens to be white, is disrespectful and dismissive and actually threatened to CALL THE POLICE on me for having the audacity to be upset that I had to make a third trip to his store to deal with his team's inability to make a hamburger correctly. I am African American and I guess that comment was designed to make me scared or to get me off of his back. He then called me racist because I referred to his team as "you people" in the context of "you people can't seem to get a simple burger order right." Ultimately, I got my refund, but Five Guys has lost my business and the business of my family and friends forever. Roger was completely out of line, and should not be working in a customer service situation. And threatening to call the police on a black man for doing nothing but registering a complaint was the racist icing on the cake. Avoid. read more

When I'm craving a burger, this is where I go. I always get the Little Bacon Cheeseburger with nearly all the available toppings. Five Guys focuses on making a good burger with no extra frills involved. No, the bun isn't anything fancy and you're not going to get anything but a paper bag with a burger wrapped in tin foil. But the burger itself is fantastic. The fries are also delicious (I usually get them with the Cajun seasoning... MMMM! A must for someone in a cajun family.) I've eaten here many times and again this week - thought I'd write a quick review. I always get the Bacon Cheeseburger with Cajun fries & a drink ... usually to go because it is very NOISY in that place! They really should put some kind of material on the ceiling or walls or something. Forget taking a phone call while in there and I can't imagine sitting in there for too long but the food is perfect. They get awards from many states (they are a National chain) and deservedly so ... I suppose this is the best burgers I can find, actually. I am not too crazy about the fries, but they fill a cup full and then pile more into the brown paper bag - so you get more fries that you can handle alone. Pretty fast service, even during lunch times - I always just get mine to go and they wrap the burgers in foil so it is still nice and warm for a good 20 minutes later. Nice open place with ample room and everything always looks clean and neat -- my only complaint would be the noise ... maybe if you were to visit sometime after 1PM it wouldn't be so bad to eat inside. If you want a super tasty burger, you really should give these guys a try. read more

I have only been to Five Guys a few times but this has been the best one out of all of them. The only other ones I went to were in busy cities in Texas and Florida and the whole experience was bad. What can I say, except F ABULOUS? I love that the menu is simple (Hamburger or hot dog?) and the toppings are plenty. There are two kinds of fries and two people can easily share a regular order. Peanuts in the shell are available to snack on while you wait for your food. The regular hamburger is plenty big enough, but on a few occasions I have gotten the big burger with cheese and bacon, but it really is too much burger for me. But every bite is awesome. The hot dogs are delicious, as well, if you can pull your eyes and nose from the burgers....probably, even some of the best in Huntsville. read more
