I work within 10 minutes of Touchdown Wings, so I have ate here many times over the years. The staff have always been friendly. I have tried a variety of menu items, but I always find myself drawn to a the traditional wing lunch special. The wings come out hot and always seem to have good flavor along with hot cajun fries. I've tried various flavors and I don't really have a favorite one. Another big bonus is that you don't have to wait a century on your food. This is perfect for my schedule! A last minute Thanksgiving pickup order at the adjacent Walmart brought me to Touchdown for a quick carry out lunch. It was a decent experience -- boyfriend gives the wings a four, but my chicken tenders were a three, and since I'm the one writing the review, here we are at a three. One cool thing is they have a drive through window! You still have to call in your order (ie you can't just roll up to the window), but I love any place that doesn't require me to go inside currently. I called as my groceries were being loaded and they said my food would be ready in about 10 minutes. Since I was so close, I pulled up at the 11 minute mark, and lo and behold: food was ready. Prices are pretty good here -- for right at 20 bucks, I got a ten piece hot wing meal and a four jumbo tender meal. Both came with a fairly large serving of French fries and a can of soda. One small ding against them: their menu advertises a 16 oz fountain soda with these meal combos, not an 8 oz can. I don't drink that much soda anyway so it wasn't a huge bother, but if you're thirsty that may be worth some consideration. Meals held up relatively well on the drive home, despite being all fried food. At least a moderate degree of crispness was maintained, which is all I could hope for. Again, boyfriend thought the wings were a solid 4/5, and possibly better if he'd had them super fresh. The fries are just okay. My tenders were super, super meaty -- all white meat chicken. The main detractor was just a lack of flavor. I wouldn't say the food was flavorless, but it really needed more umph. The fries weren't salty enough, and the hot wings were just hot (sensation-wise) -- but without much pepper flavor. The chicken tenders sorely needed thicker, crunchier breading, and what breading they did have needed some more seasoning. One final mark against them from us is their ranch is just a Ken's ranch cup. We're addicted to any kind of house-made ranch, so we're liable to seek out a place that does that first. I sound harsher than I really feel. This is a decent place for a convenient, affordable meal, especially if you want wings. read more

Anyone who says the wings from this restaurant are good has never had a decent wing touch their tongue. This place is more like an American Deli. If you want wings in your name, you should at least learn how to cook them. I wish they had cooked my wings as long as they cooked my mozzarella sticks, because they were burnt. Location: This is a smaller restaurant located on the southside of Huntsville. It's located in the shopping center where Little Caesars is close to Walmart. The Quick and Dirty: Good place to go for a quick wing fix. Stick with the wings because the fries are just "okay" The Review: The restaurant has a myriad of things on their menu including lots of options for wings and shrimp and chicken tenders. The wings here are medium sized and somewhat filling but if you do have a large appetite I would order a larger quantity. The fry quality is that of just bagged fries so don't expect fresh cut potato fries here. Table seating capacity inside the restaurant is about 50 people so if you go during the busy weekday lunch time rush expect to wait and possibly have trouble finding a seat. The wings were very tasty but I was somewhat shocked that the wing combo did not come with celery. I know most people don't really care about celery but I do like having it as a palate cleanser if you do try different wing sauces. This is my favorite place to get wings in town. We love the all day specials I usually get extra hot traditional wings with ranch, or we get boneless wings sauce on the side. These are just like Chick-fil-A nuggets but better and less expensive. I really really like the sweet chili sauce. Ordered two wing dinners to go. We drove about 8 miles to get there and pick up our food through the drive thru. When we got back to the house, the order was completely wrong. We double checked our receipt and the receipt was correct. We drove BACK to let them know and they had given us the incorrect order. They didn't even bother to offer anything to compensate for our inconvenience. When we arrived home the order was STILL incorrect. We decided not to waste our time going back a third time. My husband said their wings are soggy so hasn't been back since the first time he ate there and because of that, I've never gone. Life is too short for soggy wings. What is *really* disappointing is the fact that my 17 year old son loves their wings. He works and spends his own money there and was excited to get a card that said if he bought several meals, he would get one free. When he went in to redeem it, the manager would not honor it and no reason was given. The card was taken and presumably thrown away so I can't go in and see if something can be done. AT LAST I get to do a good review. I would love to give 5 stars (I really would), and if I could take off a half star for their only affront, I would. The affront? Hot should be hot, I will go back and try the "extra" hot varieties, but I really hate restaurants mild down things for ordinary people. Now my 5 star, 4 star review: The prices are extremely reasonable, I would have paid about twice what I did at other wing joints. The hot wings, other than not actually being hot, were excellent, and the teriyaki wings were wonderful, just the right sweetness. The wings were cooked perfectly, not tough and chewy, and not red and semi raw. The staff was friendly and the eating area was spotless. I am pleased to see Huntsville has a great wings restaurant! The wings are pretty good. The other food items I tried were average. The location is nice and convenient for people on the south end of town. Do your Walmart shopping and get your wing fix in one trip. The customer service is good and the prices are reasonable. The only thing I would change is the atmosphere. The restaurant feels a bit sterile with fluorescent lighting and lackluster atmosphere. This place is very average. My wings were only partially covered in sauce, so I had to do a lot of dipping in the puddles on my plate. I was going to go to Zaxbys then I spotted this place and decided to give it a try. I'm so happy I did, the wings turned out to be amazing! By far the best wings in south Huntsville. I was reluctant to try because I never heard of them, always went to Zaxby. Well, goodbye Zaxbys. Touchdown wings are fresh, not warmed over. Traditional buffalo garlic and the cajun ranch are the out of this world. The fries are good, I ordered them once. Won't do it again because I would rather have room for more wings. What's so special about this place? The only reason I'm giving this place a high score of 3 is because I've only been once and only had their original wings. Maybe their fish is good, maybe their boneless wings are good, i don't know. What I do know is that the fries suck - they're those disgusting "rash" fries (whoever came up with this stupidest of ideas for fries?) - and the smallish naked wings were ordinary and nothing special. The garlic buffalo sauce I asked for has one too many words in its description, namely, the word "garlic", although thankfully they leave the word "spicy" out. This was my first visit. I ordered 16 Hot Wing and a 5 pc shrimp combo to go. When I got home and opened the wings I had 3 large wing sections and 13 of the small 2 bone sections. The wings were not at all crispy....the skin was very fatty and chewy. I could not eat most of the skin. The flavor was OK. The shrimp were just panko breaded frozen shrimp. Nothing special. The fries were good. I may try them again after they have time to settle in. But honestly I can by better wings at a grocery store deli. read more
