Philly, fries, 5pc Hot Wings
Richard C.

This place is not fancy. The sauce selection could be better displayed. The lady that took my order was kind and able to answer questions. The presentation of the Philly wasn't promising, but the quality of the ingredients made up for it. Pleasantly surprised. The fries are awesome, but I'm partial to those type fries. And I'd order hot honey mustard wings, but I'm pretty sure I just got hot wings. They were good though.

4 finger plate with French fries to go
Bailey B.

A last minute Thanksgiving pickup order at the adjacent Walmart brought me to Touchdown for a quick carry out lunch. It was a decent experience -- boyfriend gives the wings a four, but my chicken tenders were a three, and since I'm the one writing the review, here we are at a three. One cool thing is they have a drive through window! You still have to call in your order (ie you can't just roll up to the window), but I love any place that doesn't require me to go inside currently. I called as my groceries were being loaded and they said my food would be ready in about 10 minutes. Since I was so close, I pulled up at the 11 minute mark, and lo and behold: food was ready. Prices are pretty good here -- for right at 20 bucks, I got a ten piece hot wing meal and a four jumbo tender meal. Both came with a fairly large serving of French fries and a can of soda. One small ding against them: their menu advertises a 16 oz fountain soda with these meal combos, not an 8 oz can. I don't drink that much soda anyway so it wasn't a huge bother, but if you're thirsty that may be worth some consideration. Meals held up relatively well on the drive home, despite being all fried food. At least a moderate degree of crispness was maintained, which is all I could hope for. Again, boyfriend thought the wings were a solid 4/5, and possibly better if he'd had them super fresh. The fries are just okay. My tenders were super, super meaty -- all white meat chicken. The main detractor was just a lack of flavor. I wouldn't say the food was flavorless, but it really needed more umph. The fries weren't salty enough, and the hot wings were just hot (sensation-wise) -- but without much pepper flavor. The chicken tenders sorely needed thicker, crunchier breading, and what breading they did have needed some more seasoning. One final mark against them from us is their ranch is just a Ken's ranch cup. We're addicted to any kind of house-made ranch, so we're liable to seek out a place that does that first. I sound harsher than I really feel. This is a decent place for a convenient, affordable meal, especially if you want wings.

Burnt Mozzarella Sticks

Anyone who says the wings from this restaurant are good has never had a decent wing touch their tongue. This place is more like an American Deli. If you want wings in your name, you should at least learn how to cook them. I wish they had cooked my wings as long as they cooked my mozzarella sticks, because they were burnt. The wings were borderline raw and the service was borderline terrible. Not friendly at all. Overall I won't be back and I think my mouth and stomach will appreciate me doing that for them.

Uncooked honey mustard wings

Ummm .. no . I always ask for extra crispy & well done . What is this ? The food is always good I love it but this is not cool at all . A whole 12 pc . Paid $14 for uncooked wings.... The wings from blessin is how wings should be !!!!

Heavenly Sinwiches - Pretzel bites and beer cheese for Christkindlmarkt at the Orion. $11 :/

Heavenly Sinwiches

This is a great food truck from the same folks as Fire and Spice (both the truck and the…read morerestaurant). This truck focuses on sandwiches, wraps, and burgers, often with some sort of decadent or spicy twist. I'm a big fan mostly for their burger: two patties with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes (though I ask for these to be taken off), bacon, and their heavenly sauce, which to my tastes is reminiscent of a really good fry sauce. It's a fairly traditional burger but executed super well. The patties are a great thickness for me - maybe a bit thinner than a standard Five Guys burger - and since there's two of them it's a pretty filling meal on its own. The service has always been polite and helpful, and the food usually comes out quickly even when the truck is pretty busy. They park on the Arsenal sometimes and are working on perfecting their online ordering system to further improve wait times. My one complaint is the price/size of the fry portion. I always like to have fries with my burger, even when the burger is really big lol. You can get an order added on to your sandwich for an extra charge. Personally, I think $3 is high for the pretty small serving size they offer. I'd ideally like to have more fries OR the same amount at a lower price; either would be okay. The fries themselves are pretty good; you can get different seasonings on them and for an extra dollar can add a cup of their yummy fry sauce. The burger is legit, though, y'all -- probably my #2 or #3 favorite burger in Huntsville, depending on my mood. If they're close to me, I'll pretty reliably seek them out for a tasty meal. They're very good about posting their schedule for the week on social media, so it's easy to hunt them down.

Urban Cookhouse - Turkey Crunch Sandwich & Broccoli Salad

For a $14.25 sandwich, I expect it to be bursting with ingredients & an awesome display of a sandwich. Sadly, it was just enough to cover the bun (that was smashed down) & looked sad. My kids' food was just mediocre. At this price point, for sandwiches, this place misses the mark. I would have been just as happy with a whole host of other lesser sandwich places. We ordered the orange rolls. Boy, what a disappointment from something that appears to be a source of pride. Almost no frosting. Edges were stale. Not a respectable effort. Save your money. Go to Jimmy John's then stop at the store for some Pillsbury Orange Rolls. You'll be happier. It was clean, but that's easy to achieve when nobody is there. These are prices for a full-service restaurant, but here you are basically serving yourself. Now I understand why this place was completely empty and Drake's (next door) was packed. Disappointing all around.

I ordered online, the food was prepared promptly, and everyone there was nice. It's not a "fancy" place, but everything seemed clean as well. I got a wrap (I basically custom ordered a cobb salad in a wrap) that was delicious--pro tip, add avocado as theirs is fresh and they don't skimp on portions. I just got chips (bagged Lay's) but they have a plethora of other options. Better half got the white chicken bbq. It was basically a grilled chicken sandwich without much hint of white bbq sauce, but was tasty. He enjoyed the roasted veggies, as well. We'll be back.

If you are headed south, they are on the left side of the road. We stopped by today to pick up cheesesteaks from Cap's. This restaurant is takeout only. When we walked inside I saw Miss T and she was smiling. I have told you these are the BEST CHEESESTEAKS in Alabama. I have tried several here in Alabama and Cap's is the BEST. We paid and went outside. Miss T delivered our food quickly. It was great to see her looking so well. Dave ordered two steak philly cheesesteaks. I decided to try a chicken philly. Actually a chicken bacon ranch philly cheesesteak. We got an order of fries too! The steak philly cheesesteaks with provolone are delicious and very satisfying. The soft bread from up north is a wonderful contrast paired with the delicious steak and onions. Absolutely the best! 5/5 The fries were seasoned well. I like that Miss T puts ketchup in the takeout container. Delicious fries and ketchup 5/5 My chicken bacon ranch philly did not disappoint. The meat was deliciously seasoned as only Cap's can do. I added the bacon and ranch to a bite and it was good. I like the chicken and steak philly cheesesteaks the original way Cap's makes them. The bacon and ranch are right up Dave's alley so he enjoyed them. My chicken philly was 5/5. Please support this locally owned business. Cap and Miss T will treat you right. The cheesesteaks truly are the BEST in this area!!! 5/5

Jefferson's is a small, I'd say regional chain that seems to have a tendency to pop up in areas without a ton of dining options; there are locations in places such as Winchester, TN and Scottsboro, AL. Given this pattern, it's a logical addition to Hampton Cove, which has historically had a huge dearth of restaurants despite the population density and relative affluence of the area. We (me, hubs, sis-in-law, and her husband) came for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon about two weeks ago. There were a few other people eating in at the time but they weren't crazy busy. We were seated quickly by our waitress, Shawna, who was great! They have a fairly large menu with a lot of American bar food favorites. Lots of appetizers (buffalo chicken dip, fried mushrooms and pickles, etc). For main entrees, they have wings, burgers, chicken, and somewhat weirdly...oysters? Not going there personally but it is an option! The atmosphere is basic sports bar, but it's clean and airy. There's a lot of seating and they seem to do a brisk carryout business too! BIL had apparently been craving a root beer float and was surprised to see it offered here as a summertime special. He and SIL both got one and declared it very tasty! We also got an appetizer of pretzel bites for everyone to share. The bites were incredibly hot and fresh, and served with beer cheese and "sassy sauce" that was a little like a sweeter honey mustard. We enjoyed them! Everyone except for me had wings (2 bone-in, 1 boneless order) and fries or tater tots. Resoundingly happy all around! My husband did wish he could split the flavors on his wings, but you have to get a really large order (I wanna say like 12+??) to do that, so he settled on one flavor. I had chicken tenders and fries and also enjoyed them! The tenders were very large and quite meaty. The breading could've used a tiny bit more salt or seasoning, but they went well dipped in the creamy ranch. Shawna was a highlight of our experience; without asking, she brought BIL more root beer for his float when he quickly drained the liquid part of it, allowed us to keep the queso and sassy sauce from the appetizer to dip our entree fries in, and was very prompt and patient getting extra sauces and refills as needed. Shout out to Shawna! Will definitely return to try more appetizers or get some yummy bar food or watch a game. Thanks for a positive first experience!
