Ordered 3 burgers and 2 hot dogs for my family, and the first thing was that we have to dig through the Cajun fries to get to our food! They just dumped the fried on top of everything in the bag! Then we all ended up eating our burgers with forks! They wrapped the burgers inside aluminum paper, which made the buns all soggy, so the burgers completely fell apart, and our hands got so messy that eating with forks was the only way we can finish the burgers! They do provide forks for a reason I guess!! The taste was so so at best; their Cajun fries was no match for Jack in the Box curly fries. Not coming back!! read more

I rarely eat red meat, but when I eat a burger, I expect it to be neat and delicious. The cheeseburger we ordered was subpar and very messy. Burger ok In N Out copycat for sure. In N Out is the king of this style burger and five guys can rest assured In N Out will be opening by all there locations in Texas. THE BUN DOES MATTER! Finally tried this place after driving by it several times, and I was pretty impressed. Clean restaurant, quick service, and great tasting food. I ordered the 'Hamburger', a double meat burger with several toppings that come default, and others that can be added on, and a large fries, which was a mistake, because even the regular size fries is huge. The free peanuts are a nice touch as well. The burger came wrapped in foil and it tasted good, I found it slightly reminiscent of burgers that you can get at the rodeo or at a fair. The fries were amazing, they rank right up there with the fries from Wing Stop and you can get them in cajun spice too. Haven't tried those yet, though... Overall, a great meal for a relatively good price. I stopped by this five guys, and as I approached the counter, one of the employees on the grill called out to me, "they don't got no more meat". He repeated himself and the rest of the employees laughed, as it was intended to be a piece of comedy. I was getting new tires on my car and had walked to the five guys and wasn't really in the mood for "no food comedy". Not to mention there were other options nearby. I've heard soooo much about this place being good and I finally had the chance to try it out. The Good: So the cajun fries & burger were ok... ...but that's about it. The Bad: There's nothing really special about Five Guys. The bacon cheeseburger was small with two stacked patties, regular cut soggy fries, and a drink. For being so popular I was expecting more. My go-to burger place (Fudruckers) will remain... Large variety of meats, potato wedges, and they have ranch as well as a better variety of condiments. IMO five guys is a low C grade burger place. I don't see ever going back while there is a Fudruckers around...or even other delicious establishments to choose from. read more

First tried them in my FL hometown after lots of raving from the fam, but wasn't impressed then and certainly haven't been impressed since, even with the half-a-country change of scenery. BF likes the hot dogs but I'd rather stroll across the parking lot and eat Target hot dogs (I think he likes that they're a little charred but, hell, give me a cigarette lighter and I can blacken a Target dog for him). Five Guys Burgers and Fries is super legit. It adds a different twist from what Fuddruckers has to offer. Don't get me wrong, Fudds has the best burgers but Five Guys tastes (good). The interior gives you a feel of what the old days looked like, very original and simple. They serve freshly salted peanuts while you wait for your burger. Everything is indeed made fresh and the kitchen is visible for you to see. I love their Bacon Cheeseburgers! I also love their freshly cut fries with Cajun seasoning!! (Definitely get that). The price will add up to more than $10 but you're paying for a great burger, I guarantee you. They also put more fries than they're supposed to which is awesome. If you are looking for work, do not apply to this company. Despite selling food that is expensive compared to similar places, they will look for any way to cut employees hours way below what should be legal. Don't look for a raise either. In addition, when they do hire new people they give them all the hours and take them away from the people who have been there longest. This is the worst place to work and even worse to eat at. I had Five Guys burgers in California and my craving could not be surpressed any longer so I had to search for the nearest one to my house. This location was easy to find and as soon as I walked in, the workers there greeted my husband and I with a smile and great enthusiasm. I like that they have a menu focused on just burgers and fries. I ordered the cheeseburger, which has two hand formed patties of meat and two slices of cheese! YES! Total glutton fest but hey, you come to a burger place to splurge, not watch and count calories. I love how you can add as many toppings that you want on your burger to customize it the way you want. A huge plus is that you can get GRILLED ONIONS and also GRILLED MUSHROOMS with no extra costs cause the toppings are free! So how about that, having some nice grilled onions on your burger instead of raw ones? The flavor just goes so well with a burger. We also got one REGULAR order of fries. One REGULAR order is enough for 2 people. I am serious! We waited probably less than 5 minutes for our food. They package all orders for dine in like they do with to go. Everything is put in a brown paper bag. You will understand why when you get the bag. So we get our bag and in it is our burgers, which have stickers on them with a number. Basically they save you the trouble of figuring out whose burger is whose in the foil wrapper by putting numbers on it. The numbers indicate the order that you placed your burger order. So I had ordered first and my husband second, my burger had the number "1" sticker on it and his had "2", which corresponded to the receipt/ticket on the bag. Cool ideal and I can see how it saves time sorting if you have a large group order. Under our burgers was a cup of fries and ALOT of extra fries that did not fit the cup. It was like half a bag of fries. The best way to eat these fries is to tear the bag down the middle and spread it out on the table. I swear, you get so many fresh cut french fries with just one regular order! How were the burgers? WOW! The meat was tasty, the toppings were fresh, and you felt that you were getting a good deal as the burger was good and solid in weight. I love the fact that when you ask for jalapenos in your burger, you get FRESH not pickled jalapenos. FRESH jalapenos. Wow. The little details amaze me. I have to say that aside from quality burgers and fries, the employees here sure are nice! I feel that I got a good fast burger and good service for a good price. I do not know if I can say that for alot of burger places. Oh, I need to mention that when you wait for your burger, they have boxes of roasted peanuts to nosh on. They have the little paper trays and you can take as many as you want. i like their burgers. I am afraid they have gone to corporate. the mgr freaked a bit when i came in. i have to bring my own bun in, since i am allergic to wheat. I love their burgers though. there is no junk in them and the fries are real! I had to beg him to put my frozen bun on his grill. i can understand this, i imagine health dept. wouldnt approve. On the other hand my mom likes her burgers burnt and when i say burnt i mean crispy no wiggle. shes strange. he refused said he could not do that. They have real burgers no fillers, real potatoe fries, so why not real tea? The cashier informed us that the regular cheese burger has double patty and the little cheeseburger is a single patty and theres noting little about it!!! The cajun fries are scrumptious. A regular size is nothing small. The drinks are wonderful to choose from!!! Im a raspberry person. Tried Sprite/raspberry...not disappointed at all. While u wait u can eat all the peanuts u want...if ur allergic to peanuts...just leave them alone. You can take to go...not a drive thru...oh but it sure smells good when u walk in. i know i'm going to ruffle a couple feathers with this review, but just like the beatles music, this place is WAY OVER-HYPED!!! - I had their burgers in Virginia when I lived out there and I have actually yet to have any since moving back home to Houston. Everyone else that tries them tells me i have to go have a burger & fries there....but I'm just not "suckin' the sap".....they're fries, although they give you like 4whole potatoes in one order aren't much to write home about....and they are way too soggy to begin with. I have been to many different five guys and have been to this one twice now. I have to say I didn't understand what the fuss was about five guys when I ate at this one. It wasn't until I had eaten at a different location that I finally got it. The bottom line, this location doesn't hold a candle to the other ones. If you go for the first time don't come here. The food is bland. Everything was fresh but it just didn't have the flavor I have had at other five guys. The reason I gave them three stars is for the courteous staff and everything was fresh. Also, I happen to love the coca cola multichoice soda machines and the have my favorite green tea. I wouldn't exactly stay away from this location but you definitely need to go into it knowing what you are expecting. Considering that within a mile you have Becks, fuddruckers, and freebirds, the choices are tough and a restaurant in this area needs to be at the top of their game. read more

The Kids did not complain - but myself and my husband wondered what they are so hyped/ praised for. It was our first visit. Poor looking buns. Greasy tidbits of mushrooms and onions. Two burger patties ok, mine with bacon, his with cheese. Yes, lots of French fries - not golden brown looking. Just wondered whether I could not get this at Wendy's or Whataburger? Will not go again. Ok, the stars are for this particular genre. In the battle of the fast food burgers, I used to lean toward a specific chain out of California that recently made it to Texas. My wife made a point of having us drive to Dallas for the in n' out experience. I have to say, it's just not as good as 5 Guys. As far as stores go, this place is reasonable, the staff is friendly and the service isn't as bad as some stores. This place should be sued as its soo good you'll want to eat it daily and that can't be good for your health! Although its a Burger place, they do try to give you the lesser of the evils by making sure their food contains no preservatives or other bad mojo. You can't beat a good quality burger with nothing but the most fresh toppings on it. Most people don't even know about the grilled hot dogs on the menu, and the fries are cut fresh and piled high! They are a little expensive, but this isn't a typical fast food, frozen patty drive thru machine. Usually when I have a negative experience it isn't post worthy since it doesn't affect the actual meal or the food was at least somewhat enjoyable. I never have my expectations too high either, I expect Taco Bell to be what it is- cheaply made, processed, precooked "tex-mex". So when I went into Five Guys I expected a higher quality hamburger restaurant worthy of paying a little extra. Going in the staff was friendly but no more friendly than any other fast food restaurant. I ordered a bacon hotdog since hotdogs are not common with a large cajun fries. Before I sat down I noticed free salted peanuts are offered- which made me immediately regret my fry purchase. I also didn't understand the point of peanuts (a rather filling snack to sate an appetite while waiting for a lengthy period) When the food arrived the hotdog had been cut down it's length and slightly overcooked. The bacon seemed old and not fresh, the bun...was a squished mess. I ate mine with some condiments which didn't help the state of the hotdog either- but at least it was edible. The fries- they were fresh and there was more than enough- if you do opt to go don't buy the large it was TOO BIG. But the size didn't matter- the fries were coated in what I guess is Tony Chacheres cajun seasoning and salt, so much they were almost inedible. I could tell my blood pressure had risen 20 points just from eating a quarter of the cup they came in. All in all the experience and the food was a solid negative, I cannot find any reason to recommend this restaurant to anyone other than 2 pack a day smokers. read more
