Came in today and the food was good as always, but it was almost 100 degrees outside and it felt just as hot inside. The poor employees looked absolutely drained ,sweating, uncomfortable, and clearly working hard in miserable conditions. As a customer, it was hard to even enjoy the food with how hot and stuffy it was. It honestly felt unsafe for everyone in there. We hadn't been to a Five Guys in awhile, but we have had the pleasure to visit this one a few times. We will definitely be returning. All the employees I've come in contact with at this busy location are pleasant and helpful as can be. From the order-taker to the order-hander, each one does well to make the customer valued. The cashier always has a smile, repeats my order, and the person that hands me my order always asks if I need anything, even though everything is already put out for you to help yourself to. This location is at an extremely busy intersection in a corner strip mall where there are many accidents, so be extra cautious. I think it has something to do with the way the stoplights operate inefficiently plus there is an over-abundance of well-known fast food establishments located here that also get a lot of traffic. Sorta like 'Fast Food Avenue'. Mostly everyone has eaten at a Five Guys already, but if you haven't, here are some tips: When you enter, the walk-up counter is to the right. Grab some local peanuts-in-the-shell to munch on while waiting for your order. Pick your burger; there are numerous choices to make your burger special. If you're getting a cheeseburger, they use only one cheese here, and that is American cheese. The cheese is melted all ooey and gooey over your burger. I usually add fresh tomatoes because the slices are always super ripe and juicy. I ask for lettuce but I get it on-the-side since the heat of the fresh patties sort of cooks it limp. You must get some fresh-cut French fries. Theirs are made from local potatoes, too. A small order actually looks like a large, so keep that in mind. These regular cut fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are a highlight alongside your burger. While you wait for your burger to be freshly cooked, go grab your self-service items at the condiments station: ketchup, mustard, salt, napkins, plastic utensils, straws, everything you need. The wait for your burger and fries is quick. I've never waited long at this location, even during the busiest times. The lean meat burger is cooked well done and has crispy edges yet is juicy. It comes wrapped in foil to keep it hot. The cheese is melty and gooey. The fries come spilling over the teensy container they're served in and end up all over inside your brown paper bag, leaving it greasy. You are looking at yumminess! Dig in! The price point seems to have increased exponentially in just a couple years! An order of two double-patty cheeseburgers and a small fry is $26.00. That doesn't include drinks. But...everything has at least doubled in price in the last year, and at some places of business, that increase has more than doubled. So it could be worse. The higher price point means I will be able to get a delicious Five Guys burger only once in great awhile. read more

Simply the Best Fast Food Hamburger in the industry. The staff is always friendly, good spirits, fun and helpful. Fries cooked in Peanut Oil so they can be eaten by people on a plant based diet. Very few mistakes made and if so they take care of it better than most others in the industry. I always stop by this location to get my burger craving fixed. There is usually no wait to this restaurant and food is served quickly. Employees are nice and helpful. What can I say about five guys burgers that hasn't been said before? Fresh ingredients and delicious meat between every bites. Crunchy lettuce, soft tomato, spicy jalapeno (add that tangy bbq sauce for extra kick) My regular order is one patty with cheese lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, green pepper, onion and mushroom. If I feel adventurous I may go two patty. Now the French fries get me breaking my diet all the time. It doesn't matter what size of fries you order, they will fill your bag up with those golden crispy fresh fries. When I order my usual cajun fries I don't even need ketchup. It's that good. Employees/manager gossip with each other, talking and laughing in an animated fashion while standing right over your food while it is sitting there waiting for the burger to cook for a few minutes and they are preparing the bun and toppings. Then when the meat is placed on the bun they continue to talk and laugh right over it instead of wrapping it up! The person making the burger WAS THE MANAGER and she saw nothing wrong with it. I asked for my money back. Gossip and laugh and talk somewhere else, not over my food!! I don't want your saliva flying into my food. I have filed a complaint with corporate office. You can always count on Five Guys for a tasty burger and fries. This location has a very fun & sweet staff, they always joke around and you can tell they enjoy their job. I always order the little burger but then load it up with grilled onions, mushrooms & jalapenos and am beyond stuffed! Their fries proportions are more than generous so ask what size is appropriate for you or your group before ordering! My mom is gluten free and orders the lettuce wrapped burger and they always ask if it is an allergy or preference. Her's is an allergy so they make sure there is no cross contamination by scraping the grill & taking extra care in handling her food. read more

I moved to Hixson from Atascadero, CA... There is definitely an In-N-Out burger in Atascadero that I absolutely love. This burger was better than In-N-Out. All of the toppings are included, and you can pick and choose what you want on the burger. They have bbq sauce, a1 sauce, mayo, ketchup, mustard, onions, grilled onions, green pepper, grilled mushrooms (portabellas, the good stuff) and a few other things that I can't remember. Soooo delicious. You can tell by the taste that the meat has never been frozen. The fries are cut and made there fresh daily. Delicious delicious. Eat there, you won't regret it. The prices seem a little high looking at the menu but I assure you, they are worth it. read more

This is a spot I've been to time and again and I'm finally going to get around to reviewing it. Yeah sure, Five Guys is a chain, but this particular location does a really job. Service is quick, even during the rush. I have eaten here several times during the lunch rush and I never feel like I'm waiting around for a long time for my meal. The cashiers are friendly and the manager nearly always says hi to me. The burgers always taste fresh, never frozen. Don't let the menu names full you... unless you want a double burger, order the "Little". Little means one 1/4 pound patty. They have a wide variety of fresh, tasty toppings too. Oh, and the fries. I love the fries! A single order of fries is enough for two, maybe three people. It's a little more expensive than most fast food burger joints, but the quality of the ingredients is much better... First of all, when I want a really good burger, I go to Five Guys! The fries, yes the fries are amazing also. Put the Cajun salt on them! Here is my go to meal: - Bacon Cheeseburger (all the way, minus pickles, add jalapeno peppers and hot sauce - Regular Drink (unsweet iced tea) - Regular Fries (don't forget to ask for the extra cajun salt) While you wait for your meal, get some peanuts and munch on those while sipping your drink. When you get your meal, take out the burger and cup of fries. Then tear your bag 1/2 to 3/4 off from the top. Put all your fries in there and mix/shake the bag with the extra cajun salt. I like all the Five Guys, but here is my list from best to not as best :) - Hixson (because the burger is extra good and they are extra generous with the fries) - Mall/Gunbarrel (the regular Five Guys experience, which is extraordinary) - Downtown/Broad Street (they are NOT skimpy on the fries any more!, closest one for me, but I travel to Hixon or Gunbarrel if I want the true Five Guys experience) If only they had milkshakes and/or draft beer... But then again, if they did, Red Robin would go out of business and the steak and shake beside them would not do as well... read more

I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of burgers, but I came here with the family today. Here's my pros and cons: Pros: The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I like how they have the regular size burger and a smaller size burger. I like how you can customize it with different toppings rather than have to leave off all the stuff you don't want. The fountain machine had a lot of options, which is a plus. The burger, as far as burgers go for me, was pretty good. It wasn't overly greasy. The fry serving was generous. Cons: The fries are not good. They are natural cut ones, and they are just soggy. Also, I wasn't happy with the grilled onions. The menu offers onions and grilled onions. I assumed the grilled onions would be cooked, but they were still raw. I ended up pulling them off my burger. I also wasn't a huge fan of the cheese. I think that offering a couple of cheese options might help customize the burger to what the customer likes. Altogether, this place is good but not great. I probably wouldn't go here on my own, but if someone invited me, I would give it another shot. My recommendation is to get the bigger burger and skip the fries. read more
