They gave a copious amount of fries but they didn't have that Cajun flavor. It was mostly black pepper. I'd reconsider this place if you're craving burger and fries. It's a good concept - you can personalize your burger with multiple toppings. There were 2 sizes of fries and 2 flavors. I ordered the mini cheeseburger and the boyfriend ordered the bacon cheese burger and to share we ordered cajun fries. The fries were a little soggy and they were sprinkled with slap your momma seasoning. The regular burger came with two patties and the mini came with 1 patty. The portions were big and were served in a brown bag. I give this place 2 stars for the green packaging - burgers were wrapped in foil and fries in a paper cup and the order was given to us in a brown paper bag. One of the best burger's I have ever had... EVER! The standard burger is around 5 bucks and comes with 2 patty's and toppings? (If that's too beefy for ya, they also have a junior size) and what do u fit into all this? ha! They've got a slew of toppings to satisfy your taste buds! It was my first time here, so I got... well... Everything! Yep, it's that simple to get it ALL! Oink Oink! The fries even came in cups but they definitely taste better with Cajun spices! I also tried a bacon-dog, not bad, not great, but I would definitely return for their burgers! There were about ten people in front of us but the line moved so quickly. So I don't know what all the hype is all about because In-n-out is hands down the BEST burger. I've given Five Guys two tries and both times were equally disappointing, unsatisfying, and not worth the wait. I like the idea of being able to add whatever toppings you want but some of the things, I think just ruin the burger and take away from it. So I actually kept my classic so I could really compare it to an In-n-Out burger. We ate at the restaurant and the time from when they finished the burger to it appearing in front of me was just enough time for the bread to get nice and soggy. Unbelievable! I mean it doesn't look like the buns were even toasted but apparently they were because I lifted the bun to see the toast marks. I blame the fact that they wrap the whole burger in foil (which I don't get either. What a waste of foil, at least wrap it in paper so you can compost) so it keeps the heat in which causes moisture. So my soggy burger was a giant mess. Poorly constructed, every bite just made the burger messier and messier and soon it didn't even resemble a burger anymore. The meat was meh - overcooked and dry. We also order fries. They like to have thick fries - which is fine if they cooked it properly. They didn't. They were soggy, limpy and sooooo thick that if you stuff to many in your mouth, you might choke because it gets hard to swallow. So we didn't even bother finishing them. Really people, just stick to In-n-Out. They know their burgers way better than this place. read more

Yeah there's definitely more beef than In and Out's burgers and it was more filling..however there was nothing that made it taste better unfortunately unless you just prefer mayo over that thousand island stuff at the other place. The fries..was fresh cut..but their style of cooking it makes it taste like the overcooked kinda dark brown type of fries people usually end up making at home. To start, I have been a fan of Five Guys for almost 20 years - having lived at it's birthplace in Washington, DC. I've been to dozens of locations all over the country. I generally really like Five Guys, but this location (as in most in California) falls short. Three challenges: 1) This region apparently sources it's beef differently. It's quite bland, as others here have mentioned. 2) Prices are crazy high. I know this is California, but a regular cheeseburger, fries and a drink for $17.00? Even locations in New York and Chicago are in the $12 - $14 range for the same thing. 3) The staff here are decent, but are all super young and things fall apart easily - long wait times, sloppy food preparation, etc. I guess you get what you pay for - but again, my combo was $17.00. I downloaded the Five Guys app to my Android. I've been wanting to see what the hype is about. The app gave me directions to Dublin and before I headed out I placed my order; burger, fries and soda. Kept the burger simple, let, tom, onion, mayo, must, ketch Got to 5guys and there was a line of 25 or 30 people. Walked over to the Pick Up and asked if I had to get in line. Guy asked, "Last name?" Walked over and grabbed my order. Very nice. Good burger. Good fries. Both probably better since I walked right past the line. Something to be said for instant gratification. Went here last night, (not my choosing, was with friends) but I remained quiet and let things go. I was pleasantly surprised; this time the burger held together and the meat was obviously seasoned well. Did not tempt fate and ordered a regular fries this time, instead of the Cajun ones. Although some of the fries were overdone (brown) I would rather have that than the previous soggy fries. All-in-all a marked improvement since my April experience. Obviously, they have had someone who has listened to the reviews and worked at producing a better product. Good burgers loaded with toppings. If you are into the beef, get the burger. If you're like me, I like the tasty toppings, so I get the little cheeseburger. It has one patty instead of two, get it with everything, it's very tasty. If you get fries, they give you enough for about 4 people, so I never get them anymore, I don't like trowing away so much food. The best thing about five guys is that you get to put whatever you want on the burger at NO EXTRA COST!. This means you can get extra mushrooms, bell peppers, grilled onions all with no extra charge. I really dont get the 3 star rating or how they can be rated lower than In and Out. Dont get me wrong I am an In and Out fan but this place blows In and Out away! Cant believe i just tried them for the very first time. Came in late after a movie only a few people in the place and I counted 7 employees working! I ordered a regular burger with grilled onions, fries and a shake for my son. They cooked it fresh in a little under 10 minutes. Peanuts are an odd touch for a burger place but a nice bonus, love nuts! Got burger and stupid me didn't realize you need to tell them exactly what you want on the burger or it has nothing on it. Went back to retrieve condiments and dressed it and Oh it was so good! Juicy and flavorful and cheesy. Excellent burger, good quality meat and not skimpy on the meat like the other place. Fries were fresh, thick and delicious and they gave me a ton and I only ordered a small. Son said shake was too sweet. Only reason I could see some people docking a star is the price is more than most places but in this case you get better quality, tons of topping choices and a huge amount of fries so well worth it IMO. I was a huge fan of the Taxi's that used to be at this address, but I finally decided to suck it up and give Five Guys a try. Kinda wishing I didn't bother. Ordered a little (1 patty) bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, onions, tomato and BBQ sauce with a side of regular fries. The burger came out wrapped in foil, a smart move for takeout customers. Top half of the bun was cold, which I thought was weird, but the rest of the burger was decent. Nice crisp bacon, plenty of juice in the patty, and the veggies were fresh. And kudos to Five Guys for making the bazillion or so topping options all free--nice touch. Normally that'd be enough to merit three stars, but then I tried the fries. BLECH! Soggy, bland, overly warm...if these things get high marks from critics on the East Coast, then they must make some really shitty fries on that side of the Appalachians. Bottom line: The burgers are definitely worth a try, but ask them to toast the buns so you avoid my problem. And speaking of avoidance, that's also what you should do about their fries. read more

Ok, you know Five Guys is going to be compared to In & Out. The burgers are bigger - but it should be for the price. I like a smaller burger so I opt for the Kiddie Menu. The fries are plentiful to share. We order one order for up to 3 people and get our fill. Love, love the peanuts and the plentiful seating. Five Guys wins on the peanuts, seating, and fried. Ok, not gonna lie, this was the best cheeseburger I've ever had. Hands down. I went for the Cajun fries, which also were really good. No need to order the large fries unless you need to feed 20 people. They fill the bottom of your bag with fries, so the regular size ended up being too many. The thing I loved about this place was that it was so well streamlined. Even though you can put what ever toppings you want on your burger (for no additional charge!) and every order came out perfectly and no one was running around the kitchen like a chicken with its head cut off! Five Guys serves up a good, tasty burger. This location in Dublin doesn't disappoint - Clean interior, friendly staff, quick service, good food. The kitchen is wide open so you can always keep an eye on everything the staff is doing. There's nowhere to hide! I usually get "Everything" on my burger. You can also nitpick and choose which toppings you want. I'm a bit lazy though so I just order everything and keep it movin'. The fries here are also a cut above other similarly-priced burger joints. They give you a lot of fries, so you could probably order a large for your whole group to share. Oh yeah, in the eternal east/west war between In-N-Out and Five Guys, I have to say that I like this place better. It's a little pricier than In-N-Out but the topping choices alone put Five Guys on top. They also give you complimentary peanuts while you wait for your order. This is currently my favorite burger place. I like being able to order a smaller burger and put different toppings on it. The crew is courteous and attentive. I also like the sode machine with so many choices. I have one negative comment: They have a bulletin board and 3X5 cards that you can write on and leave your comments. I wrote a comment on a card and posted it on the board. About 5 minutes later, one of the employees came over to the board, removed my card, and threw it in the trash. The comment was not a negative one, it was "consider serving sweet potato fries." I just would like to know why they appear to want feedback, but the employees don't. I have read that you can order a grilled cheese and add a patty, and end up with a patty melt. I haven't tried this yet. read more

The burger was great! I had the double-patty cheeseburger. I appreciate that I can choose from all those toppings! Loved the grilled mushrooms. The Cajun fries... Not so much. Way too much seasoning. Way way too much. The regular fries were a little better, but we had to throw away 1/3 of them because they were burnt or soggy. I was also so happy to see cherry coke! You don't find that often. Another note, and I don't mind much because I don't like ice cream, but my friend was pretty disappointed they didn't have milkshakes. I don't see why they wouldn't? Like any red blooded American I like cheeseburgers. Val's in Castro Valley is the gold standard for the diner/sit down burger, Slow club in SF and 900 Grayson in Berkeley are my favorite "upscale" burgers and In n Out is my favorite drive thru/fast food. Five Guys falls in the fast food category. My mother in law, who lives on the East Coast, has raved to us about five guys for some time now and I was very excited to try it. We knew the lines would be crazy so we ordered online. Their online ordering system is very efficient, loved it. I also like how they tell you where the potatoes and beef are sourced from. As for the food...the cajun fries where nice. The burger was nothing special, reminded me of Nations. Good, but not worth waiting in line for. It's like a good homemade burger and it has nothing on In N Out. The main flaw is the bun, it just tastes like a normal store bought bun. The In N Out bun is phenomenal, the way they grill it so perfectly. In fact, I would probably rather get a burger from fuddruckers if I was at this shopping center and wanted a burger. read more

Called in a phone order at 8:30 pm. No one answers phone. Tried back half an hour later. No answer still. I drive down and It's not busy. I called the main line while in line.... see the cashier look at phone and pay no attention? Issue number one- answer your phone. I go to order my meal- no grilled onions I was told but they have normal uncooked onions?? Um, you have uncooked onions and a big grill behind you.....just grill the onions ?!??? Second issue. Third issue- they ran out of fries, well not exactly. By now it was 30 min to closing and they didn't want to prep any fries???Do your job. If you have fries. Make them. At this point 10 customers were told there were no fries when these kids just didn't want to prep them. Overall- the all employees seemed more interested in shutting the door early vs serving customers. If you are open until 10 am as it states on your website and the doors- then serve people correctly until then. There didn't seem to be a real manager. Customers were looking at each other like who runs this place. Owners need to set these guys straight that this is a place of business. The kids turned off the store music and started blasting rap- which I don't mind, but there were kids in the store and you're hearing f this and that coming from the kitchen.
