The Dr wanted Subway for the office, so I went here since it's close to the office. It was very clean inside, the 2 people working were friendly and helpful. I don't go to Subway very often, but it was good! I got a turkey sando, add their new chipotle sauce plus all the extras. I wanted to try their ghost pepper bread, but they were out of it. Subway has a deal right now, buy one foot long and get another free. Basically that's 4 six inch subs for around $14.00. You have to order online to get the deal. I ordered from this location. The ordering system is easy to use and took my payment fine. The order was made at the correct time I went to pick up and all is good. Service was fast and efficient and I have no complaints. Paid online, so all I had to do was go in say my name and they give me the order! Can't get much easier than that . While the food is consistent with Subway standards, the service is not. Today I arrived at the store at 5:15pm and they were closed although they advertise on Yelp and their signage at the store that they are open until 7pm on Sundays. I have had similar experiences with 2 of the last 4 trips to this Subway. Sad to say but I will not return. I went in yesterday to buy 2 sandwiches to go for a field trip. I first asked if I could use an online coupon, and they said yes, but I had to order online. So I sat there and ordered on my phone (yay for modern technology!) and they made them for me there and then, allowing me to customize the sandwiches further by telling them the adjustments that I wanted. The guy was kind and patient, and the sandwiches were delicious, even after several hours. They also allowed the coupons to be applied to any sandwich, NOT just the classic sandwiches! O.M.G! Terrible experience. Sadly, I can't give this place the zero star rating it deserves. I blame the store's management 100% for today's fiasco. Should've taken the hint when the customer ahead of me said "check your order, they got our order wrong, we've been waiting forever, and they dont speak any English" 1. There was literally only ONE person working the restaurant: taking calls, making sandwiches, making bread, cleaning, etc. 2. The person spoke zero English. I'm sorry, but if you hire someone to work in a customer service role, they MUST have some basic understanding of the local language. Period. 3. It appears to have been the employee's first day, as he was having trouble with the register, and when I walked in, was on a video call with the boss, showing the point of sale screen, and asking questions and trying to get through the transaction. OK. So I finally got my refund. I dunno...if there's a computer glitch you would think it would be much easier to get a refund, especially for such a large company. I had to call the owner before I went there. Call the owner when I got there. And then the message got mixed up where I had to explain myself twice. It's quite a frustrating experience. Bought a footlong tuna sandwich on two separate occasions (well, a family member got it for me the second time not knowing how bad the first experience had been). The lack of tuna on the sandwich both times was stunning. The only way to adequately describe the sandwich was tuna flavored bread. It was like they spread one tablespoon of tuna over the entire sandwich. The vegetable toppings were the same - meager to say the least. The fact that it happend twice indicates that this is the norm for this location. I've had subway many times at many locations and the only way this could occur is if the owner is training or encouraging the employees to put as little on the sandwiches as possible, likely to be cheap and save money. I contacted Subway customer service about this, requested a refund and was told the owner would reacy out to me. But that never happened. I was having a bad day coming from the Subway location on Jack London Blvd across from the outlets, and this location on Hopyard road has turned my mood around :) . The workers here are really nice and had my order ready quickly. I was even able to use my mailed coupon here. It was clear that this location on Hopyard actually cares about their customers. A big difference from the location across from the outlets who canceled my online order because they wanted to be stingy over a couple dollars and claim that they don't accept coupons (which they do, the app shows them as a participating location and my transaction went through and my card was successfully charged but they just wanted to scam and get more money from me so they went out of their way to physically cancel my order and try to convince me to pay more money once I got there for my pickup order). This location on Hopyard has my business now for treating their customers nicely and for providing good and quick service. I placed my order online the same exact way I did at the other place but over here they made my sandwich as it was ordered and did not give me any hassle at all. In the past, I have ordered spinach and/or tomato wraps with either veggie patty or veggie delight just fine. It wasn't awful but yet, it's still Subway. Just like McDonald's, you can expect a certain level of consistency and a lack of great ingredients. When we stopped, the shopping center parking lot was really full. It was difficult to find a spot. There wasn't one customer in the store until we entered. That worried me. It didn't look dirty but it didn't look clean either. The people behind the counter were friendly and efficient, but I could hardly hear them, and we had to repeat ourselves several times. I got half an Italian BMT, which is the only sandwich I (sort of) like. I don't really care whether it's 6 inches long or 5.5--it's half a sandwich. The bread at Subway still disappoints, but it's not nearly as bad as when I first tried their stores in 1990. Their meats and cheeses are McDonald's-quality choices. Don't expect much.
