The burger buns are eggy, but the patty is dry and flavorless. Dozens of toppings at no extra charge. You'll need them to counteract the dullness of the patties. Don't be fooled by the sizes of the fries. A "small" size without the burger could fill you up, while a large could feed a family of four. They are nice and crispy, with the perfect amount of seasoning. It is located right next to a theatre in a huge shopping center. As long as it isn't during holidays or weekends, parking usually isn't too big of a hassle. The restaurant is medium sized, but the air conditioning tends to make the restaurant cold and windy all the time. Eh. really just eh. for how much hype, how much they self promote themselves i really dont get the buzz. from what i hear and read....best burger? awesome price? negatiiiive! I got the bacon cheese burger with everything on it. the works. with fries and a drink. as far as the service and speed i can give that to them for the volume of burgers they have to put out as well as their consistency since i have been here more than once. I really wanted to like this place but the burger was mediocre. The fully loaded burger barely stayed in between the tiny soggy buns and this was all the times i came here not just once. The fries came in large portions but got really, not just soggy but like wet sitting inside the paper bag and im not a slow eater. People compare this to IN-N-OUT. which i dont think is a proper comparison. This is the second time I've been to a Five Guys. The first was a few years ago in Florida. I can't say that I'm any more impressed with Five Guys now than I was the first time I ate there. The Dublin Five Guys was packed and the wait to get my order (small burger, regular fries) was about 10 minutes (much longer than I expected). The burger was absolutely unremarkable. The burger patty itself was bland and not juicy. The toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickle) were good and fresh, so that's the one star. The fries were amazing...they were overflowing the cup they came in and filled up a good part of the bag. Even had they been good, I wouldn't have wanted that much. But they weren't good. They were amazingly bad. Soggy, ridiculously salty. It tasted as though they had been microwaved and then bathed in salt. It's a rare day when I go anywhere near fast food places, so perhaps I am biased against this type of food. But if this is any indication of what the best of the fast food places has to offer, I'd be happy never eating fast food again. read more

So. After hearing so much hype about this place, we finally tried it the other night. And honestly, I don't understand what the big deal is about. It's a decent burger joint, but there's nothing special about it. The Burger: Hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger. All come with two patties unless you ordered the "Little" size (which comes with 1 patty). You have a variety of toppings. Went with "everything" plus jalapenos and hot sauce. The burger was okay, cooked well and tasty. The Fries: We opted for the cajun fries because they were spicier. The fries did not disappoint. The cajun spices added a nice lil kick. There wasn't any ranch (yes, I'm that girl who eats fries w/ranch dressing), but no biggie. The atmosphere: It was prime time at 7:30pm on a Friday night. I'm talking, tables = hot commodity type of busy. People were on the sidelines just waiting to prey on the next empty table. Amusing and freaky at the same time. Four stars solely for the Cajun fries and Diet Coke machine of the future. Despite being very busy, this place is a well oiled machine. Orders came out fast and hot and the service was friendly. It seems it can be difficult to find a table during busy hours, but they are constantly cleaning up when people leave. I tried out the veggie sandwich mainly because I have this disgusting craving for mayo and pickles....together. It was ok. Very messy, so I ate about half before giving up. The burgers were okay (though a note that the regular, versus the "little" size I think it was -- means two patties, more than I needed), but the fries, well, I'll spare you the details, but the upset stomach was there and all of the related drama that goes with such things. Four of us went, including one who brought in a chicken burger from Fuddruckers -- she doesn't do the beef burger thing -- and she also had the tummy drama, having only eaten the fries, thus, our suspect. I have been wanting to sink my teeth into a proper chunk of read meat for a minute now... i rarely eat it so when I get a taste for it , its a must do situation. We had lunch. I ordered the double cheese burger with A-1 sauce and mushrooms. I forget what my lunch date had... we also ordered french fries to share. I tried this place out for the first time after hearing all the hype about their burgers. First impression walking in was of an old, greasy burger joint. The teenager that took my order was sick and sniveling, so I wasn't too excited from that point on. I ordered a cheeseburger and thought that was all I had to say, but realized there are a load of topping choices. I scanned it quickly and asked for mushrooms and onions. My dad got the same thing. Our order came somewhat quick, in the ballpark of five minutes. During that time I noticed a box of peanuts that other patrons were sticking their hands into which put me off as well. Guess I can't dock the place for that; they don't have control over their customers. The burger itself was pretty overpriced. I'm guessing they charge about $5 per burger with the assumption that you'll put all the toppings on. It's not fair to those who maybe literally just want a cheeseburger. Taste-wise, it was dripping in grease. More so than Nation's Burgers in Fremont. I didn't know the standard cheeseburger came with two burger patties... Unexpected, but okay I guess. The mushrooms didn't even taste like anything. The consistency of the 'shrooms were very rubbery, and we concluded it had to have come from a can. Worth one try, and that's it. In-N-Out is a way better choice. And if you are in this area, Fuddruckers will satisfy the burger craving WAY better. Burgers look like ones you'd get at a random BBQ, and due to close quarters... You're sitting really close to messy people. I was surprised by the fact that the bacon on the burger was crispy, but that did not help in the overall taste. Not worth the hype. The fries here are amazing, whether cajun style or Five Guys style. I'm fine with the burgers, although others might say they lack flavor. Keep in mind that the regular-sized burgers are actually huge, so I recommend choosing the smaller burgers if you prefer burgers that are easier to hold and eat. The service is usually prompt, but expect longer waits to order and pick up orders when the place is crowded. This place is amazing when I'm on my cheat day from the gym during the week once a month. I always get the little baby burger with everything not pickles and the food comes out hot and delicious. Never warm, wet and soggy like the HABIT. Plus don't forget the fries! The Cajun spiced fries are amazing and they really season them well every time. Customer service is always on point and the staff works in great unison. Only 1 complaint! I know it is called the "little cheeseburger" it should also have a "little" price. The burger was like 4 dollars. I like the mushrooms in the burger with no charge and the jalapenos ARE AMAZING! I was a bit skeptical adding it in my burger since ordinary jalapenos have that extremely pickled/sour taste and soggy at times. But the jalapeno on this burger was crunchy with a SLIGHT tang. To be honest I was not that impressed. My burger was cold, the buns were soft and flat as hell, and the fries were too soggy with not enough crunch. I'd say the best part about my whole meal was the patty, it was a good size that was crusty with good flavor, etc. But the patty is not supposed to make the burger, it's the whole combination of the burger like the patty, buns, condiments, etc. And it was pretty much lacking in all of those. The line was also way too long but since they just opened up I kind of expected that. The upside is that you get a lot of toppings for the Cheeseburger, so don't forget to add them all in. You get a lot of fries too, so I'd stick with 1 regular size per 2 people. Seriously! The restaurant used to be Taxi's until they switched over. They seem to have done a really good job with the interior by making it spacious (took all the clutter out, like the old arcade games and the booths). I got the little bacon cheese burger with grilled mushrooms, lettuce, and tomatoes. My friend got the little cheese burger with everything. We also got an order of regular sized Cajun fries. The burgers were delicious. I personally thought that it taste better than In N Out because it was more fresh and the burger was big for being "little." I could only imagine how big a regular burger must be. We had to choke down the Cajun Fries. It tastes nothing like Cajun Fries. It tastes and smells like Chicken Flavored Cup Noodles on fries. The portion of the fries were huge and we felt bad wasting it but it was just too unappetizing. Next time we'll settle for regular fries. Whenever my friends and I are feeling like flipping the bird to our diets, we venture over to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. There are a lot of reasons why this place is awesome. The staff has always been really nice. They do their jobs, and they do them well. Very solicitous, friendly, and cheerful. UNLIMITED TOPPINGS. When I order my burger (I usually get the bacon burger--yes, unfortunately bacon DOES cost extra), I get it with mushrooms, jalapenos, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and green peppers. That futuristic wonder of a vending machine. It's touch screen and has all these sub-menus of soda variations that I'd never even heard of. (ORANGE coke???) Free peanuts! Near the register they have, like, a giant TROUGH of free peanuts. I never take any but I see a lot of people munching while they wait in line. By the far door there's a bulletin board with crayons and index card. You can make an illustration and pin it up to the cork board with a pushpin and leave your mark. My friend and I made one! It was really fun. There are some really great artists who frequent this place! (Can you guess which one is mine? I bet you can't.) The music's pretty good too, if you like loud, old hard rock (I do). Last time I went there, they were playing Loverboy's "Everybody's Working for the Weekend." Note: they are VERY generous with their fries. I usually figure fry sizes run small, so when I went the first time, I ordered a "regular." I received an overflowing bag of fries. So the next time I got a "small." It was about what I'd thought the regular would be like. I can almost never finish them and end up throwing half away. This was my very first time at Five Guys! The person who took our order was nice. I kept asking for things they didn't have there. Such as avocado and ranch. I love avo on my burgers and ranch with my fries. I also asked for my fries to be extra crispy and he said they can't do that either. So I wouldn't say that Five Guys as a company is customer friendly, but the person working there was! He agreed about fries with ranch and he asked the cooks to make my fries extra crisp for me. Only eat here if I'm already here shopping or going to the movies. Huge parking lot but almost always full. Burger is good but not something I would go out of my way for. Not a fan of the fries. Huge portion but I always find them cold and dried up. Except for the patty, the rest of the burger is kind of cold, too. I watched them make my order. The bun was laid out on a counter and topped with fixings. Then it sat and waited while the patty finished cooking. Wish the bun was toasted. By the time the patty was done and the burger was assembled, it was almost a good 10 minutes. Also don't care for the hand-spun milkshake. I prefer thick, cold and creamy shakes. This one was chilled but not cold. It was slightly thickened but still so runny that I had no problem sipping it up through a straw. I am all about a great meal. This is a great little find for those of us who can get tired with IN-N-OUT's simple menu. The menu at Five Guys is not complex, but it has enough diversity to keep you happy for quite a while. You start by ordering either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or a bacon burger (all of these have 2 patties), or a small (which has 1 patty). There are all kinds of toppings to choose from, starting with the basics and ending with hot sauce, grilled mushrooms or green peppers. They edge ahead of IN-N-OUT by offering an honest to goodness grilled cheese (ever order a grilled cheese at the other place? They slap a cold piece of cheese between 2 buns and call it good- just saying). The fries are fresh potatoes, you can taste the difference. They offer 2 different sizes and you can have it 5 guy style (with sea salt), or Cajun, which is a refreshing option. They do not offer milkshakes (but Coldstone is right next store), however, they do offer 3 different diet drinks on their drink bar- Coke Zero, Sprite Zero and Caffine Free Diet Coke. It's a nice assortment. They also have peanuts (but you have to look for them next to the condiment bar). Ok, now to the nuts and bolts of how it tasted. The meat was fresh and very lean without being dry. I ordered cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, green peppers and A-1. It tasted really good. The staff works like a well oiled machine (let's face it- you can't mindlessly slap food together if every burger is different, you have to pay attention and read the tags). I am about the pickiest person on how much sauce goes on my food. This place does very well- you can taste everything without it being too much or too messy.
