I have eaten at this location about 10 times over the past two years but I'm going less and less. Burgers and fries taste is great but there are three issues for me. First one is the grease that gets on you and in your clothing. You really have to plan on wearing something that you can wash right after. Second issue is the eating area isn't being cleaned as often as before. Third issue, and this one bothers me the most, is the food is cold by the time they call your number. I was watching what they were doing and it amounts to the staff leaving your burgers open, prepared and just sitting there while they do other things. Burgers must have sat there for 3 minutes, open and getting cold. Cold food, dirty eating area and you stink when you leave, isn't a winning combination. read more

Not Just Another Burger Joint Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Derry, NH is my new favorite burger joint. We went there the other day and if you're looking for a greasy delicious burger with fresh cut fries, Five Guys is the place to go. Five Guys has succeeded by going back to the basics. On a blackboard in the "pick up" area of the restaurant, you can learn which farm the potatoes for your french fries came from. Five Guys has done an excellent job of fine tuning the way the burger line works. As an open concept kitchen line, it was easy to see what the whole process was like. We walked in the restaurant and headed to the counter. The way to the counter was lined with potatoes and roasted peanuts. We both ordered a cheese burger with our own toppings. I had sautéed onions and mushrooms with mayo and ketchup. My partner had lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the sautéed onions. Each burger comes with as many or as little toppings as you'd like for no extra charge. I loved that the toppings did not cost extra. I'm sick of being charged a dollar for a slice of cheese at other places. The burgers were the quality and size of a Fuddruckers burger but tasted like a Wendy's burger. Sounds like a perfect combo for me. We also ordered a small French fry to split. This was more than enough food for both of us. I loved the music choice in the dining room. It was like a playlist from my own iPod. Unfortunately, it is not all good reviews for Five Guys. Looking behind the line, we could tell that the floor hadn't been swept in awhile. In my book, the line should be clean before employees are going out for cigarette breaks. The seating area leaves something to be desired. It is extremely cluttered. Five Guys could take a lesson from Chipotle's seating concept, and space it out some. Getting rid of a row of tables would make significant difference. However, these are easy fixes. We will most certainly return to Five Guys for our next burger fix. read more

Not bad, but I am not in love with the place like others. I would pick over regular fast food any day, but it is about double the price. I am impressed that the burgers stay really juicy in spite of them being well-done. The fries are alright-(not one of my favorite foods so I wish they had onion rings). Big portions...every time I go, I get the regular burger which is a double patty-but then wish I would have gotten the smaller version because I am way overly stuffed at that point. The free peanuts while you wait are a nice touch. They keep it very clean inside, but it isn't as spacious as I thought it would be and it certainly gets busy. I couldn't eat this stuff all the time, but it is worth the stop once every couple months, and my kid asks to go there. I think he likes the name mostly! read more

I would give this a three star, but the fries is what did it for me. First off the bugers: I love how you can pick whatever you want on the burger and size. You can get refillable drinks, and the food is pretty fast on coming out. The fries are just horrible. I HATE double fried french fries. Its tasteless, and you cant get them anyother way besides the original way they come and the cajun fries(I wouldnt even try them). Now, im not allergic to peanuts, but this place is just covered in peanuts. Im just waiting for them to be on the news because of someone having a reaction. When I first tried 5 Guys in Nashua, I did not really like it. I think I might have put too many condiments on the burger. And I'm more of a crunchy fries guy. So when they opened the Derry store I decided to try them out again. And I am glad I did! Now I just get sautéed onions mushrooms and jalapenos. The burgers are delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still wish the fries were crunchy but oh well its worth the sacrifice for me. I go there with my kids just about once a week read more

If there is one of these restaurants in your location and you have a burger and fry craving run don't walk to this establishment. The quality of the product is so far superior to the typical fast food variety burger and fries as to be totally uncomparable. The burgers are fresh and meaty and the fries are hand cut from whole potatoes. All of the toppins on your burger are free and you can select what ever you want. The fries are not up to the quality of say Pier Fries at Old Orchard or Fair fries but they are so much better than the usual frozen variety you get in most places. read more

I like my burgers rare and 5 Guys only does well but my BIL convinced me to give them a shot. The food quality is better than McD's or Burger King, about on par with Wendy's if you get something fresh cooked from Wendy's (one thing in 5 Guys favor is they cook to order). They are as pricey as Fuddruckers but Fuddruckers beats them hands down on quality. What prompted me to write a review was the horrible quality of the production. The place was empty when I went there and one person had as much time as they needed to make the only order in the place, my burger with just ketchup. What did I get? A package containing a sea of ketchup with a burger and a bun floating around in there somewhere. The kind of frenzied massive overzealous ketchup application that results in half of the quart of ketchup being squeezed out of the bun when it is wrapped evenly coating the inside of the wrapper and the outside of the bun in gooey red ketchup-y-ness. I mean I like ketchup, I wouldn't have ordered a burger with just ketchup if I didn't. The guy who made my burger seemed to think that a burger is nothing more than a ketchup delivery system or perhaps he was behind in his quota for ketchup use and decided to catch up (no pun intended) using my burger. I never have issues when I come to this location. My order is always correct and done in a timely manner. The employees are very friendly and go out of your way to enjoy your meal. There are so many options; I love that you can customize to your liking. I like to put a ton of stuff on my burger so this is perfect. Arrived at store for pick up no one asked me for my name,order etc.......My order sat on the counter waiting for fries for ten minutes while the staff overlooked my order. I eventually had to speak up and ask for someone to complete my order which is now cold.I spoke to manager who said sorry and never offered to remake my order so it would be fresh and hot as I had hoped.They should retrain the staff or replace them including the manager. Went to 5 guys tonight. Ordered cheeseburger with lettuce tomatoes grilled onions pickles and bbq sauce. Was told they had no tomatoes they ran out. Ok? I got my burger and unwrapped it. I immediately noticed that the lettuce seemed odd. I lifted the bun to reveal it wasn't lettuce at all, it was green cabbage in big chunks. I went to the manager and was told they ran out of lettuce and they sent a worker to the store to buy lettuce and they bought cabbage by mistake. I told the manager that they needed to tell customers of the ingredient change because of food allergies. I was completely ignored as I was with a party of 10 and another 10 people came in after us and not one person was informed of the ingredient change. Not cool, someone could die do to your ignorance!!!! Please do better so you don't hurt someone. I am sure that is not your intention but if you do not make the necessary changes and communicate to your customers the ingredients you are giving them, you are being negligent.
