I really like Five Guys as a restaurant because you know exactly what you are expecting.. a perfectly cooked juicy fresh burger that is topped off with a bag exploding with French fries. Specifically this Five Guys staff members impressed me as they all worked as a team and were super efficient. I would recommend just getting a regular size or large fry to share between 2-3 people as they really love to toss lots of extra fries into the bag which is 100% okay with me. I believe that going all the way with the toppings color coded black on the menu are the way to go with a burger. All of the different flavors and sauces combine together perfectly. I look forward to continuing to have Five Guys and visiting this location again soon. read more

I mean, it's a Five Guys. I was a on a work trip and the client suggested Five Guys for lunch so who was I to say no? The layout is just like any other 5G outpost but the service was pretty good. They didn't seem disinterested or checked out. I ended up getting a burger with fixin's wrapped in lettuce and was surprised how easily it held up. There were four of us in the group and three of us ordered fries which was more than enough for everyone to have and then some. Word of warning: when you order a large fry, the extra helping of fries (per the CEO of five guys) is built into the price of the fries. The extra helping is to make the customer feel like they got their moneys worth. This location will not give you the extra helping that's included in it. Why would 5 guys winter spring summer and fall keep the ac on so you freeze? This place has become ridiculous with the ac. We went in for the last time. It's like the North Pole!! Doesn't the manager understand when people are wearing Parker's in the summer time in your establishment something might be up?? For this I can only give 1 star. And they usually tell you oh corporate runs our HVAC from their office somewhere out in the Midwest. Ya ok and there's a bridge for sale in Omaha. After driving around with my husband trying to decide where to grab a quick bite to eat we decided on our local Five Guys again. I had to write this review this as soon as I got home. The restaurant itself was so clean and organized and our burgers and fries were excellent. But, what really moved me to write this review was how the manager really motivated the kids to work. He was talking how they need to each take breaks after a certain amount of hours worked. You could tell that he was proud of his work and of these kids. We like this place, and we have been here several times. Yes, it does get busy and the staff sometimes doesn't keep up with cleaning, but we've never encountered any real problems, as we did at the new Salem location. Any staff member will come right out and clean up a few tables if you ask. The staff seems to have that 5 Guys spirit that you see in most of the locations, which means the management is doing a decent job. Always a good sign, in my opinion. Also, the good food always comes out nice and hot, and the soda machines always work, and the ketchup dispensers are always ready to go. We have never had a bad experience here, as I have seen in some of the other reviews. In fact, we have always had a positive experience here, and we will continue to visit. read more

I used door dash so I am not sure who is responsible for poorly packed meal, french fries spilled in bag. The bag was soaked with oil so before I got upstairs the bag ripped. Driver left order at the garage instead of the front door as requested. He left the shake on the hot drive way and didn't notify me order was there. I got a notice from my door bell activity. I'm not sure why this place get such a high rating. My first visit ever to a five guys was last night, I was absolutely not impressed. Fast food concept totally get it I knew it I was walking into. However my burger was actually less impressive then say Wendy's. We ordered five burgers one fry and three drinks in the bill was $60!!!! On my last visit, didn't I just finally stop being blinded by my bacon cheeseburger long enough to ask the lady just what kind of dog Five Guys would serve? And didn't I just find out that they serve a natural casing Hebrew National as their dog of choice? Hoo damn, that's my kinda dog! Only problem is that I was jonesing for a bacon cheeseburger. Now I can eat ... but even I can't do a burger, fries (split w/ a friend) AND a jumbo Hebrew National. Something to look forward to. Plus ... while we were eating, what did we see but Mr. Man with his clipboard and his Five Guys polo shirt. Add a major side of respect for my Five Guys because Mr. Man was there to do some serious checking out. Like *serious*. Mr. Man checked that the glass on the doors was clean. Mr. Man checked out the boxes of potatoes that line the way to the ordering counter. Mr. Man even opened the trash container *and* pulled the bag up to make sure there weren't no unwanted visitors down there -- if-u-know-what-I'm-sayin'. That was just the last few minutes while we were finishing up. I can't imagine how much more checking out Mr. Man was gonna pull before he finished up. But I'm glad for it. We stopped after apple picking at a local farm. Too lazy to cook so we thought we thought we would give them a try. We had gone to Five Guys in Manchester NH about a year ago, and not too impressed. I thought I saw their name on a sign a short time ago, so we decided to see if the chain was consistent, we really wanted it to be better. We were not disappointed. Sunday afternoon, 3:30, only one other customer when we came in. Helped ourselves to the free peanuts, ordered two cheeseburgers with different toppings. Picked our own table, filled up our own drinks, and started on the peanuts, waiting for our order. After about four minutes I went up to the pickup area to wait for our order. Open area allowed me to watch the grilling and assembling process, pretty structured and methodical. I saw they had two sizes for the fries, plus another "extra" tray. When they bagged the order, one was a small fry, got the small container full, PLUS the "extra" portion. The other one had a large fry, got the large container full PLUS the "extra" portion! So when we opened the bags at the table, we had overflowing servings of fries. The burgers were good, missed the charcoal flavor from Burger King, but they were fatter than other burger shops, juicier, and still cooked medium well. The fries were great, unpeeled which I prefer. They also had malt vinegar that I brought to the table for the fries. A slow afternoon, only another 10 people in the 20 minutes we spent there. The facility was very clean, and we soon saw why. During slow periods, employees were hand scrubbing tables, seats, and even the chair legs. Background music was for a younger group, but at least it was not too loud and did not overwhelm the place. Only problem I had was that I think their prices are a bit high, should be lower. Too expensive to be a regular stop for a biuger and fries. So my visits here will be more special, but less frequent. And we are glad this was much better than our Manchester visit. This will make it easier to decide on going to another Five Guys location if one is near to us. Call before going cause they like to close before 10pm! Had some excuse to why they close early. Something about re-wiring their cash registers. When I arrived at Five Guys at 6pm on a Saturday, it seemed like the lines were very long. But despite the fact that it seemed like we'd be waiting for a while, it was actually less than 15 minutes before we had our food due to the incredibly well managed production line which they had going. Once we had our food, the burgers were excellent - two reasonably sized patties with whatever toppings you choose out of at least a dozen options. The fries were copiously supplied, and although the meal wasn't cheap, I definitely wasn't left wondering what I'd paid for. If you're interested in a quick meal of burgers or hot dogs, then these are definitely worth checking out. You can order online if you want take out, or call the store. My first trip to this local Five Guys joint was a positive one. I had been anxiously wanting to go here, and finally got the chance this past Saturday night. It was pretty busy for the area. I had my two, small nieces with me. We ordered two Bacon cheeseburgers, a large fry, hot dog, & little cheeseburger...along with 4 beverages...for $32. Not too bad, seeing that their food is FRESH and made to order. My husband enjoyed the digital soda fountains. My niece even said it was the best cheeseburger EVER, and she wants to go there every day for dinner. A little much, but that says a lot coming from a child! My only suggestion would be to stay on top of cleaning the tables...many were dirty when trying to find a clean one to sit at. Looking forward to my next burger fix! read more

I see a lot of people consider this fast food, but I don't. I mean if I walk in and sit down to eat, it's a sit down restaurant.If it doesn't have a drive thru, it's not fast food to this guy. I actually had no idea this was a chain when I tried it and I like to avoid chain places in general, but I was somewhat surprised by the quality. Food- It''s hilarious that people say this place is better than Burger King or McDonald's. What the hell kind of point is that? Anything is better than those places, their food looks like when my dog vomited Alpo and grass up in the backyard. The burgers are solid, plenty of topping choices included. The fries are huge in size and the best thing about the place. As a soda junkie, I love the soda machine, with free refills that has all sorts of odd combos and mixtures like Orange Ginger Ale, plus the must have Vanilla Coke. Vinegar for the fries is a must have and usually you get the odd stares when asking for it at most places, but it's right there to grab. On the downside, why are there no milkshakes at a place like this? If I am doing the burger and fries thing, I want to complete the assault full steam ahead against my circulatory system and they don't have them. Not being able to order my burger cooked as I want it is ridiculous, considering what you are going to shell out for it. Prices-They are normal, I mean you'd pay 6-8 bucks in any diner or restaurant and like I said the quality is there, but I want to order my burger as I want it at any place, it doesn't matter what you put in top. The fries are a steal for the huge heap of them you get. Buy the regular size drink because refills are free so there's no reason to upsize. Service- It's shakey, like at any place that employs a lot of high school kids. My biggest complaint is if you are going to pile the burger at the bottom of the bag with the mountain of fries on top, use 2 bags so I don't have to reach through a bunch of grease to pull my burger out. Atmosphere- Eh. It's boring and resembles the old school 50's diners, but not quite. Personally, I hate when a place puts it's awards and stuff like that on display and this is full on self indulgence with quotes from newspapers about the burgers blown up to immense size and stuck in all the windows and all over the walls. Why are you trying to convince me to eat here, when I already am? The constant yelling of "3 patties" or "2 dogs" can get annoying after a while. They also need to do a better job of getting tables clean when it's super busy. All in all, it's a decent place, but I'd actually stop in for the fries and drink combos over a burger any time. Not being able to order how I want it and no shakes, make this far from what I consider the ultimate burger experience, and the atmosphere is pretty weak, so it doesn't get higher than 3 stars. I appreciate and like the Five Guys franchise - especially in New Hampshire where good burger places are few and far between in the sea of fast food joints. This particular location falls victim to rushed service rather taking the time to get orders 100% right. It's hit or miss in the Derry location as I've had burgers that were meant to have grilled onions have raw ones instead and even cheeseburgers without cheese. Still a good place and the meat and fries quality are quite good, but the quality on the grill needs to be upped a bit to really make this place keep up with the service of other Five Guys locations. read more

The food is eh...if you want to smell for a week then sure. It's kinda cool that they do their own fries. But the grease. My God...the grease is just everywhere in everything. They put their fries in a paper basket, and double paper bag it, and it still just seeps through. You can build your own disgusting falling apart greasy as hell burger. My heart rate actually doubles, I can feel my arteries work in overtime to digest this junk. It's bad. It's not terrible food...but it's so bad for you that it isn't worth it to go. I drove to Philly right after eating lunch here. My whole car reeked the whole time...I didn't get "to go", I just sat there and ate for a moment. My car reeked the next day and the next day until I got air fresheners, my clothes smelled like fried crap so we used the laundry at the house we were staying at to clean our clothes ASAP. Pros: Very good quality, quick, fresh, tasty, best burgers in the area, ample seating inside, friendly employees, free peanuts, heaping mountains of fries (they are introducing a small soon...FINALLY), self-serve fountain soda refills, free unlimited toppings, new and nice looking (although they all look the same, I enjoy that heavy red tint) Cons: Insanely unhealthy even for fast food, expensive burgers for a family, regular fries (smallest offered) are way too much for one person (that will soon be modified with the introduction of a small). Overall? I go here about once a month with a friend and pig out. Split the fries, get a massive burger, and enjoy some very good food. Personally, I just do not make a habit out of it. I view Five Guys as the occasional treat that it should be. But yeah, it really is a terrific burger chain. read more

Love this place great atmosphere, music and food. Love the complimentary peanuts, my son loves to get those when we come here. Also so glad they added shakes super delicious! The Banana shake isn't just flavored it's actual bananas. The only negative is the potatoes the use vary from farm to farm so fries tend to have slight taste difference.
