Five Guys has the best burger and French fries of all the fast-casual options, and I will die on this hill. Their fries are always on my mind. They even have malt vinegar on hand next to the ketchup- a true pro move. If you like crispier fries, ask if they'll double drop them for you. Because the fries are a little thicker than, say, a McDonald's French fry, sometimes I find that I wished the fries had spent a little bit longer in the oil. If you are a customer can you order food to go here just know that it will take a while because they make the fries fresh was not a bad thing, however they don't treat drivers that well when they come and get their food, so if you are a driver for grandpa or doordash just note that it will take a long time and it will affect your pay if you accept the pickup from food from this location so it might be a good idea if you're on GrubHub and you are on a mission it'll be hard to complete if you do a pickup from this location, I don't feel I was treated with respect as a driver. read more

Multiple problems here tonight. I called from the parking lot to make a to-go order. The lady on the phone asked my name and then hung up on me without taking my order. So I walked in, immediately saw that a SINGLE CHEESEBURGER IS $8.99, and ordered only a small peanut butter malt shake ($4.99!!). While ringing me up the lady said something about "yeah it's all these stupid rules" referring to the life preserving measures we are all taking as a community to keep each other safe... then saw I was wearing a jacket identifying me as a physician...sheepishly tried to backpedal...anyway it was a shit show. Five Guys is such a different type of fast food. They make everything fresh in the store daily and when you order. There are bags and bags of potatoes scattered all over the dine in area. They have tubs of peanuts in multiple places too. I believe the thought is you can eat the peanuts while you wait on your food. But what they do not tell you is the servings are so incredibly big. You would think a regular fry is not overly large right. Well, you would be wrong. The regular fry is huge. Enough for the three of us to share at lunch. I way over ordered for myself. I walked in to grab a burger, saw they wanted over $10 for one average-at-best burger, and over $6 for fries and walked out. That has to be a sick joke or bad info right? The Grandview 5th Ave. Five Guys was SO clean - I really appreciate this since the pandemic isn't over yet. Lots of space between tables, and there are four nice tables outside. I love this place, all locations. I travel for work so late at night when the day was wrapping up, I was always able to go to any of their locations, and get something hot and fresh that tasted amazing. Love the peanuts they have on display for the customers while you wait on your food when the wait times are not long at all. read more

Just updating because this location is so friendly and on top of things! Slightly embarrassing pro-tip: They have an app now and it makes ordering insanely easy. The app lets you save your custom burger options and your preferred payment so ordering is literally as simple as 2 taps on a screen. You can choose immediate pick up, but they won't start making your fries until you show up so they don't get cold or soggy. Have to admit, the ease of the app has increased our visits! This location has never gotten my order incorrect, even when I get toppings happy on the app and opt for extras of certain things (the app lets you choose 'light', 'regular' or 'extra' per each topping). I've become a 5 Guys fanatic. A triple bacon burger lettuce wrapped with tomato and green peppers has become a staple of my diet. Perfect post-workout meal. And there I was, realizing that I had stayed at the gym a bit too long. I was a few blocks away from 5 Guys. The clock at 9:56pm, my heart began to race. I had to arrive before they closed at 10pm, but the math didn't add up. After getting in the car, I realized it would take me 10 seconds to reverse, 3 minutes to drive, 30 seconds to park, and 30 seconds to reach the door. With the variability of traffic, I would arrive approximately 46 seconds after close and the doors would be locked. So I got weak and called. I called and pleaded for grace. To my surprise, Matt, Shania, and Heather at this 5 Guys location on 5th Avenue were kind enough to trust my phone call, prepare my order ahead of time, and stay open a few minutes longer just for me. This type of service is a testament to the fact that people who work at 5 Guys really enjoy what they do. They create some of the best burgers in town and they know it. Despite ridiculously good food and consistently bright service across all stores I've been to in Columbus, I was still blown away by the above and beyond service from this team. You guys rock! I was told they had the best burgers. I was sorely disappointed, as the burger tasted like a burger that cost a dollar less at Rally's. The fries were subpar, and it seems they figure that by giving me twice the amount of fries that will fit in the cup makes up for their lackluster quality. This was my third time ever dining at a Five Guys Burger. All this time, I'd thought that I enjoyed my previous Five Guys experience because of their customizable burger menu... but now I realize it's because I love their french fries. Their fresh cut french fries with seasoned salt is the bomb. The amount of fries that they give you per order is also impressive. On the other hand, the burger is... so-so. The customizable toppings is awesome, and their burger patty is fresh... but not amazing. I actually prefer Wendy's burgers. Thanks to this newfound understanding of my burger preferences, I can stop paying the equivalent of a Chipotle burrito for one of their burgers. Yay? Speaking more specifically about this Five Guys location in Grandview, they have a really friendly staff working the joint. Their parking lot (yes I know they have parking in the back too) on the other hand stinks. Sweetie wanted a burger last night, and Five Guys, though "good not great," was good enough, and convenient enough. This location was less crazy on a Saturday night than trying to fight through the crowds on campus or at Easton. Their burgers are pretty good: big, tasty burger, good bun, plenty of fresh toppings. We both had bacon cheeseburgers, hers "little," mine regular. Those plus fries are a filling meal. I really enjoyed my burger, with its fresh veggies to theoretically counteract the cheese and bacon and beef... The fries are pretty good, though they gave me the cajun topping on the side which didn't work out too well. Better to have that put on right away. Anyway, still good. Prices are a little high for the quality, to me. But then McD's is so expensive now, and this is WAY better than that, so I can live with it, and the wait while it's prepared. read more

The amazing thing about Five Guys is there consistency from location to location. As this chain has went nationwide they have not lost their values, the quality of their food has not suffered, and their reputation has only grown. I have only been to this location a few times and they have never disappointed me. Walking in you are always enthusiastically greeted, they take your order quick, don't waste time cooking or checking you out, keep the place clean, and they make sure to thank you and send you away happy. Their burgers are far superior to anything you are going to get through a drive thru and that makes me appreciate Five Guys more. I love their grilled onions but wish they left them a little longer as the pellets sometimes drop out. My strategy is to pick them up and eat them on a fry and to make sure I get a double helping each time. Their fries are fresh cut and droppped to order. I love their spice rub you can get on them and appreciate the extra scoop they drop in the bag with each other. While I didn't order it today, they make pretty good hot dogs grilled on their flat tops. Five Guys is good for all ages, small and large groups and families. They cook in peanut oil and have free peanuts for all of their customers. I have yet to have a bad experience at one of their restaraunts and would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone in Grandview, Upper Arlington, at Ohio State, staying in a hotel on the Olentangy corridoor, or in central Columbus. read more

They have fantastic free toppings such as grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, A1 sauce, as well as the standard mustard, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, etc. Also, (very important) they know how to top your burger: cold items on one side; hot items on the other; your patty and cheese in between. Note: A burger is two patties. A little burger is one patty. The patties aren't little thin slabs either. There is a decent amount of meat even with just one patty. Now the fries, love, love, love the fries. They give you a generous amount even with a small order. When they bag your order, they fill a small or large cup (depending on what you ordered) full of fries. Then they place it in your bag. Then they dump more fries!! I enjoy both the regular and the cajun fries. The regular come with the perfect amount of salt. The cajun has a wonderfully warm kick without being too hot. If you look, there is a sign posted near the register that tells you where the potatoes are from that day. Service can be quite slow when there is a crowd. Your burger is made fresh to order so it will take time. There are boxes of shelled peanuts for you to enjoy during your wait. (Love them!) The cooks will sometimes shout out to the crowd "How is everyone today?" or "Ready for some burgers." The cooks will also announce when they are putting more patties on the grill, or placing a cooked burger on a bun. I like this. It keeps the kitchen moving. It tells the customer they are pumping along. And it's fun. Once the burger is done and placed on your already topped bun, it is quickly bagged. If you ordered fries, they are quickly added to the bag and your number is called. Even if you order your burger to go, it is piping hot when you get to your destination. BUT I was in the mood for a hamburger, not to look at art so i found myself there last night! Now I remember why I do not go there, its not just the decor; its the burger that also disappoints. Firstly, every time I have ordered a bacon cheese burger, they always forget the bacon, then you have to go back up to the counter and get some cold, crispy, brittle bacon - GROSS. Okay okay, so I definitely want to go to Graffiti Burger now... Five Guys was great, I really enjoyed it, but I'm intrigued by the constant comparisons. This was my first trip to Five Guys, and I was impressed. The boy and I went to dinner here tonight, just a casual thing. He'd been to Five Guys in Philly already, and I'd never been, so he kinda helped me out - and thank goodness. I would have never guess that a "regular" order of fries (aka, "small") is like enough for at least three people. I guess I probably would have ordered my own regular fries if he hadn't been there (love!!). I ordered a cheeseburger, and the boy ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The cool thing about Five Guys is that all the toppings are free - although I've heard (heard!) that Graffiti Burger has more options - but the Five Guys accouterments are all really great toppings. I got lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mushrooms, with extra mustard (yummmm). The burger was huge - I cut it into four pieces to eat it - and definitely delicious. Just based on the burger, I'll definitely be coming back here. There's nothing more Midwestern (nor American!) than a good burger. NOM. The fries - yes, cooked in peanut oil - are really really yummy and good. There are far too many of them in a small order - we couldn't finish them all between the two of us, and since we were having a great conversation, we ate slowly and were there for a long time (but even with absent minded munching, fries remained!). So, yeah, for sure go here. It's really delicious. And the pick your own toppings part is really great. It's not often that I go to Five Guys anymore, but when I do, it's because I've indulged a bit too much the night before. This place has lost much of the allure that it once had due to so many good burger joints around Columbus. Honestly, I still like this place, and with Graffiti Burger gone, it's the only place to get a decent burger quickly in the area. I've never had any issues with the place, and the girl that took my order yesterday had lots of energy and was super friendly. Let's call this the Burger Showdown of West Fifth Avenue. Five Guys has opened just to the east of the new local burger favorite Graffiti Burger. Can the Tri-Village/University West area support two burger only chains? i guess time will tell. I visited Five Guys today around 1:30, after the lunch rush. This appears to be a very well run Five Guys, compared to the Grove City location, which I found to be a nightmare to get your order. I walked right up to order my double burger with relish, grilled onions, pickles, and lettuce. There's only one cheese choice - American - so i chose to abstain from cheese today. I also ordered a regular fry, and a regular soft drink - total tab....$9.69. I had time to grab my drink and some ketchup for my fries from the condiment area - and to grab a table. There are two soda machines offering quite a few choices to drink. The dining area is very large, stacked with bags of potatoes for the fries, and the open containers of peanuts. Unfortunately, my burger was done before i could indulge in any peanuts....oh well - maybe next time? My burger was submerged in a pile of fries (buried in fact). i lost some fries to the floor when extracting my burger from the bag. They serve WAY TOO MANY FRIES - about 2 and half orders in that little paper bag. the fries are twice cooked, and they have pretty good flavor from being fried in peanut oil. They don't appear to be greasy, but when they sit in the paper bag during the time you eat your burger, the bag becomes translucent from the draining of the peanut oil from the uncupped fries. The burger was wrapped tightly in foil - two patties cooked well done. luckily the burgers weren't hard and crusty, as I have had from other Five Guys locations. the bun was a mess - the grease from the grilled onions turns the bottom bun into mush. the pickles were pretty pedestrian, as was the relish. The lettuce was fresh, but torn into bite sized pieces. i added a bit of mustard and ketchup at my table, rather then letting the heavy hand of the burger maker apply it. The burger was A-OK - it wasn't very juicy, was a bit dry and crumbly. It had good burger flavor - as if I had fried it in my skillet at home. Now comes the comparison...Graffiti vs. Five Guys. On the fries, I would give the edge to Five Guys - the peanut oil makes a difference. The portion size is obscene - probably a bit more than Graffiti. Now the burger....No contest - Graffiti wins hands down. If nothing else, the Graffiti bun is a firm Kaiser and holds up to the toppings - whether it's the wet graffiti sauce or the grease from some Grilled Onions. Graffiti also gives you the choice of real cheese - real Swiss, Provolone, Cheddar. And it's not one slice - two slices of ooey gooey melting cheese. Next, the pickles at Graffiti are NOT pedestrian - they are cold premium packed slices - no sour chips here...think Claussen vs. Kroger brand. Graffiti's toppings are top notch, premium. At Graffiti - you also can choose that vinegar Italian slaw for your burger, and the homemade Graffiti sauce. Most important, the Graffiti burger is juicy moist burger, not dry and crumbly. Burger wars may prove to be a difficult challenge, like your favorite pizza. But for my ten bucks, I'll be at the Graffiti Burger for that juicy half pounder. read more

Five Guys: When you just want a big bag full of greasy, salty food. Better than fast food, not quite as good as the price warrants. You won't leave here hungry, but you may shave a few months off your lifespan. The burgers are huge, messy affairs and you can get as many toppings as you see fit. The fries are fresh cut and they always give you more than you expect. I'd recommend the Cajun seasoning for an extra little kick. Also, the hot dogs are highly underrated. They are very good with bacon and cheese if you aren't in the mood to eat a giant burger. Although this may vary by location, the employees are typically friendly and helpful.
