The headquarters of course, is right here in our city, and the impact has spread across the United States in many major metropolitan centers. Sometimes copied, but never duplicated. White Castle has expanded their menu offerings over the years. And one of the delightful things that has happened in recent decades is it has actually become a destination for Valentine's Day. While this may seem quite unusual to some, in a world of rampant materialism, it is the sometimes focus on simple things like a hamburger and conversation with the person you love that can make all the positive difference. The staff at this particular location is exceptionally friendly and it is because of that, that it has become one of my favorite drive-through restaurants to visit in the entire city. How come food you enjoyed as a kid, almost never taste as good as you remember as an adult? Growing up in Brooklyn, it was a TREAT for my family to hit the local White Castle...mainly because the famous sliders back then were only $.60 and you could feed a family of five for less than $10. So fun fact, did you know that the corporate headquarters for White Castle is Columbus, OH? I surely didn't, but after discovering this fact, I then understood why there are no less than 14 (as of this review) locations in and around the greater Columbus area. I was in town visiting some friends, and was elated that there was a brick-and-mortar store for me to step foot into. For the past couple of decades, the only way to satisfy my White Castle craving was to get a pack from the freezer section at my local grocery store. After microwaving for the specified time on the package, I was always disappointed that the sliders didn't taste fresh, the bread was mushy, and the flavor was "off." I had a long drive back to Detroit, so I stopped by on my way out of town, and ordered a bag of sliders...some of which I ate in the dining room. Interior is standard fast food decor of tile flooring, semi-uncomfortable hard back chairs and tables, with thankfully no music being piped in. Food was ready in about 3 minutes, but my anticipation of having an ACTUAL White Castle slider prepared in a store for the first time in about 20 yrs was quickly dashed by the reality: it was MID. The bread was steamed on top of the meat and onions to give it that distinctive flavor profile, but it was still kind of mushy. The meat had that "distinctive" grayish/brown color since the patties are not fried at high heat to give it a customary grill char. The cheese and onions were melted and combined nicely though. After quickly chowing down on three burgers in 5 minutes, I had to get back on the road. I dunno. Maybe nostalgia as well as those "Harold and Kumar" movies from the early-Aughts built up the mental hype so much, that I couldn't help but be underwhelmed by the entire experience. Then again, if I'm being honest, if there were White Castle locations in the DMV...I'd probably swing to grab a bag of sliders every so often. read more

My first dine-in visit here that was very disappointing. I ordered the Deluxe Crispy Chicken Combo with small fries and drink. I also added a double Slider. Taking my tray to the table, I noticed that many of the tables were dirty. I sat down and went straight for the fries because I like them hot. Guess what, them were Luke warm at best. Ate the fries and went to the Slider which was actually pretty good. Then to the high light of the meal, the New Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sliders, that were over cooked and Luke warm. Was having a craving and decided to stop in. This location as the automated AI ordering so not sure how I feel about it but it was easy. Actually I feel like it is just a measure to save overhead in a headcount and make it so less people are needed to run the store. I will add the AI was nicer than some drive thru workers though. Service was quick. And the food was good. I ordered four jalapeños White Castles with extra onion. No one maybe kissing me tonight but the burgers hit the spot. What an excellent establishment. Quick and easy and the cashier at the drive thru window was friendly. We talked for over an hour which made the people behind me mad. Ok, it wasn't that long but he was a good "front man" for the store. That 1921 slider is one of the better options and I'm glad they decided to keep it on the menu. You can actually see the burger portion of the burger. They also have their normal fare of sliders with burgers, chicken, waffles, and other items that rotate in an out. I have to do this on road trips as the one that opened in Orlando is still usually busy AF. It's only 4 stars instead of 5 as the Drive-Thru was my only option at 7:15p. I do prefer to order and eat my food fresh. The line moved quick and my hotel was close, but wish I could have eaten them right off the griddle. read more

I feel for the safety of the employees at this restaurant. They remodeled the drive thru window with a full sliding glass doorway requiring the staff to hand the food to the customer opening the full size sliding glass door. White Castle is an American institution. My brother from out West demands it every time he returns to Ohio. This newly renovated location does not disappoint. Nice, big drive thru available, which we used. With online ordering, everything is a breeze. Their menu is way bigger than my late night excursions in high school and college, so study up before you go. Sometimes the wait is longer than you'd hope for, but that's to be expected in a situation with a massively varied menu and a pitch to consumers to order by the sackful. Now, by the case, really. Its a fast food joint that specializes in sliders and honestly, none of the food has been like disgusting. Its what you'd expect from a fast food place, quick, greasy, loaded with salt. Its also open 24/7 which is a plus. Everytime I come, the staff has also been really nice so that's another plus. However, the low rating has nothing to do with actual food or the staff, not directly anyways. There always seems to be a mixup with my orders here, things are always missing or I get charged multiple times. Overall, not the best experiences in that regard. The wait time can also be sort of long for a fast food place, especially considering there's only ever one or two people ahead of me. If you're looking for typical fast food fare in the middle of the night, this is the spot to go. This is a good White Castle location - the staff was so friendly and efficient on our recent visit! We got an assortment to try: impossible burgers, sliders with jalapeno cheese, chicken sliders with jalapeno cheese, fries, and we sampled some of their desserts-on-a-stick - the fudge dipped brownie and the fudge dipped cheesecake. It is nice that they now offer impossible burgers, and, since it has been awhile since our last visit, we didn't realize they also now offer several cheese options: American, smoked cheddar, or jalapeno, that you can request on any of the sandwiches that come with cheese. We used the drive thru and it moved along quickly. Great option if you're in the mood for White Castle! read more

I have had problems at other White Castle locations, but not at this one. The staff seems to have the process of making as close to perfect slider a routine experience. On Oct 24, 2023//I was coming home from a Doctor's Appointment with a Family member. We didnot eat any Breakfast prior to going to the Medical appointment. So I had a promotional coupon for White Castle. It stated you get one meal and a free meal too. So I thought that would be great. I went into the place of business to place my order, I was the only customer in the store. I placed my order, and I payed for it. I was not in a hurry to get my Food order. I was waiting very patiently, Because I wanted my order to be hot and ready to eat. I got my order and and left the store. Went I got home and open the bags. I got a big surprise. The Food were very cold and the Food was old. I had ordered my White Castle Hamburgers without Cheese. They the customer service workers I pulled the Cheese from some of the Hamburgers and gave them to me. My Family were very upset because we didnot get what we paid for. This order was a I don't care what I give you to eat. My morning Breakfast was plain ruin. I wrote a complaint letter to the store on-line and they didnot respond to my complaint, because they are low-life's and the manager has no skills to manage a place like that. It's hard to get excited about a new item at White Castle but the 1921 Slider does it for me. I could have these a couple of times a week. They were fresh and tasty. Verdict: Breakfast burger. You know you want one. After 400 miles, you might feel a bit like Harold and Kumar when they saw the White Castle. I just knew I wanted a bag full of tiny burgers. Waistline be darned. Got an assortment of burger types because I don't get to eat at White Castle where I am. Had to find my favorite for future visits. The burger with egg on top is hands down the best thing they offer. It was everything good about their normal burger but taken up a notch or two by that egg. A surprise was how good their no meat burger was. Those are always hit or miss and they had plenty of flavor going in that patty. The order took a bit longer because I was probably the only one to order one of those all day. I think they had to power up a whole different broiler to get the veggie patty ready. It was worth the wait. You should try one of those too, even if you enjoy the normal burgers. This place is pretty much like any other White Castle and typical fast food restaurant. I can't say it was any more or less of anything than the standard for appearance and cleanliness. I wouldn't drive 400+ miles just to go here but I'd consider stopping by if I'm ever passing by again. read more

Sure it's a chain, and sure, it's fast food... but it's a locally owned fast food chain, so that makes it okay, right? But seriously, this location is awesome. I have never had a rude employee or problems with an order. Everyone is pretty friendly (especially the morning crew). Sure the drive thru gets a little backed up, but why would I complain when the food is cooked to order? Only complaint is how they give out sauce and ketchup. You have to ask... if you don't, you won't get any. That includes ketchup for fries, cocktail sauce for clam strips, or zesty sauce for onion chips. read more
