I think I only been to Smash Burger once and haven't been there since then. Glad to check it out again. I went to the Smash Burger that right in OSU and they opened up a couple weeks back. It is spacious and I love all the bar seating surrounded by the window. Other than the burger and fries, they also have wings, shake and even a full bar. When I first walked in, I immediately get greet by the staffs. I got myself the Double Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger, along with the Smash Tots. The burger is loaded with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Perfect combo with the juicy patties and fluffy bun. Their Smash Tots would be any must have and they add in their own twist from the plain one. The touch of rosemary, garlic and olive oil. I can keep snacking it all day long. End the meal with a rich and creamy Oreo shake.

Service was friendly and accommodating. The food was over salted and the fries had wayyy too much oil and rosemary. Great spot to grab a bite if you're a college student and hungover - lol. Atmosphere and clean and comfortable/ casual. Recommend for another demographic, and even though I loved that they had vegan and lactose free options, I would only go back to grab a veggie burger or a vegan shake. The shakes were delicious though! Another good option for family and kids. They had chicken sandwhich which was actually delicious.

For such a new location, I'm impressed! We ordered for pick-up today, but we're excited to eat inside when we have more time. Very spacious and clean, with attentive staff. Upon entering, the app said I still had 2 minutes before my food would be ready, but an employee sensed it may already be ready and asked for our name. It was ready early - which means 2 customized burgers and fries were ready within 13 minutes. Keep in mind for my photos that this was after traveling after ~20 minutes, so they likely weren't packed as squished as pictured. The packing was actually surprisingly neat and secure for a fast food joint. I had the signature burger with added truffle mayo, and it was great. Nothing super special, but quite a filling burger for the price. Also a perfect munchie, if you're wondering. It had a bit too much ketchup and mayo, but I definitely prefer too much over skimping. On a scale of 10 I'd give it a 6. My partner tried the double smoked bacon brisket burger. This was a bit salty but DELICIOUS. Would give it more stars if not for the saltiness, but solid 7 with it. The fries are deliciously seasoned, but unfortunately are a bit hard/stale. Not sure if they actually use it, but they have a faint rosemary taste, which I usually don't like but enjoy with these fries. We're hoping for fresher fries on our next visit - because we do love the flavor. Definitely had a positive experience for my first time trying. Very convenient location for OSU students. I look forward to trying again in the near future for dine-in! I expect even better with more time as a location.

Great location, great service, great burgers! The smash burgers were nice and crispy, the shake was peanut buttery and thick, and even the wings were good!

The food was good. My daughter got a single Smashburger with smash tots and enjoyed it but said that it wasn't amazing. I felt the same about my double bacon smash burger and smash fries. It was good and I enjoyed them, but it wasn't really worth the price. We also got milk shakes and they were also good and we enjoyed them but they weren't amazing. So, do we recommend this place? Sure. The food was good. It was also very clean and the service was great.

Great burgers! I've visited this location twice now and both times had a great experience. The smash burgers are nice and crispy, fresh ingredients, and great service.

This place knows how to make your taste buds do the happy dance. We didn't have to wait long for our food, which was a blessing because I was *hangry*. When the food came out, it was hot, fresh, and basically screamed, "Eat me now!" My son went for the mushroom Swiss burger, which he devoured like he hadn't eaten in weeks. I opted for the classic cheeseburger with fries -- simple, juicy, and absolutely perfect. Oh, and as if one meal wasn't enough, my son also ordered a chicken sandwich. He declared it "the best ever," which is saying something because this kid is a chicken sandwich connoisseur. The television entertainment was the Cartoon Network, which made me know this was a special place. Preston's, you've earned a special place in our hearts (and stomachs). If you're looking for a spot that serves up deliciousness with zero pretension, this is it. Highly recommend -- just don't forget to bring stretchy pants!

The burger was good, very fresh bun, fresh ingredients. The fries were pretty ordinary, but crisp and hot. The standout was the biscuits that I ordered to see what they were like. The were unique and very good. They were just a little sweet. Good texture /mouth feel. I wonder if the biscuits would make a good burger bun... maybe too sweet? The place was very clean and inviting. The qr code ordering was handy, but a bit impersonal. The server was nice and did offer to take my order personally. Not sure if I'll come back on my own initiative (not close to my house). But if a friend said let's have lunch there I'd be happy to return.

Kind, personable, and genuinely warm exactly the kind of energy that makes a meal feel like more than just a meal. The burger was everything it needed to be no gimmicks, no shortcuts, just a beautifully made sandwich that delivers on every level. The fries? Equally on point. Honestly, I have no notes. None. The beauty of a Saturday afternoon is there were sports on and TVs hanging on the walls. That made the wait easy. Boy do they know their stuff bc it was pretty much one hour to the minute when they called our name and escorted us to our table. We sat in a booth and took in on the collection of various items around the bar that have been gathered through the years and had some laughs at some of it. It was almost like a fun game of eye spy! They came to take our drink order and by the time they returned we were ready to order. We chatted for a bit and our food came out in what seemed to be a good time. I ordered the Patty Melt with onion straws. My husband got the Thurman Burger. We were surprised by its size when they came carrying it out to our table. Believe it or not he ate every single bite. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.

Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp. Maybe we'll try the Mexican place across the street next time. ‍
