The one and only other time I've been here is when they first opened and Yelp had an Elite event here (a stop in at your convenience type). I went and had a wonderful turkey burger, with their rosemary tots on the side. My friend had the brussel sprouts and I tried those too. Yum. I wanted that turkey burger one night last week. I didn't see it on the menu as a burger substitute. I asked the young guy working and he nodded and placed my order. I went to grab a seat at the bar that looked pretty unused compared to the first time I visited. There were liquor bottles, but nothing showing any cocktails they serve. It was pretty empty at that time on a Friday. I didn't get a turkey patty. It was a black bean burger. Um. Not the same? I ate it and enjoyed those rosemary tots but I can't see myself returning. Friday night around 8pm. and craving a buger. Being an out-of-towner visiting OSU, we stopped at Smashburger thinking it'd be a quick bite. Well, not so much. Ordering food was easy and fast, though since I was unfamiliar with the menu, I probably took a little longer than most people. There wasn't anyone else in line, though. The guy taking my order sighed quite loudly a few times while I was reviewing the menu. Maybe it was just heavy breathing. Not sure, but that didn't make me feel welcomed. I waited and waited. Just ordered a Double Classic with no cheese and fries - very basic. 15 minutes goes by. Nothing. I go to the counter and they say someone touched it and they had to remake it. OK, cool. Give them a few minutes to remake my burger. But my fries were ready. 10 more minutes pass. Nothing. I go back to the counter and they say they're just about done. OK. A minute later it's brought to my table. But guess what - it has cheese in it. I take it back and they have to remake one. 2 minutes later, I get my correct burger. So basically, almost half an hour to get my burger. I'm starving by this point, so I eat it quickly and leave. It was a basic burger. Unacceptable. I really want to give 1 star only, but added one because of the multiple (though unnecessary if they got it right the first time) remakes of my burger. read more

The milkshake is very small for $6.00. Not in worth it. My wife paid an extra $1.50 for avocado on her burger that was just an unripe chunk. Inedible. Our food did not arrive at the same time. I think I've been here before for a Yelp event. Today, it was handy when Baby K wanted a strawberry milkshake and I wanted to get it from somewhere better than McDonald's. Parking wasn't bad, on a holiday near campus. City meter right around the corner. The place was empty, but they were doing plenty of online orders; staff were busy and people kept coming in to grab bags. That made things a bit slow for us at the counter, but probably a 15 minute total wait so not bad for made to order burgers. We took everything home. She loved the shake. I got a double bacon and onion rings. I keep meaning to try the brisket sandwich, but get distracted by the other goodies on the menu. They have wings now, and there are kid's meals with burgers or chicken, but she wasn't actually hungry. The burger was pretty darn good. Good bun, good meat, fresh toppings considering it's winter. The onion rings were very good. They put in plenty of napkins, ketchup, and a seasoned ranch for the onion rings. Held up to travel well. Side note: I've now been to three Smashburger locations in two cities a total of 5 times. Good food and good experiences each time. I've been to three Shake Shack locations in two cities a total of four times. Bad experiences every time. Shake Shack has pretty good food in general, comparable to Smashburger, but we've had issues with the food, with service, with just the atmosphere at the restaurants. For comparable quality and price at "premium" burger chains, Smashburger is leagues ahead. Plus there are other even better burgers in town at local places. read more

I think I only been to Smash Burger once and haven't been there since then. Glad to check it out again. I went to the Smash Burger that right in OSU and they opened up a couple weeks back. It is spacious and I love all the bar seating surrounded by the window. Other than the burger and fries, they also have wings, shake and even a full bar. When I first walked in, I immediately get greet by the staffs. I got myself the Double Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger, along with the Smash Tots. The burger is loaded with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Perfect combo with the juicy patties and fluffy bun. Their Smash Tots would be any must have and they add in their own twist from the plain one. The touch of rosemary, garlic and olive oil. I can keep snacking it all day long. End the meal with a rich and creamy Oreo shake. read more

Service was friendly and accommodating. The food was over salted and the fries had wayyy too much oil and rosemary. Great spot to grab a bite if you're a college student and hungover - lol. Atmosphere and clean and comfortable/ casual. Recommend for another demographic, and even though I loved that they had vegan and lactose free options, I would only go back to grab a veggie burger or a vegan shake. For a fast, casual, and cheap burger chain, I gotta say this place impressed me! I think what surprised me the most is that they offer dairy free versions of every milkshake flavor. That's pretty rare to find! Their menu has options for both beef and chicken lovers. If you're a vegetarian, they also have a black bean burger. Plus, you can swap proteins. I ordered a simple grilled chicken sandwich with tater tots and a dairy free cookies & cream milkshake. Everything tasted great! The tots had an excellent crunch and the sandwich was juicy. I loved the milkshake. My boyfriend and I wolfed that down! He also enjoyed his burger. Sometimes simple really is better. We would definitely return! We came here after attending a show in on a Thursday night around 9pm. There was a busy post show crowd. And the staff handled everything beautifully. Things were very efficient. Even with the rush, our orders was all accurate and quality was still high. It was honestly very impressive. The burgers are good quality for "fast food". The mushroom truffle burger is delicious. You can taste the mushroom and truffle, and not just the burger patty. Their tots were crunchy, but nothing special. Interior: multiple tables for seating. There is a bar area, but this was closed when we went. The restrooms require a code to get in. read more

For such a new location, I'm impressed! We ordered for pick-up today, but we're excited to eat inside when we have more time. Very spacious and clean, with attentive staff. Upon entering, the app said I still had 2 minutes before my food would be ready, but an employee sensed it may already be ready and asked for our name. It was ready early - which means 2 customized burgers and fries were ready within 13 minutes. Keep in mind for my photos that this was after traveling after ~20 minutes, so they likely weren't packed as squished as pictured. The packing was actually surprisingly neat and secure for a fast food joint. I had the signature burger with added truffle mayo, and it was great. Nothing super special, but quite a filling burger for the price. Also a perfect munchie, if you're wondering. It had a bit too much ketchup and mayo, but I definitely prefer too much over skimping. On a scale of 10 I'd give it a 6. My partner tried the double smoked bacon brisket burger. This was a bit salty but DELICIOUS. Would give it more stars if not for the saltiness, but solid 7 with it. The fries are deliciously seasoned, but unfortunately are a bit hard/stale. Not sure if they actually use it, but they have a faint rosemary taste, which I usually don't like but enjoy with these fries. We're hoping for fresher fries on our next visit - because we do love the flavor. Definitely had a positive experience for my first time trying. Very convenient location for OSU students. I look forward to trying again in the near future for dine-in! I expect even better with more time as a location. read more

The food was good. My daughter got a single Smashburger with smash tots and enjoyed it but said that it wasn't amazing. I felt the same about my double bacon smash burger and smash fries. It was good and I enjoyed them, but it wasn't really worth the price. We also got milk shakes and they were also good and we enjoyed them but they weren't amazing. So, do we recommend this place?
