SCAM. $9.62 for large fries and this is what they give me?! Are you fucking kidding me.

I came to Five Guys before my massage appointment this evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was pretty quiet and not too crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a little bacon burger in a bowl with regular fries and a drink. I let them know that I had a food allergy to sesame. I did overhear the asking what type of allergy I had. I decided to eat in. I got my food immediately and it was delicious. If I am back in the area around mealtime, I would come back.

This place has the best, juiciest hamburgers and their fries are to die for. You must try this place, and if you use the Upside app (which I love) you get 20 percent back of what you spend. A plus plus situation!

I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Five Guys. From the moment we walked in, the staff was giving us dirty looks and whispering to each other while staring at us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Instead of feeling like valued customers, we felt judged and talked about. To make matters worse, when we got our food, the fries were mostly the small crunchy pieces from the bottom of the container. Anyone who's been to Five Guys knows their fries are usually one of the best parts of the meal, but this batch felt like we were given leftovers instead of a fresh serving.Overall, the combination of rude behavior and low-quality food made this a really disappointing visit. I hope management addresses the customer service issues because no one should feel uncomfortable just for walking in to order food.

I haven't been here in years even though I'm at Pearlridge a lot. I opted for Genki next door, while the hubby ate here. He got a cheeseburger $12.79 and a regular fries $7.29. The food here is pricey. It came to around $19 and that's without a drink. The burger is a decent size and you get to put whatever toppings you want on it. The beef they use is all natural. Their fries are homemade and they still give out complimentary peanuts. The food was good. No complaints. Hey, you get what you pay for.

Today I revisited Five Guys here in Hawaii. First time I tried it, I was traveling with my cousin in the Northern Cali a decade ago. It was amazing that first time. Because back then a burger place was a fast food place. Here was Five Guys, burgers cooked to order, 100% beef patties smashed one at a time. Served right off the grill. For that I'm willing to pay more for "just a hamburger ". You have so many condiments to choose from! Next time I'll skip the bacon on mine and just have pickles and grilled onions, lettuce and mayonnaise. The meat patties are so good on its own. The service was excellent, patient and helpful with helping me choose my burger. The shakes are extra thick. Yum! So it was just as good this time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I missed the peanut shells on the floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Good burgers here! Like being able to add toppings. I prefer a lettuce wrap. They do that well. Like the peanuts that they have. Before it used to be in the open. But of course Covid... however if you ask them it's given in a brown bag.

I had a Double Patty -cheese - onion - lettuce - mayo - ketchup - pickle and Bacon. Tasty burger but hard to eat. Sloppy, I guess next time I won't ask for too much add ons. The fries were soggy not crispy! Maybe because they were just about to close for the day. I'll try again another day maybe lunchtime.

Burgers and lots of fries. Lots and lots of fries. I shared a medium order of fries with my teenaged grandson and we couldn't even finish it! We had the bacon burgers and it's so good! People here are always so nice and the stores always clean. We're here about once a month.

Fresh fries!! Dry peanuts is a must and free!! I

When we got our food, my burger was only luke warm (and my onion rings, too). I ordered it medium rare and this was the first time it was almost medium, and not any all juicy. Since I paid an extra $3.50 for my onion rings I was very disappointed. Only plus is they were nice and crunchy. Hubby's burger and fries were hot, so my order must have been made first and then just sat there for a while. Hubby was happy with his meal since it was hot and cooked medium as he ordered. Not happy. First time I gave them only three stars.

I would say that Forty Niner is a great place to get the bang for your buck in terms of pricing for their food, but I will say that the quality of the food isn't as great as it's presented on their ordering site, Beluga. Today, my husband and I chose to do takeout and ordered three things: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chorizo Hash, and the Molokai Loco Moco. For the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the lemon taste was pretty concentrated in the middle of the pancake/not well distributed and we couldn't really taste the ricotta flavor, but it was pleasantly sweet (not too sweet). For the Chorizo Hash, I was a little bit sad that it wasn't very flavorful and the Chorizo wasn't well cooked. The Molokai Loco Moco's flavor receives the same review as the Chorizo Hash; although it was special/the first time we'd had Loco Moco like that, it was pretty soggy/watery and lacked flavor. The food itself in my opinion gets a 3.5/5, but because they were timely and friendly as a staff, I'm bumping our review up to a 4! P.S: This location is in the corner of a neighborhood street and Kam Hwy and the parking is pretty small/limited!

But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.

I called the day before to order a small party pan of Fried Udon, and wow - it was really good! They were very generous with the beef, udon, and veggies. Unfortunately, the whole reason I ordered fried udon was to avoid eggs for my nephew, but I completely forgot to mention that when I placed the order... oops! Lol! He just skipped the noodles that day, but the adults were more than happy to enjoy his share for him! When I called to ask about pickup, I was hoping for 10am, but was told the earliest it could be ready was 10:30. I said, "Shux! I'll already be back in Ewa Beach by then, so it's okay." To my surprise, the woman on the phone offered to have it ready earlier, and we settled on 10:15 instead. I really appreciated her willingness to accommodate my schedule. It was one of my favorite dishes here. Unfortunately, the food just didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. The pork chop in particular tasted a little off to me, and instead of the Chinese-inspired flavors I remembered, the dishes felt more like local comfort food with a bit of Chinese flair. The overall experience also felt a little lacking in warmth and friendliness. I know many restaurants are facing challenging times, and it's never my intention to leave a low review. I genuinely want local businesses to succeed. But one thing I've learned throughout my food journey is that when food is made with love, you can taste it. It's more than just the ingredients--it's the care, pride, and aloha that come with it. And when that feeling is missing, you notice it too. This is simply my honest experience. No hate, just Queenie keeping it real. I'm hoping this was just an off day, and I truly wish them the best moving forward.
