You should know, the day before this I ate at Ka Makana Five Guys and had a great grilled cheese! So yeah, I ate at five guys two days in a row, but I blame the grilled cheese and my friends agreeing to go to Five Guys. Anyways, I like this location a lot more than the Kapolei location because it's bigger and it's not white light reflecting off white light, much easier on the eyes. I took off two stars because I ordered the same grilled cheese that I did the day before, had a great experience and it was night and day this time around. The one I had in Kapolei was able to melt the cheese, but this one didn't even seem like they tried...so I asked if they could make it again. Understandably, when I asked if they could make it again, they asked what was wrong and I told them the cheese wasn't melted, which sets my expectations for the next one. They made another one (begrudgingly) and I got the same results as far as the cheese. But at least this one was warm so more heat did hit the cheese, but just not enough to melt it per my request. Everything around the burger tastes good but the burger itself is not seasoned or something. The workers are working hard and you don't have to wait long. The burgers are big and look great but somehow, all you can taste is the stuff around the burger. Maybe I am not ordering it correctly? I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Five Guys. From the moment we walked in, the staff was giving us dirty looks and whispering to each other while staring at us. It made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Instead of feeling like valued customers, we felt judged and talked about. To make matters worse, when we got our food, the fries were mostly the small crunchy pieces from the bottom of the container. Tonight I left 2 other restaurants because when I walked up to the counter the workers saw me but didn't come to take my order or even acknowledge me. I haven't been here in years even though I'm at Pearlridge a lot. I opted for Genki next door, while the hubby ate here. He got a cheeseburger $12.79 and a regular fries $7.29. The food here is pricey. It came to around $19 and that's without a drink. The burger is a decent size and you get to put whatever toppings you want on it. The beef they use is all natural. Today I revisited Five Guys here in Hawaii. First time I tried it, I was traveling with my cousin in the Northern Cali a decade ago. It was amazing that first time. Because back then a burger place was a fast food place. Here was Five Guys, burgers cooked to order, 100% beef patties smashed one at a time. Served right off the grill. For that I'm willing to pay more for "just a hamburger ". You have so many condiments to choose from! Next time I'll skip the bacon on mine and just have pickles and grilled onions, lettuce and mayonnaise. The meat patties are so good on its own. On March 30th, my female friend and her teen sister went to Five Guys Pearlridge for lunch. When ordering our meal, a mid-age Japanese woman at the counter asked me and my 30 year age woman friend/date-' WHO are you'? Is that your'e daughter? The atmosphere seemed like In-N-Out Burger with red and white, old school look of the restaurant but as far as the taste is concern it's not even close. We had a hard time ordering two burgers so much that I didn't realize you get to choose your toppings. So don't be like me, order your burger with the basics like lettuce, tomato, pickles etc. and then you can add others like bbq sauce. So that you get a full experience. The counter person was nice but didn't know how to take our order and it took us awhile. We ordered little cheeseburger, little hamburger, fries, oreo milk shake, and a drink. The food items were all thrown inside a bag and seemed very sloppy. The only good part was the oreo milk shake. Their fries are made with peanut oil and it's not the crispy fries. It's more like straight, crinkle fries. We spend $40. I feel like I have to try them some where with better service and cleaner dining room. They have signs plastered all over the wall advertising how good their burgers are. For the price, I can get a pretty good burger for $20 at a full serviced restaurant. read more

I order a Bacon Cheeseburger "All The Way" w/ Jalapeño's, Bbq sauce on the side. Little Cajun Fries, and a cup for water because the cashier thought the unsweetened iced tea ran out. I found out a few minutes later they still have unsweetened tea. I still want iced tea, but then I'd have to stand in line again, which was steady at that point. I stick with the water. Btw, the push button drink dispensing machine is great! Bacon Cheeseburger $14.29 Little Cajun Fries $5.59 Total: $20.82 The food was cooked to order and arrived promptly. The burger is thicc. I smash it down so I can bite it. My first impression: Definitely edible, but nothing special. The hamburger patty itself has zero seasoning so I'm searching for flavor. Then I notice they forgot to add the bacon and jalapeño's. The American cheese wasn't the best, so I scraped it off. The bun was soft with a sweet bread type texture. Not a good match for a burger. Cajun Fries portion is huge for size Little. Although the fries arrived piping hot, they were soft and a bit salty. There were some tasty skinny crispy fries here and there, but I tossed out over half of the fries. I had high hopes after hearing such glowing reviews, but this was not it. I generally give a restaurant one shot. If the food is on the expensive side (as this was in my opinion) and the quality and taste of the food is mediocre, I'll probably never go back. When my number was called, I asked for some ketchup, and the person put some in a small container, and literally slid it across the counter to me. At first I ignored it, but as I turned around, another waiting customer looked at me, smiled, and just shook his head. I will NEVER go back to this location (if I ever go back to 5 Guys at all). The staff was rude, and for a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda that came to $25, I expect a little courtesy. Also, the food was not that good. read more

Been some years since we had stopped in a Five Guys. First time at the Pearl ridge location. Ordered two burgers, two shakes, and a fries to share. Noticed signage up stating that all napkins, straws, lids are available only by request. Tables had not been cleaned and had to ask for napkins just to clean the seat and table. Now Five guys is always expensive but with the topping you can get the price is easier to look past. I guess this location does not provide peanuts which is something Five Guys was known for but maybe post covid it's not a thing anymore. When the food came out you have to request ketchup and they pump it behind the counter. I requested malt vinegar but was told they don't have that, this is another staple I was used to Five Guys having in the past which was disappointing since it was in my head that was what I would be having. Burger buns were cold and one of the burgers half the cheese was stuck to the wrapper. One burger had lettuce but all the lettuce was lettuce from the core so it was chunks of uneditable lettuce. Burgers were not seasoned either. So for some luke warm burgers with bad quality ingredients the price point was awful. Seems like the owner/general manager is taking some pricing shortcuts and it's reflective in the service and quality. Well considering that we paid $68 for 4 people with two of the burgers having bacon to eventually realize there was indeed no bacon in either. My nephew said we should ask for our missing bacon, but considering I was more than half way done with my burger it seemed to be more trouble than it was worth, "This will be our last Five Guys meal anyway," I replied.
