A SWEET TREAT! It is 5am and I am very hungry. I suddenly remember that I have this cranberry glazed cinnamon roll purchased yessterday and I go for it. I slightly warm it in the microwave before devouring it and it is delicious. It still tastes freshly made and I love that it is lightly glazed and not overdone with a heavy topping or tons of fat. It is just perfect for me. As you walk past this store you will see their production room where the guys are handling the dough and cutting the donuts. I will preface this by saying I'm not really a donut person. They typically have made me feel terrible in the past. We went mid Saturday morning and there wasn't a terrible line. I ordered the vegan guava and my son had the vegan cinnamon sugar. Both were delish! The cinnamon was very light and fluffy (I tried a bite!) and mine didn't have that heavy oily feeling like some donuts do. I don't remember what my husband ordered, but he liked them. We are from out of town and we here for work and stopped by Five Daughters to grab some donuts and omg we had no idea how amazing they would be. The donut holes alone melt in your mouth and are easily the most delicious I have ever tasted. We got a dozen donuts and cut them up in pieces so we could all sample the different flavors. We all probably ate like four donuts each in total, which is disgusting but in our defense, we couldn't stop ourselves. My favorite was the Key Lime. My husbands favorite was the Cherry Cheesecake. Found this gem in the renovated downtown Factory mall. Love this place. After a tough couple of weeks of sugar detox my hubby and I gave in and shared a vanilla cream doughnut. Oh my!! That truly is the best way to die. I am not going to regret one bite but you may want to eat one after a protein filled meal. Staff is friendly and fast. Customers just take a while deciding on all the wonderful choices. The only reason it doesn't get all five stars is the seating, but it's next to the mall center, where people can lounge and spill sugar all over the place. read more

I have been waiting to one here since we moved to Nashville a month ago. We finally made it on a Sunday morning and we were not disappointed! The decor of this place is so cute on the inside and I love that they keep the theme of Five Daughters throughout the shop. At 10:30am on a Sunday they still had a big variety of goodies to chose from. Although they are pricey for a donut they are so delicious and worth every penny. We got the King Kong donut and the sweet and salty of the bacon was the perfect combo! My boyfriend is not a fan of sweets and gobbled his donut down in just a few seconds. I've been here more times than I'd care to admit, and it has a reputation for being amazing because it is amazing. Aside from the adorable family photos of the little five daughters of the owners/bakers that you'll see on Instagram, the images of their donuts are a work of art, as are the taste profiles of these calorie-dense delectables. Being from New Zealand, we have a long donut that is similar in texture and flavor to this croissant-like treat. So it's as if I was born to love these little flavour bombs. I've tried many of the donuts that they offer and I don't think I've had a bad one. One of my favourites was a passion fruit donut, so sweet and tangy. They have a wide variety of options but they may not all be available, depending on seasons and menu selection for that day. It's not for everyone, however. My wife is not a fan of croissants in general so the texture of these treats are not her thing. And sometimes they can be a tad sweet, so you may be disappointed that you can only eat one donut. I've been eating healthier lately so maybe my sweet tooth has diminished because I never would have thought that I would ever say that something is too sweet but here I am...my maple donut was overwhelmingly sweet. Donuts are usually one of my guilty pleasures and I used to be able to put a couple away pretty quickly but I could barely make it through one. The dough was pretty good and was rolled in sugar, the maple frosting did not have a strong maple flavor, which I prefer a really strong maple flavor. The filling was not my favorite, it added too much sweetness for me. I would prefer a donut not filled! The selection was good and we were there around 11am on a Friday morning. So I will self-proclaim (and I guess disclaim) myself as a HUGE fan of their donuts. Their paleo donuts are delicious, their 100 layer donuts are a huge hit among all of my peers and office mates...and honestly what got me hooked on their goods. Imagine layers of flaky, fresh joy with a sweet--but not overpowering--flavors of the doughnut in your mouth. I know it can be hard to find a donut sometimes at their sellers (to my knowledge they do not have a direct from the bakery walk in buy...but you can get them to cater and it's worth it) since they're expanding their kitchen, but Honest Roasters almost always have their baked treats. I sent a little after 12. I was notified that they open at 9, so I can imagine it might be better if I got there first. There were very few kinds of donuts left, so I choose two maple glazed. Regular donuts, not the hundred layer donuts. They were pretty as far as donuts go that aren't decorated. There was only employees working so the line wasn't fast moving. Two people got out of line without buying anything, after talking to the employee. I don know what that was about. The two donuts came to $6something with tax. They were covered in fuzz, but I think that was included in the price. Some of the fuzz could be picked off, but not all of it. The donuts themselves were underwhelming. They weren't artificially sweet, which I appreciate but they just weren't good. My review might have been different if I was one of the people lined up before they opened, but I wasn't. read more

Went here to grab some donuts for my family. The cost is high but they are so great. I also like the breakfast sandwiches they offer.

Oh my cronut! Listen, the first time I heard of this wizardry, I knew I had to have it. I love donuts and I love croissants but to mesh them together would be crazy good, right? RIGHT. My husband and I drove out to Franklin on Saturday for an estate sale and thought it would be the perfect time to head over to the factory and try "the best donuts I've ever had" - everyone who has ever had a cronut. The line was out the door, and wrapped around a roped off section along the outside of the bakery. The wait surprisingly wasn't terribly long. We chose 4 different "100 layer" cronuts, 1 jelly filled donut, a box of cronut holes, 1 egg & cheddar biscuit, 1 molnar: a fried egg and cheese croissant (no bacon), and 2 waters. Up until this moment, I have never in my life spent $41 at a bakery. Having said that, EVERYTHING was delicious and the staff were all incredibly nice. These miracle donuts were not only layer upon layer of light and fluffy croissant, but also STUFFED with whipped, creamy heaven. And don't even get me started on the friggin fried egg croissant. Oh boy. I believe my exact words were "out of this world." We are never really in Franklin, but from what I've heard, you can find these goodies in various coffee shops around Nashville, including barista parlor and ugly mugs. One thing: get there early. I went on a Monday afternoon (around 2pm), and there were barely any donuts left. I expected them to sell out, but I ended up getting my hands on the "maple donut." Overall, the donut is chewer than the donuts I am used to. If you've tried Gibson's in Memphis, you know what I mean.
