In town for a work conference. This cute little ice cream store sits in the middle of a very busy area. A lot of seating outside. I visited this twice in 2 days it was that delicious. The staff is very fast and friendly. And my favorite had to be them offering what I call a flight. Where you can order 4 different 1/2 scoops of ice cream. They also allow you to try before you buy which is awesome. When we went in the second time some of the flavors had changed. Not sure how often that happens but I was excited. Creamy delectable Icecream!! Was craving dessert and was traveling from out of town. Found Jeni's to be close from where I was staying and it didn't disappoint. There was a long line when I arrived and that that a bummer, but is is obviously a popular spot. Was ackward with the line and trying to wait near the door as the facility kept asking patrons to keep the door shut, so people crammed once they got past the door. The smell inside is sweet and makes your mouth water. They had a really nice selection of ice cream, allow samples and were making the waffle cones at the counter. Jeni's is my favorite place for cold & creamy sweetness! With only two young ladies working this Sunday, service was slower than usual but their friendliness made up the difference! If you're not in a hurry go check out a few of their new flavors like their Bridgerton Queen Charlotte (an almond buttercream with raspberry-rose jam and honey creation) or one of my classic favorites - the Goat Cheese & Cherries (think cherry cheesecake but with a twist)! GET THE WAFFLE BOWL, not the waffles cone. I wish I had a pic of the mess my husband had as he tried to eat his cone faster than the ice cream could melt! Tonight the line wasn't too long when we got to Jeni's, only 3 couples in front of us until we got to the door. It still took almost 30 minutes to leave with the frozen delight that we came for. By the time we were leaving the park, the line was at least 10 deep waiting outside that door. It's Monday night, I can't even begin to imagine a Sunday afternoon. Jeni's touts its molecular makeup. How the milk proteins build something which causes something to do something else. Cool. But what I care about - how does it taste? Absolutely amazing! Creamy, flavor forward, absolutely decadent. It is as perfect as ice cream gets. I ordered tonight's special - the goose tracks bowl. 1/2 scoop each of goose tracks, honey vanilla and double dough all snug together in a waffle bowl. Wonderful location near locations serving wine, food and dessert. There is some seating inside but most are outside and at the adjacent small outdoor park. All the flavors I've tasted have been really tasty and creamy. One of their unique flavors is Sweet Cream Biscuits and Peach Jam and you can actually taste the biscuits. Great location with lots of restaurants near by and plenty of parking with two garages near by or street parking. (Parking is free). The have outside tables and in a park like setting that attracts families with small children. Always seems to be a long wait for ice cream and upon each visit they seem to be out of something. This recent visit, they were only taking credit, said their waffle machine was broken, and couldn't print receipts. I think given the crowd and only 3 employees working they probably didn't have the time or energy to make waffle cones or refill the register with receipt. Bummer as I missed getting my reward points. Will stick to the factory Jeni's for future visits. read more

Visited August 05, 2023. Any time my family is in Franklin, we just have to swing by and grab a bite to fulfill our sweet tooth craving. Of all the Jeni's locations, this is my favorite. There's ample outdoor seating, street parking and a parking garage behind the adjacent building (navigate behind North Italia to find it). Jeni's is located right on the lawn, you cannot miss it! Inside is small with limited seating and a restroom in the back. They have a wide selection to choose from and pints to take home! My favorite has to be the 'High Five candy bar' - chocolate bits, salty, crunchy from the pretzels, and caramel swirls within. They're also have few limited dairy free options for vegans. Service here is hit and miss. The male staff seems nicer. I've had two encounters with the female staff where they just stared, didn't greet my family at all, and went straight into 'you know what you want?' However that doesn't bother me as much as not having a receipt. The many times I've visited the charges always change even though we get the same thing. After being rung up, my husband had a single scoop on a cake cone once versus full double so I mentioned the change but it was still the same price according the the cashier. That was a little frustrating because he was confused and seemed to spit out that answer so we can move along. Other than the receipt thing I have no real complaints! The blackout chocolate is exactly how it sounds... deep dark chocolate with a bitterness to it. The gooey butter cake is always my favorite and is buttery, sweet, and delicious. I ordered the Brown Butter Almond Brittle and my wife got the salty caramel and Texas sheet ice cream in a cone. Their ice cream is absolutely phenomenal. So good, and reasonably priced. So why the horrible review? Have you ever been to a restaurant where you're made to feel not as a welcomed guest, but as a pariah? That is the reason for this review. I don't know that I'll be back. First, their indoor dining room is still closed "due to Covid" (they may be the only food establishment in the entire county that still has the dining room closed) Four of us went in and bought four ice cream cones for $25. Since the indoor area was still closed we went outside to sit at one of the 7 or so outdoor tables that were there. None of them were occupied save for one being used for a job interview. Each table had 3 chairs each and as I mentioned there were four of us. So I said "I'll grab a chair." Immediately the employee at the adjacent table conducting the interview interjected. "Ummmmm we prefer you leave the chairs alone as they're extremely heavy." This quote does not accurately reflect her tone of voice, but clearly we were the worst part of her entire day. I smiled and said "I promise I will put it back." I grabbed the chair and carried it (easily with one arm) to our table. The employee rolled her eyes and said to the the job-seeker "I'm so sorry, I completely lost my train of thought." Myself and everyone I was with just looked at each other and couldn't believe that actually just happened. It's not even so much about their preference (albeit ridiculous) that all chairs remain with their associated tables, but simply the way we're were treated and scolded like misbehaving children. First: I love the ice cream at all Jeni's locations. It's amazing! However, we had an awful experience at this one due to their covid restrictions and the way the employees "enforce" them. We brought friends from out of town there last night (who were so excited to try it), and Jeni's is not allowing for indoor seating. We had a 3 month old baby with our group and it was freezing cold and drizzling rain outside. Since there was no one else in the restaurant except the employees and our group we hoped they would let stand in the corner and eat our ice cream indoors. NOPE. The employee rudely told us we had to leave and sit outside. My friend kindly asked if we could stay until we finished our ice cream (and pointed out her newborn baby). The employee said no still and kicked us out pointing out they had an outdoor table we could use. You couldn't even sit outside despite the cold weather because everything was covered in rain. I understand that they have to "enforce" the corporate policy, but the employee could do so in a friendlier way. It's ridiculous that on a night like that we couldn't stay for another few minutes. There's no need to be rude. Just be aware that if you go here right now, you're signing up to be kicked out as soon as you get your ice cream. There are also no samples. And the employees treat you more like they are moving you through an assembly line then the typical "fun and friendly" Jeni's experience. read more
