Most of the experience was okay. Waitress was slow on refills. It's like she would only bring the refills if we specifically asked which was annoying because there would be longer periods where we didn't see her. Biggest complaint: I used some salt on my onion rings and sandwich. I didn't even get halfway through my sandwich when I looked and noticed something black on the salt container. IT WAS A BUG. We politely told the waitress about it and she had that demeanor of "Not again...". No apology. Nothing. At the end, she brought boxes and I mentioned I didn't need one since I had put salt on everything. Still nothing. I didn't want to be rude because it wasn't her fault. Its exciting to see new things pop up in South County and Fitz's is no exception. We were seated immediately and the service from our waiter wasn't top notch. He wasn't very attentive but got the job done. It was girls night so we all splurged and ordered an original float then our meals (wraps and chicken sandwich). The floats were overflowing but hit the spot. The food was great - the fries seasoned just right and the sandwiches and wraps were plentiful. Visited late afternoon with our grandkids and great grandkids. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated immediately. Waitress was prompt and quickly brought our drink orders. We ordered two floats for our great grandkids to split and they were more than enough for all of us to have a taste. The food was good and came out promptly and hot. I substituted onion rings and since the menu said breaded was expecting a more flaky covering. After we finished our meal, me bbq burger and my wife a quesadilla, my wife thought we needed a float. It was delicious but it's just a bit too much after our meal. Our waitress kept our mugs full and since we with dining with small children she did not let the service drag. Hello folks.. my son and his girlfriend took me out to eat. They really wanted me to enjoy myself. Which I most certainly did. My issue with this establishment was disregard for customer satisfaction. My son's girlfriend Mercedes ordered a wrap of some kind which was to have a little spice to it (allegedly). We got our food and one bite into the wrap her eyes start watering. The wrap set her taste buds on fire. Well the waiter QUAN finally came back to the table to give us a check and asked how many boxes we needed. I told him that she was unhappy with her order and he didn't acknowledge what I said. This is a big NOPE for me. Won't be going back here again willingly. From the moment we walked in at 4:15pm on a Thursday afternoon it was just a cluster. Took forever for the hostess to acknowledge us, once she did we were seated only after a manager and another server pulled out the seating chart to figure out where they were going to seat people because tables were filthy all over. We were seated up near the bar in between several dirty tables. The only reason I'm going with two stars is because the server we had was doing his best at first to help us. I ordered the River City burger, basic burger with cheese and bacon. Let's just say, it was blah. It was over cooked, no taste and the burger was almost two sizes smaller than the bun. We also ordered the Apple Crisp. This was burned on the bottom and was mostly tasteless as well. The root beer of course was good, but for $3.99 bottomless refills, I should have had a clean glass and more than the offer of just one refill. The first glass was covered in what tasted like Black Cherry soda and ran red when the ice melted off of it. The severs were mostly hanging out complaining by the POS systems and the mangers seemed non existent. The kid behind the bar thought every song played was for his own personal American Idol audition. I'm already not feeling well after that nasty burger, let's hope I am not getting food poisoning as well from this awful experience. read more

This is a fun place to go with the family. The portions are huge! There are many kid friendly options. My kid loved the smiley fries. Our server wasn't the most attentive and we had to ask for things multiple times. They also provide crayons/coloring if your kid needs distraction. My burger was huge and unfortunately I had no room for dessert. It's a great place for large groups. For the record I stopped eating at Fitz's years ago. Their stale overblown menu along with basically terrible food was not going to make me stop at the U-City location in St. Louis County, when Blueberry Hill had much better burgers at a better price across Delmar ave. So when I was asked to join family at this location I thought I would give them another shot. Well I should've taken a shot to the face from Ali before dining at this despicable restaurant. The recovery time would have been much shorter as I was unwell for 3 days afterwards. I am not going to dissect my meal as it would be pointless. The only thing worth discussing from this meal were the 2 sodas I consumed. One was a cola with coffee added & Black Cherry soda. They were both delicious and I think the coffee cola would make fantastic rum & coke with an aged rum. But of course you can't get that at their bar because they only have white & spiced. The Black Cherry is a sweet tart surprise of deliciousness. Again my burger & fries were so disgusting I didn't finish either. To say this was a disappointment is an overstatement. I didn't expect much and I got less than I expected including, probable food poisoning. read more

Came here on Labor Day at 2 pm, and there was a 30-minute wait, which was pretty surprising for so late in the day -- no big deal though. The decor was clean, industrial, and modern. It's a great place for kids, since there's a lot of ambient noise. That said, the food was generally underwhelming. I got the jalapeño burger special, and despite all of the fixings (fried jalapeños and pickles), the burger patty's relative tastelessness left something to be desired. The sweet potato fries were decent, but really should've come with dipping sauce. Finally, the coffee cola tasted medicinal to me, so I wouldn't recommend it, even to the biggest java junkie. Overall, I know Fitz's has a great reputation, but I'm not in any hurry to return. There are too many reliably better options to give this place a second chance. read more

This is so tough. The service was remarkable! Our server, Kenz, was quick and delightful. The food, however, was pretty mediocre. The Barbeque Platter claimed to have "house smoked" meat. So underwhelming. Let's start with walking in to the restaurant. I almost slipped and fell on the way to the table due to the slick flooring. It wasn't wet but finished in such a way that I would have to worry about what kind of shoe I wore just to get dinner. Huge safety issue. The menu had no shining moment. I specifically chose options that weren't a sandwich or typical meal. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and a bowl of the gumbo. The gumbo was not very hot and most of the vegetables were still hard. The buffalo cauliflower was "okay". My date ordered bottomless mug drinks but the waitress seemed overwhelmed and he only got two drinks the entire meal. I understand there are hiccups during the first few weeks of operation so hopefully staff gets better. All in all I feel this place is NOT worth the wait or the hype. This city is full of amazing restaurants and this place just doesn't make the cut. read more
