We have tried to work with Firch over the past two years as we wanted two new skylights in our great room. They had done a good job replacing two skylights previously although we had to nearly cancel the project due to numerous delays and missed installation dates. We only went back to them because they could offer a transferable warranty on the skylights. After numerous lies and missed appointments, we cancelled. Be carful, I contracted in February for a sun room to be installed on a new home. I was clear i wanted the sun room installed right after the closing, and have a date on my contract of 7/15. The first project manager said nothing could be ordered until a sizing was done. I explained that when I contracted it was new construction and all that is there now is a cement foundation. I got crickets. Now I am told they are running 1.5 weeks behind, and are into August. Well the 1.5 is like almost a month from the date of install on my contract. Sales person was great, however the project mangers leave a lot to be desired. No call backs and no commitment to meeting the goals set at contract. read more

The company completed the install of a Four Seasons room addition to our house on August 12, 2020. Since the install, we have had numerous leaks which resulted in wood damage, and in some areas rotted wood was covered over without replacing. First on August 18th, our flooring installers exposed the water barrier membrane around the perimeter of the room to begin the tiling, which revealed soaking wet, rotting wood. This wood is 32 years old from when the original sunroom was built and it supports the entire room. In my opinion, for $100 in wood this should have been replaced. ( tiling is cancelled the first time) On August 21, the production manager came out to look at the damage. He cut out a piece of the wood which showed considerable rot on the top and the bottom of the wood.. He said exactly "that the wood still has some meat to it" and the solution was to take down the room and replace the rotted wood, which he said they have no intention of doing. Apparently water got trapped under the water shield barrier around the perimeter of the room as it was exposed to the elements for a week or so during the rebuild process. No real explanation was given as to why this happened other than its very unusual, and we were told to run fans and a dehumidifier. I am just hopeful that its integrity hasn't been compromised and that we don't have issues down the road,The most recent leak became apparent on September 4, 2020 after a heavy rain, which has caused further delays to our construction schedule ( had to cancel tiling again). As there were new water stains around a wrapped wooden support beam, we decided to remove the metal to see where the water is coming from. The beam was completely rotted and soaked and we found out that each time it rains the metal wrap around the beam had disguised the leak. It was so deteriorated that you could put your hand through it. I had to hire a contractor to replace it immediately as I feared the structural integrity was compromised. Now we are on standby, waiting for the company to respond , have someone come and repair the room to eliminate the leaks. Meanwhile our floor installer, electrician, painter, and carpenter is kept in limbo. We have sent several emails, texts and left voice messages for the owner and the production manager and have received no response for 4 days now. read more

Excellent job installing our sky light and sun tunnel. They look beautiful and had you not known they were newly installed you would think they were always there. It was a 3 and 1/2 day job and when they left at the end of each day everything was cleaned up as if nothing had gone on. Fitch construction is the most unprofessional, unresponsive, and dishonest company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They misdiagnosed the cause of a leak in our house. They told us we needed a new skylight to fix the leak. They never showed up the day we scheduled the installation. After paying over $1000 for the installation of a new skylight, the leak continued and got worse. One worker came out time and time again (and I can't even tell you how many times he no called/no showed), checked the skylight even though it was clear at that point that that was not the issue. A different employee came, fixed the problem with a few shingles and nails, which would have been much cheaper than the skylight. After countless calls and unanswered messages, I was forced to go to their office with my newborn daughter to demand answers. This was not the first time I had to physically go to the office to speak to someone to get any kind of response. The owner had the audacity to claim that I requested a new skylight and that's what they provided. I told him multiple times that we requested to have the leak fixed to which he replied, "You requested a skylight. We installed a quality skylight." When that did not correct the problem, we expected his company to maintain accountability for their work and fix the damage caused by their prolonged misdiagnosis. It took almost a year for them to correct the problem resulting in damage to the ceiling inside the house. Their employee cut out that part of the ceiling and stated that there was mold behind it. Granted, we don't know how long the mold was there but it was certainly worse due to the length of time the leak persisted and we never would have known it was there were it not for the damage done to the ceiling from the prolonged unfixed leak. Since that employee no longer worked for their company, they felt no obligation to finish the job and fix the hole in the ceiling even though that employee said they would send out their "dry wall guy." After lengthy arguing with David, the owner, he still admitted no fault of their company despite what I know to be true. I would not give up. In the end, he said he was willing to put $700 into the ceiling repair, nothing for mold remediation. I told him I didn't want anyone from his company on my property ever again and to cut a check for $700. The customer is always wrong at Fitch Construction. I am a college-educated, working professional in the ICU and have never been more displeased with another group of people that claim to be "professional." Rest assured, I tell the thousands of people I encounter to avoid Fitch construction. The information posted on their "About Us" section of their website is laughable. I would never use the words "quality," "professionalism," or "outstanding" to describe any part of Fitch construction, unless I were to say "The lack of quality work and total absence of professionalism set Fitch Construction apart. You can be confident your home project will be an outstanding failure." read more
