I would be very careful about the shiitake mushroom dishes I was excited to try this place out. I ate the teriyaki chicken, followed microwave instructions as told. Next morning developed a super itchy whiplash rash like I had been beaten by someone . It turns out this is some kind of toxic dermatitis called shiitake dermatitis that you can get from improperly cooked shiitake mushrooms. It is going on 2 weeks and the rash is slowly fading but still super itchy. I contacted them and the manager literally blew me off. Before you eat any of the shiitake dishes, make sure that you cook the mushrooms properly. The last few days have been hell for me. Needless to say, I am never going back. UPDATE in response to the owner The claim of addressing my issue over accusatory emails pointing fingers at the customer and denying my claim that I suffered is very bogus. If that is what your management calls addressing my issues that is unacceptable and irresponsible And to get the facts straight, toxic dermatitis from shiitake mushrooms is NOT related to bacteria. It is again from IMPROPER cooking via toxins . Not all toxins are bacteria !!!!!! While visiting a friend in Roseville I discovered a Groupon for Fit Eats and I'm SO GLAD I did. There are definite hits and misses (Swedish meatballs=bleh, sweet and sour meatballs=delish), but for such a healthy convenience it's a win. The meals are a little pricey, but I love the reusable containers to meal prep on my own, and if you get a large portion (around $10), you can make that two servings by adding a healthy grain or veg on the side. I also love how they tell you which ones freeze well, I now stock up when I visit. Extra bonus-stop by on a Sunday when they offer 30% off some options (just make sure you freeze them right away). I had my first Fit Eats meal today and it was pretty good. The regular sized lunch meal, Teriyaki Chicken for $8.99. I was impressed at the amount of chicken it had, however, the broccoli chunks were more like morsels but I'm ok with that. I'm not a fan of mushrooms so I had to pull those out but there seemed like a good amount of them in there. The "teriyaki" flavor was not very apparent but the chicken was still good with all white meat chunks. I guess you could say the amount of food overall was smaller than I hoped for but that is not a surprise since their website does advise that they are portion controlled. The cost also seemed a little high but again, not a surprise considering all the ingredients are advertised as healthy/unprocessed and well, let's face it, this is a money making business. I was happy to find out that the food containers are reusable, BPA free, microwave/freezer safe! They will get reused for my home made meals and will help me with keeping the portion to a healthy amount. I was also happy to see that the nutrition info included WW SmartPoints, although, it did seem like they may be estimating high as this meal was 9 points on their label when I calculated 7 using a WW SP calculator. Could be the extra sugar in the teriyaki sauce maybe...... I would say this is definitely a good option if you can afford the meal service on a regular basis. If not, it is definitely worth supplementing a few times a week in place of going out to each, which would probably cost you about the same and this would be way healthier. I have a few more to try in my fridge, hopefully they are just as good! read more

I recently relocated to Roseville and was excited about a source of healthy, prepared meals locally. I ordered a bunch of meals (cross section of breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and they delivered to my front door as promised. The meals, however, are a mixed bag-some excellent, some downright awful. So far, both the Chicken Parm and Balsamic Chicken with red potatoes and green beans have been worthy of reorder (both gluten free) while the Carne Asada and Strawberry pancakes were just terrible. I've also had the Fit Chili Pasta (good but very, very spicy) that would fall into the reorder category on a limited basis. Overall, if you are careful, these meals are a reasonably good option for an easy meal at home, I just don't think it will work for me as a daily option for multiple meals. read more

I've been working with a personal trainer for a few months now and have been seeing good results. He wants me to prepare all of my meals in advance half a week at a time to eliminate the need to grab something on the go. I happened to miss a few days of preparation due to a crazy week and he told me about Fit Eats. He grabbed me a few healthy pre-made meals from them to try out because he didn't want me to lose my momentum and the meals were really good! I liked the option of getting the meals delivered to my house and the flexibility in going to the actual storefront location if needed to. They have healthy breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and a la carte items as well. You can even warm your food up and eat it there if you want. If you didn't plan or prepare for the week, and you don't want to mess up your fitness goals, I would check them out. read more

My boyfriend and I walked in this morning. The guy behind the corner said "hi" Mind you, we are a fit couple who love to eat healthy & workout. We looked at the selections in the fridge, we had never been in there before, and didn't know how things work. Obviously we had questions, but he never said another word or offered to help us. I even walked up to the counter to grab a brochure, and he walked away to start stocking the fridge. Overall it was just a weird "silent" experience. He never offered us help, nor tried to sell us on why we should pick fit eats. So I guess I still won't know how fit eats works cause we won't be back. We will just stick to Ice Age Meals until we find another company who genuinely wants to help us. read more

Just tried Fit Eats last night..went by and purchased 4 items..thought they were a little pricey, but the portions seemed good sized...had the flank steak with fingerling potatoes for dinner last night...very bland, might be geared for those with sodium restrictions but definitely needed seasoning.Had the breakfast bowl this morning and was very disappointed...soggy, limp undercooked bacon, not even sure exactly what else was in it except for the chunks of potato, which were pretty good. I decided to freeze my other purchases to try another time. Overall, because of the price and flavor I will most likely stick with frozen Lean Cuisine dinners when I don't want to cook.. read more

Not good! Was in town visiting from Seattle and my sweet niece recommend we give it a try. This is a great idea and was excited to have some healthy choices for dinner. Bought the 'steak and blue' and 'chicken pesto with zucchini noodles'... steak was tough, broccoli hard and way too many undercooked carrots. The chicken and zucchini was just ok, I had to grate cheese over it to make it taste ok. We won't be going back and felt it was a waste of $20. read more

Very disappointed in everything about this place. I decided to take advantage of the recent groupon special they have. While shopping at the store the steak meat was discounted 50 percent I asked the guy why that was and he said they just had less in them. I thought great I would try it along with a few other entrees mind you totaling over the amount of my groupon. I get to work to discover the 50 percent meat was not reduced so I called the store and he said no worries bring you receipt back and we will give you the difference. I explained I wouldn't be right back as it is not easy to get there no problem take a picture. Ok so a week later on my way home from an urgent care appt with my 2 year old I swing by and am told sorry we cannot adjust as you cannot use groupon and discounts. If I knew this do you think I would have picked out the one that was 50 percent off? I was also told I would get it back? So she calls her manager who in turn tells her she will call me back. I still have not received a call. The vegetables had to much pepper I couldn't eat them, the potato/cauliflower was sour and bland and the chicken had a overpowering taste as well... ironically the only thing we enjoyed was the steak meat. These meals are great. I love the convenience and the portion control. Love the low fat and calories that helps me hit my macros. Most of the meals I have had taste good ...my favorites are Carne Asada Bowl, Blackened Flank Steak, and Roasted Turkey (very juicy and tender). I especially love their breakfasts ... Apple Cinnamon Muffins with an egg scramble ... Mmmmm! Delivery is always on time. I have never had an incorrect order. On a few occasions, it does look like the delivery bags have been tossed around and the food is a bit shaken up, but it still tastes great. I called about the rough handling, and the Customer Service Rep was amazing and handled it right away. Next delivery was perfect. I think the cost is reasonable since it includes delivery. Honestly, less than one trip through McD's drive-thru, and this food is healthy and delicious. It fuels my workouts and makes me feel good. The convenience is priceless and the fact that I don't need to spend time "Thinking about my food." It's just there ready to heat and eat. Thank you Fit Eats! read more

Honestly the down town location is way better. All the food apparently comes from down there but the customer service in Roseville is eh at the best. The food is very blan which comes to be expected with the product being sold but it's clear that the owners do not do a very good job. I've been giving this one a chance for a couple months on and off and I have only received decent service and food once. The veggies are bizarre and you can tell that the people in charge are inconsistent at best because they all have different things to say about there policies and food. I think this place would benefit from new ownership or management because the relationship marketing they have is pretty bad. I have been doing fit eats for a couple of weeks now and love, love, love he convenience. I have been ordering online since getting to either of the locations is challenging during the week for me. I am not much of a cook and always throw so much food away when I do because its almost impossible to buy ingredients for one. The website works well. Delivery is great and I love that I can order the day before so don't have to plan a week in advance as some other delivery services. The food comes in a good serving size and the containers can be reused. There is a wide selection of options. I'm only giving it three stars because my first week I found I didn't like most of the meals, the second week I started liking it a bit more, not sure if it was different food choices or if I was getting used to it. I have decided to continue because I can get convenient, transportable, satisfying meals that are healthy and a reasonable calorie count (around 300 calories, I tried munchery and those meals are around 700-900 calories, not as much of a selection although the food was good.). read more

Picked up a couple of packs for lunch at work (right across the parking lot). Had no expectations because I've never used this type of service, but was surprised at the prices. A bit pricey for me, but I did appreciate the WW Smart Points indicated on each meal package. Very helpful in determining my choices. Thought the Sodium count was a bit high, so that will be a factor for me as well. Had a coupon code to use for registering on their site, but discovered I could only use it for online ordering and not an in-store purchase. Went back to the office to order and discovered I couldn't pick up the order on the same day (Friday), so ordered for pick up on Monday after work. Arrived at Roseville location to pick up on Monday and my order was no where to be found. The gal behind the counter called someone and was told the order may have been sent to the Sacramento location . . . my order confirmation clearly indicated the Roseville location. She then had to pull the items from the refrigerator to compile my order . . . again, I could have done this on my own, but they wouldn't let me use the coupon code in-store, only online. Not a good first experience and definitely won't be using the online service again. On a positive note - the Fit Chili Pasta was tasty & spicey; the Chicken Enchilada Casserole was very good. I work across the street so I thought I'd give it a shot. I got the buffalo chicken bowl and brouoght it back to my office to find a huge hair through the food. I called over the the store- which when I was there had multiple people working who instead were sitting outside talking. I was told that they would not bring me another one but to hold on to the one with a hair and bring it back with me to exchange it. No apologies no service nothing. I was not going to hold on to a lunch with a hair in it until the time I could go back. I was unable to go back that day due to meetings. I went back today and told them what happened and they had nothing to say no apologies pretty much ignored me and said yeah that's fine chose something else. I picked the shrimp diablo this time and it was bland and unexciting. Someone else went there from my work also today and promptly sent out a never go to fit eats email. Congrats your poor customer service and bad food has earned you one star. read more
