I usually prepare my own food prep but since Groupon was offering a deal I figured I'd try it out. I found the store to be very neat and well organized. The young gentlemen working there was helpful with giving me recommendations between my choices. So far I have only tried the turkey meatloaf which I found quit yummy! I took the package out of my fridge at work and peeled back the corner before giving it a gentle zap- smelled awesome. I took it out and peeled the plastic all the way back and... hm. Interesting... now I am a recovering carb-aholic and I can smell carbs from a mile away. Was it the cupcakes from a co-workers birthday? No- no it was the riced RICE that was in my dish when the package expressly said riced CAULIFLOWER. I took a bitty bite just to make sure and YUP THAT'S A GRAIN. Why would I pay you for something I can't eat? I was bummed. I carefully picked out the snap peas and the beef and had to toss the rest away. I can't believe that their chef doesn't know the difference between a grain and a vegetable. But worse- if I had ordered this because I couldn't have rice or was allergic or something there would be a huge problem. Pro-tip: advertise what you carry and sell what you advertise. Today I forgot my lunch and since I had been tracking macros I was worried I'd have to sacrifice progress picking up takeout, but I came across Fit Eats on DoorDash! Just a PSA: I ordered FitEats after a coworker brought hers to work and let me try it out. The food was great, unfortunately, customer service isn't so great. I placed my first order to be delivered on a monday. Showed up on monday, food wasn't there. I emailed customer service and was told, "We don't deliver to your address"(but they took my money without calling and telling me otherwise?). So I emailed them back and asked them to cancel my order because I can't get to the Kiefer Blvd. location before 3pm(I work til 5 every day). I was told that despite them accepting my money and not communicating that my order couldn't be delivered to the area code provided to them, that they were going to charge me a 25% restock fee for order cancellation. They offered me a second option: To pick up my food at the Roseville Location or the Downtown location, or have the 25% cancellation fee applied. So I chose the cancellation fee as both of those locations are 15+ miles out of my way. Moral of the story: call ahead if you're more than 15 minutes from any location and make sure they deliver to you so you don't get screwed. Huge bummer because I wanted to make this a regular part of my weekly meal planning. This is a family owned business that is still working out some kinks and I hope they figure it out because the idea they have is convenient and people love what they do. read more

Always check your food if you order Fit Eats weekly deliveries. I received this on July 20th, after ordering meals for the entire week. I thought at the very least the food would be good for the entire week on account of, they let you order a weeks worth of meals. However, I found this piece of tofu on July 21st, only one day after receiving my weekly meals, and it had a best by date of only 4 days into the week. Please check your food from this company, I caught this as I was getting ready to feed it to my CHILD. I've eaten tofu my entire adult life so I'm very familiar with bad tofu, with people who can't cook tofu, or properly store tofu, and I've never seen it this bad before. It was disgusting. I have a ring doorbell, I retrieved my meals as soon as they got to my front door and they weren't even cold. There was no chill whatsoever to any of my meals. Fit Eats is literally amazing. We get a few meals delivered each week. We've been either going in to the retail store or having meals delivered for years. It is the best. By Friday, I'm spent, so having healthy meals in the frig is literally the best. I eat foods by the point system, so having the points on the packing is ahmazing. I also love they deliver at night so I dont have to be home to get the delivery. I just wake up and bring the food in...no effort. By far the best part of it for me, is the price point. I believe for what they are selling/delivering to the customer, the price makes it affordable. Their delivery cost is nominal and the meals aren't any more than ordering a meal out (most likely less). Additionally, you don't have to prepare the meals. The meals are literally preps stacked in the fridges. They have meals in two sizes - regular and large. They're pretty pricey. The larges range from about $10-$12. I have not tried them, but the concept is cool. The meals are prepped with the idea of a balanced healthy diet. Each meal has a healthy amount of protein, vegetables and if applicable, some other stuff such as beans or dairy. They have some meals marked 30% off. Everyone who has wrote a bad review has unrealistic expectations or has never eaten in a healthy or low calorie way before. Probably the main reason they are upset is because they are grossly unhappy with themselves to begin with. With that being said I'm not sure what people are expecting from a 300 to 600 calorie meal? Your not going to be stuffed to the max with flavor explosions and 4 diamond portions. It is sad that people feel the need to bash businesses like this that are actually trying to help people. The food here is awesome, the size is good, and the labels are fairly accurate. You can easily have three well balanced meals from here for around 1800 calories or 5 meals for around 2500 calories. Delivery is good as well as I have never had an issue when ordering directly from their website. I heat 90% of these meals on the stove as I do not own a microwave and never had any of the heating issues others complain about. Their peanut butter cups are AMAZING and around 80 cals are a nice treat on days that allow a sweet treat! If you are busy on the go, or just want to eat better but don't have a clue what you are doing, spend your money here and its really hard to fail. Remember why you are trying to eat healthy, this food is at least 80 percent as good as food with 10X's the calories and that's something I cant say for any other meal prep service out there. Add in a zero calorie zero sugar drink like a Zevia here and there and you will be on track. All in all this is a really great service with good food and decent prices. Close to every other food choice , except this is the only one healthy, Togo, and always a good choice when you're hungry and want REAL QUALITY INGREDIENTS that won't add extra inches on the waist line. I was gifted a Groupon for $30 worth of product, I got 5 "meals" and paid an extra $20 over the $30, a little pricey to me since 2 of those dishes were also 30% off, but I wanted to give it a shot. The girl working when I went in on a Friday night was nice, felt a little rushed even though I still had over an hour before closing, but she was friendly enough! Food was just ok, everything I picked could have used some extra salt/flavor, and 4 of the 5 dishes really needed some sort of sauce/moisture to pull it together. The chicken ziti I got was a little sad portion wise, but everything else was decently sized. I did like that they had size options, so you can bump most things up to a large for a couple extra bucks if you're trying to feed more people. Also a fan of the delivery option so if you're too busy (or just lazy), you can have them bring it to you (free delivery over $25)! Overall, I get the convenience aspect, and if I were someone who did the full time meal prep/training kinda thing this probably would've worked better for me (from reading other reviews it seems to be popular for that exact thing). So if you are looking for a convenient and healthier option and are willing to spend a little extra, I recommend this place (the carne asada bowl was probably my favorite thing, so that especially!). Bummed to not love this place. First of all, the delivery times are nuts. Between midnight and 6 am... so if I bring my food in at 7 when I'm up it might have been out there for an hour or it might have been out there for 7 hours. They put it in an insulated bag but with just one skimpy ice pack on top, the meals on the bottom have been warm every time. I'm 99% sure I got sick from it yesterday. Ate the Turkey meatloaf with cheddar mashed potatoes and was spewing from both ends a few hours later. Now I have 3 meals left that I'm gonna toss. The carne asada bowl I had last week was disgusting and flavorless, the Turkey Mac n cheese casserole thing is awful too. The pad Thai shrimp last week was good but that's it. Also the employees don't care at all. I called last week to try to figure out what time my food had been delivered (I'm pregnant and nervous of food poisoning) and they were very lazy and careless and didn't care at all. They said they'll "try" to contact the delivery driver and they'd call me back. No one called me back. The meals are too expensive for small portions too.
