However, there were noticeable shortcuts in food preparation or plate composition that negatively impacted our enjoyment of the food. Dishes we had included: - Beef Chow Fun 濕炒牛河: $18; $19.60 with tax. The noodles were very soft, almost mushy. - Crispy Jumbo Shrimp with Mayonnaise 沙汁核桃蝦球: $30; $32.66 with tax. The shrimp were fresh, but the restaurant seemed to have boiled the shrimp before deep-frying them, so the shrimp tasted tough, not crisp. - Sweet and Sour Spareribs with Pineapple 鳳梨生炒排骨: $19; $20.69 with tax. After this, she doesn't come back to check in on us or ask for any refills on the soup and had to flag her down. Plates were slow to be cleared. Food - in the past we loved the fresh noodles here, but not anymore. Maybe it's due to less people, but the noodles are old and stay clumped up together. The concept is unique and first of its kind in NYC. Using an aluminum pan on top of a portable butane stove, the server cooks small plates of marinated proteins and vegetables in front of the patrons. All the meat arrives on small 6 inch plates about for less than $10 each. Great price to try a wide variety of foods. Mostly are different cuts of beef and the owner highly recommend their original marinade, which comes with red onions and cilantro. The other two options on the touch pad menu are "spicy/numbing" or "no cilantro." For the four of us, we ordered seven plates of meat, but they accidentally gave us one extra by mistake. For me personally, the winners were the Signature Short Plate, Marbled Beef Short Ribs, and Classic Prime Beef Ribs. For non-beef items, the Orleans Chicken Thigh and Chicken Wings were both quite delicious too. The only thing I would definitely not order again is the beef tongue because it gets tough and chewy. What is important to mention is that there are also many sides to cook along with the meats.
