Enjoyed a lovely dinner with out of town guests. The restaurant decor and view of the Alyssa added to the experience. First time trying the Shrimp Kisses and Blackened Shrimp Queso - could almost make a meal out of them! We enjoyed fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, stuffed flounder and mixed grill - no complaints!! Being a Landry club's member has its perks! We made reservations, and upon arrival were assigned a table immediately. The waiter staff were great, very accommodating. He offered the chef special, and my husband had no regrets. The food was fast on delivery and it was hot and fresh. Can't ask for more than that. I thought the spinach was fantastic. I would get that as a side for myself. The Shrimp kisses were absolutely delicious and very filling. I ate mine as the main course as it came with a side of onion rings. The parking validation was more than enough time to finish the meal with no rush-or extra fees. We didn't realize what we were missing, but we will back. read more

I'm in Galveston for the first time. Check Yelp. Best seafood in the area? Forget the recommendations from the hotel and the bartenders at the nearby bar - let's go with the 4-star place! This was NOT a good meal. We were told we needed to wait an hour on a Saturday night. Which means they don't really need to care about my review. We sat at the bar to have a cocktail while we waited, and the bar said it was a full-service bar so we could eat there. We cancelled our place in line and ordered our food. The char-grilled oysters were bad. Chewy to the point of being hard to eat - I chewed some like a dog chewing a piece of fat, and then threw them out. The breading on them fell apart with a tap from the fork. This should be a dish that's luxurious, with a goop that stays goop as I eat it - not a crust that dries up and falls apart. I have eaten char-grilled oysters in New Orleans - and this was a very sad approximation of them. The main dish (red snapper) was good, preventing this from being a 1-star review. The crab topper for an extra $9 (bringing the dish to over $48) was dry, despite being advertised as being bathed in lemon beurre blanc. They charged me $3 to upgrade from broccoli and cauliflower to their "famous" fried Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were pretty bad. They were full of stems. I make sprouts at home all the time - you trim the inedible parts of them and just serve the tender, edible parts of them. The chef here never got that message. I have pictures of half my sprouts being not-trimmed. It was a heck of a job spending time trimming them with the dull butter knife I had. The drinks we got at the bar were made correctly, tasty, and appropriate strength, so the bartenders also saved this from a 1-star review. There was a minor flood going on near the floor due to some kind of pipe leak. Maintenance here is not keeping up with a place that has a 1-hour wait on a weekend night. This is a tourist trap. DO NOT VISIT - there are 3-4 other places we had been suggested to visit, but Yelp unfortunately steered us wrong and I wouldn't return here when I return to lovely Galveston for a future vacation. read more

First time visiting Galveston from Seattle. That being said, my seafood radar was in full swing. Had a great Old Fashioned at the bar before we got a great seat out on the pier. Ended up getting the fish and chips we weren't disappointed. Everything came out fresh and hot! We also got some of the onion strings and jalapeños (not pictured) and they were a group hit! Our server was on top of everything and made sure that we had everything we needed and checked in on us multiple times. Birthday dinner with my lovely wife, and our first time in Galveston, after an awesome day I chose Fisherman's Wharf, and it was definitely a treat. You have the choice to be seated outside. We had the half dozen oysters for our appetizer, loved the clean fresh flavor, and we were served fresh warm rolls as we waited for entrees, I had the Fisherman's seafood platter, the grilled shrimp was great, plump and grilled perfectly, the flounder was moist and well seasoned. My wife had the steamed Lobster and this was steamed to perfection, really delicious. The ambience is relaxing, a sit and enjoy a great meal while taking in the scenery. Other than a short wait, our service was impeccable! We chose to sit indoors because it was warm outdoors. They sat us upstairs in a room overlooking the harbor and it was really nice. The food was delectable! I cannot say enough about my platter!! Definitely recommend! read more

This was our first time to try Fisherman's Wharf.  It was a bit less formal-looking inside than the other two places where we ate earlier in the week.  Both types of settings are desirable, but it was nice to have a bit more casual atmosphere at Fisherman's Wharf, since we had been out walking all day and weren't exactly spiffed up for a more formal place. The menu was good and food was well-prepared.  We had a great view of the water from our table.  But the best part was our server.  Alexander was the best possible combination of efficiency and professionalism along with warm friendliness.  We left, feeling as if he had become one of our friends.  That goes a long way in adding value for the customer.  Thanks, Alexander! read more

I stopped by here last night with my family for dinner. I had been out with the twins at the beach, and when I came back my wife said she wanted to order from Fisherman's Wharf. She pulled up a menu and placed the order by phone. When we arrived, I jumped out to get the food, which was ready and sitting at the corner of the bar. The inside of this place looked a little swankier than most of the restaurants I had been to in Galveston, and all three bartenders were super busy making drinks for the Friday night crowd. Eventually one came over to help me, and I was quickly on my way. For dinner that evening, I went with the fried flounder sandwich while both my wife and mother-in-law chose the lobster and crawfish pasta. My entrée was described as coming with lettuce, tomato, red onion, coleslaw, pickles, and tartar sauce, while my wife's was described as Maine lobster, crawfish tails, penne pasta, sweet lobster cream sauce, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese. The fish on my sandwich was fried nicely, and while I couldn't really tell what fish it was (can you ever, really?) it tasted good enough. The bun was toasted, and the coleslaw and tartar sauce added some nice flavors and moisture to the sandwich. The fries were well seasoned and tasted good, even if they were a little soggy by the time I got to them. Both my wife and mother-in-law enjoyed their pastas, and they both appreciated the amount of lobster. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. Our food was solid, though a bit on the expensive side, and while I'd certainly eat here again in the restaurant, I don't know that I'd do takeout again. read more

Tried leaving this review on 5/20 using the URL but it kept wanting me to download an app so this is a little late in coming. Lillian was our server. She was fun and very conscientious and made our experience delightful. She explained the menu and brought our dinners promptly. The salmon was a generous portion as was the red fish and was prepared perfectly. The lobster bisque was excellent as were the house salads. It was my birthday and Lillian brought an enormous complimentary sunday and sang happy birthday with another server. Being our first night and visit to Galveston it was a great start. I know service animals are supposed to be allowed in restaurants, but that's not always the case when he's 100lbs. I was meeting a group of family and friends at Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston, TX for dinner. Reaper and I walked into the restaurant and I asked where my group was and if Reaper, my service dog, would be OK. The staff member not only said yes he was, but took us to the table and told me to have the waiter get Reaper a bowl of water because of how warm it was. Reaper automatically laid down at my side and was given a bowl of ice water... actually it was more like 3. I can't eat much because of major stomach surgery, so my husband asked if they had ala carte. They added an extra piece of fish to my husband's fish and chips, and never charges us for it. To say three staff was phenomenal would be an understatement. Our group ended up leaving almost $200 in tips. Later during dinner, I noticed a little white fluff ball at another table. Talking with another patron, she had brought her Boston Terrier with her one time, and they seated her right away. Fisherman's Wharf is amazing and I will definitely go back!! read more

Most of the food was just okay. The clam chowder was really good though. The outdoor seating was pretty neat, you can see the water and the ships in the distance. The service was a bit sub par. Our server seemed like she rushed our order and got our drinks wrong. And both times the drinks came pretty slow. But could have been a 4th of July rush. The food and the local beer we got were pretty good. The front staff were really nice. We got our parking validated as we arrived. The outside space was really nice, it was pleasant to see some boats passing. Not too loud, just a right amount of noise to comfortably have a conversation. The service at the table left a lot to be desired though. Our server did not know her beers and then brought two tea based drinks instead of the beers we ordered (the names of the beverages were similar, but I wouldn't hurt to double check if in doubt). We had to ask another server for the correct drinks because we couldn't find our server. Overall not very attentive. We were not offered a dessert when we finished the entree, just the check. read more

Oh my. How disappointing tonight's dinner was. The only saving grace was our waitress, Andrea, who was exceptionally attentive. Shrimp cocktail had small shrimps, lobster bisque was broken (ie coddled, not smooth) and nearly every bit of crab was tasteless and had pieces of shell. The crab cake was more bread, onion and celery than crab. Def not lump crab. It was topped with more crab, which would have been ok but again filled with shells and no seasoning. The side of potatoes was so heavily seasoned and salted that it irritated my tongue! The snapper was properly cooked. The Elissa sauce was ok but again, the crab had shells and the artichoke hearts were chewy. If you must dine on the harbor, there are many better choices, including Willie G's next door. It's owned by Landry's as well, but they seem to execute much better. Despite a nice view and dog friendly patio, we won't be back. read more

My wife and I came to Fisherman's Wharf for a date night, and overall, it was a great experience! The location is perfect -- right by the water, with a nice view of the harbor and some big ships passing by. It gave the evening a relaxed, coastal vibe that we both really enjoyed. We started with the shrimp queso that was a definite win -- full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. For our mains, I had the fish, crab cake and shrimp kisses and my wife got the tenderloins, crab cake with brussel sprouts. Both dishes were fresh and well-cooked, and the sides were awesome. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We never felt rushed, which made the evening feel more personal and unrushed.
