was in the area and found this gem! Loved it so much. Ordered at the counter then food was brought to the table. You chose where you sit. The decor was so on "beach" theme. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. When we walked in i didn't know what to do and one of the servers (I wish I caught his name) was so helpful and showed us the menu and the daily specials and ask us if we have already gotten a table. The food was soooo good. The mozzarella sticks were thick and so cheesy. The chicken and burger were delicious and sat really easy on the stomach rather than sitting super heavy. Anyways really loved this place! Will be back soon! Thank you!

I stopped by here yesterday with my family for dinner. We didn't actually eat inside the restaurant but instead had beers across the street. Coastal Grill allows you to call in a to-go order and they'll deliver your food right over to you, which is awesome. My wife called in our order, and a short time later our food arrived. For dinner on this day I decided to go with the crawfish tail po' boy. It came served with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce on a toasted bun. When I opened my to-go container, I had to admit that it looked good. There was so much crawfish that it was constantly spilling out, and I ate a bunch that had escaped. The sandwich itself tasted great, with the crawfish lightly fried and the remoulade sauce adding a nice tang. I ended up finishing the whole thing and only wished there had been a little more sauce to balance out the bread. Our family's order also came with a large amount of onion straws. They were quite good, thinly sliced, nicely breaded, and still crispy. They would have been excellent with a little more salt, but since our table at the brewery didn't have any, that's just more reason to eat inside the restaurant next time. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My whole family enjoyed our meal, and those onion straws especially had great potential.

The food and service were perfect. Great customer service and my brisket burger was the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!

Sounds (Coastal Grill) and feels (wooden, ship-like interior) like a seafood place but they have a diverse menu, to include kabobs, gyros, and burgers. Everyone's (about 15 of us) food looked great and I loved my snapper tacos with sweet potato fries. The guys working were all very friendly and checked up on us, but didn't rush us. You order at the front but they bring the food to you. Nice drink selection too. I definitely recommend this place!

I'd heard many good things and was excited to try this place, but likely will not be back. It's cute inside, a cozy nautical vibe to it. You order cafeteria style and they bring your food/drinks to the table. The drinks- just looking at the cocktail menu was not a good start, then seeing what a couple others got further disappointed. I went with a cosmo thinking that was simple enough and it was just okay. Not bad, not great. Super basic options. The food- actually all really delicious but I thought the tuna stack and mushrooms were a bit overpriced. The fish taco was a good deal though; I expected street taco size and it's bigger than that. I didn't try the scallops but took a photo and was told they were excellent. We also had the chips and hummus plate. That was tasty as well. All in all, an enjoyable evening but not up to par with what I prefer on several levels. If you just want some seafood to-go, this would be a good place for that.

I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was. Wowzers!! A pretty readable menu and including vegan options with huge portions. Grilled vegetables: tomatoes, onions, squash, zucchini, potatoes, paired on a bed of white rice covered in some garlic sauce. It cannot get anything better than that! Absolutely delicious and fulfilling. The service was great; the staff are so good looking and attractive which goes well with good delicious food. Nice clean restaurant and the atmosphere was welcoming too. 10 out of 10; a win win in my book!

I really enjoy the Mediterranean dishes here and have dined in person previously. This time, we ordered takeout from coastal grill and food still arrived hot! Fries were crispy and flavorful and the kebab did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the flavor of the sweet potato puree and only wished the dish came with more! Beef and veggies were also very tender and not overcooked. There are a lot of menu options at coastal grill at affordable prices and they're a great choice for a large group with different tastes.

Surf and Turf-very tender and wonderfully seasoned. 6/24

We came here twice on our recent Galveston trip! Needless to say the food was excellent both times! I know there are alot of wonderful food choices in Galveston, but the quality of food for the price was worth it and above some of the others we tried. The concept here is very simple. Walk indoors (wheelchair and stroller friendly) and place your order at the counter. You can order everything at once or you can be like us and order drinks w/apps while you ponder the menu. Tip: I recommend you take a picture of the specials menu before you seat yourself. Theres some amazing options! Truly high quality. My son had the grilled shrimp and they were some of the best shrimp Ive had. If you love shrimp, I highly recommend that one. It's a blessing to get fresh Gulf Shrimp! Service is wonderful too!

I recently spent 5 days in the Houston/Galveston area. The food for the most part was a positive experience. For our last evening in Galveston we chose the Coastal Grill for dinner; this was by far our best meal during our entire trip! The setting is very casual but you are warmly greeted after entering, then seated at your table and given menus. Once you've made your selection, you return back to the front of the restaurant to place your order and your food is brought to your table. The menu offers plenty of options, they have a full bar, and the desserts looked amazing! I'm not sure about parking as we arrived by ride share. Our entrees of choice were: the coastal shrimp platter which was on special and the mahi-mahi....both DELICIOUS! Ever morsel was perfect, flavorful, fresh, and left you wanting the next bite! Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area!

Six star rating in my book !! I think this is now one of my favorites on the island. Came for a late lunch on a Saturday after museum touring. WOWZA, food was sooo good! We had Chicken and Beef Kabob plates - presentation and flavor was amazing. Chicken was so soft and juicy. Beef cooked to perfection! Service was excellent and place is very clean. Lots of menu options. Highly recommend if you want a satisfying meal .

I wasn't a fan of the vanilla latte, as it was much too sweet for my taste, and the regular coffee was just okay--it lacked the bold flavor or kick I was hoping for. Others at my table ordered the steak and eggs and the migas, and both cleaned their plates, which is always a good sign. Our waiter was decent, but my experience went downhill after I ordered the shrimp scampi. I specifically asked for no mushrooms, tomatoes, or spinach. When my meal arrived, it had extra mushrooms. I let the waiter know, and he apologized and had it remade. What disappointed me was that there was no effort to make up for the mistake. In many restaurants, when an order is incorrect and a customer has to wait while everyone else at the table is already eating, the staff will try to accommodate the inconvenience in some way. Instead, when my food finally came back, the shrimp was cold. At that point, I didn't complain again--I just ate a few bites. Afterward, we waited another 20-30 minutes for our check. When the waiter brought the card reader so I could pay, my daughter accidentally dropped one of her AirPods. While I was trying to help her pick it up and tap my card to pay, the waiter said, "Ma'am, please be careful with the machine. If anything happens to it, I have to replace it." I found that comment unnecessary and unprofessional, especially since I was simply helping my daughter while paying. Overall, the experience did not live up to the recommendations I received. Between the incorrect order, the long waits, the cold replacement meal, and the interaction at checkout, I left disappointed. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. The food really is the highlight. Raw oysters come out cold and clean, the kind that make you stop for a second because they're that fresh. The prime rib is carved to order and surprisingly tender for a buffet line, with that slow‑roasted richness you hope for but don't always get. The omelette station turns out made‑to‑order plates with plenty of fillings and cooks who actually pay attention to what you asked for. And the chicken and waffles -- hot off the iron, crisp, sweet, and genuinely satisfying -- are worth the wait every time. Then there's the dessert room. Not a dessert table, not a dessert corner -- a full room dedicated entirely to pastries, cakes, mousses, tarts, and confections. It's theatrical in the best way, and it's one of the reasons the brunch has always felt like a special‑occasion splurge. But the disconnect comes from something the hotel itself emphasizes. On the brunch reservation page, the dress expectations are printed clearly and prominently -- essentially no shorts, no swimwear, no hats, and gentlemen should be in collared shirts or similar attire. It reads like a firm standard meant to preserve the elegance of the dining room. Despite that, we saw plenty of guests in beach shorts, cutoffs, t‑shirts, baseball caps, and even a someone with a chain running from a facial piercing to one of the studs on their shredded jeans. No judgment toward anyone's personal style, but it's noticeably at odds with what the hotel says it requires. For a brunch that runs close to $100 per person, in a historic hotel that prides itself on refinement, it's hard not to feel the mismatch. The staff seems more focused on getting bodies through the door than maintaining the ambiance they themselves advertise. It doesn't ruin the food -- the food is excellent -- but it does sour the overall experience enough that, even after enjoying it on several special occasions, it's no longer something we plan to keep in our rotation.
