We decided to try Cajun Greek because we were craving catfish, and the reviews sounded too good to pass up. They definitely delivered, the quality matched everything we read in other reviews. Our server, Abraham, was friendly, welcoming, and informative, which made the experience even better. We ordered the fried flounder, the gyro with catfish, and a kids' catfish meal. Everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful, well worth the visit. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

This was a review of my visit earlier this month on July 4th weekend. I was with my family to celebrate the weekend and day off from work. We were around the area and tried to think of where to eat. After a couple of minutes of searching, I decided to pick Cajun Greek. Cajun Greek is located on a fairly busy area and parking is available in the front but also in the back. Walking in the restaurant is very nice. It gave me a nice local vibe and a sense of a homey feel to it. The menu is a nice mix of items: seafood and Mediterranean dishes. I went against my personal rule of sticking to the seafood at seafood restaurants and picked the beef shawarma. The shawarma is on this nice pita, nicely loaded up with beef, the fries are seasoned and crispy, and the sauce on the side is this nice mustard based flavor that went well with everything plus the side banana peppers/olives. Overall I enjoyed the choice of picking Cajun Greek. The food is good, service was nice plus our server was very attentive checking in on us often and it was solid. There are a nice amount of options on the menu to choose from and the prices are very fair. Not anything to complain about but I know others may not like the banana peppers or olives but I think it went well with the shawarma. The shawarma will also have the sauce included inside the pita. I would like to come back again for another visit and this time go with the seafood options.

Cajun Greek in Galveston, Texas is a must-visit! We tried their Big Bowl Boil, which comes loaded with fresh seafood and snapper, and it was absolutely amazing. Every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and the portions were generous. The experience was so good that we had to come back for more. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal, this place won't disappoint!

Great place no frills, casual, great food! This is our old stomping ground had not been in a while! Service is always outstanding here we sit at the bar, we got there at 3:00pm just in time for the winter happy hour. 3-6pm. I had the crab bisque, my companion had the gumbo, we shared their delicious Boudin ball's and the feta tzatziki plate. Our friends shared a big delicious crab cake. Great time to visit to try their holiday drink specials. Everything was fantastic and of course we will be back!

Great, casual place that is on every Best of Gavelston list and deservedly so. Like others, I compared this with Katie's, which I had a few days ago and I liked Cajun Greek much, much more. The peel and eat shrimp was delicious. Surprisingly, the ribeye steak, I thought was a great value! Perfectly cooked. The gulf shrimps and hush puppies were excellent as well. The one negative is that their wine list is not good at all (all cheap wines) and there's no BYOB. Service was friendly.

Sat at bar and was quickly greeted. Ordered crab bisque as an appetizer, iIt was good. For main course, had the beef schwarma, it was good as well. Menu had many options to choose from. On the short list when in town.

This place was recommended by a local while on vacation and the food was absolutely amazing! I had the Greek tzatziki plate and the peel off spicy shrimp that were cooked in a lovely spicy creamy sauce! I would highly recommend to go to this place and I would definitely return! The bartender was also super friendly and accommodating!

Love coming to this place! Our first stop every time we are in Galveston. Great food. Pleasant ambiance, quiet enough to have a conversation but music is loud enough to still enjoy it.

Stopped in for a quick bite while on the island. Ordered the tzatziki plate, so delicious! Tzatziki sauce smooth, perfect....olives, tomatoes and pita bread. Yum! Chicken pita and fries, very good...chicken and pita were hot a fresh. Fries are very tasty! Shrimp poboy was good, it was served with fries. Kids pizza and fries not small at all...no complaint from the small squad! Had to get a side of hush puppies & tartar...did not disappoint. Service was good, ambiance is casual very laid back...bar if that's something you want to do. Family friendly I would say. Overall food is good, but it is pricey...similar to prices at higher end restaurants like Fisherman's Wharf & Katie's which wasn't expected as it's not on seawall or strand. We will be back to try some other dishes.

Custom seafood plate prepared to our tastes

My family of five ended up here after a day of fun shopping at The Strand. We thought we were going to eat at Gaido's, but they only do reservations and we hadn't realized that. So we needed another choice. Cajun Greek came up and we gave it a try on Christmas Eve. It was a great choice. We sat down quickly in the evening and started with festive drinks, oysters on the half shell and hot bisque. All amazing choices. We had the server pick us out a large plate of seafood for five. Everything was well presented, prepared correctly and delicious. The kitchen was definitely serving Christmas Eve Love. Both the food and service were wonderful. We will definitely return and enjoy more of the menu another time. A+

Absolutely fell hook, line and sinker for this tourist trap based on all the good reviews…read more Honestly, these positive reviews must've been written by tourists suffering from sunstroke or those who think Long John Silver's is fine dining. The staff acted irritated from the moment we walked in, the beer ordered wasn't cold, and the gin drink tasted like somebody rinsed a pine tree with sugar water and charged $14 for it. Then came the food. Somehow they created a salad with absolutely no flavor, which honestly deserves research funding. The broiled seafood platter we ordered looked like it had hit the kitchen floor and got plated anyway. Bland fish, rubber shrimp with the texture of hot erasers, and that poor crab died in vain for that disaster. The vegetables had been steamed to within an inch of their lives, then apparently bullied the rest of the way. Lastly, the shrimp frogs that were supposed to come with the platter must've hopped away before the plate made it to the table. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place like it owes you money.

That being said, it had been some time since I've gotten some proper fish-n-chips. I had to remedy that. Especially since the BBQ fiasco the other day, I was going to go on a hunger strike, but once I made the sign, I got potato chip fingers on it and started to eat it. So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and figured I would eat myself happy again. Which I'm never mad about. Sometimes I make myself angry just so I can eat myself happy. And now, the rest of the story. I have learned that I enjoy Cod fish for my fish-n-chips. And I think also Haddock. I am not a fisher nor a fish. So it's hard for me to say. But I know Cod is one for sure. I also sometimes have baby mouth and am afraid of new things. I do know I love my fish battered and deep fried. I also know that Shark Shack had good reviews for their fish, so, that was all I needed to hear. Plus, it was a perfect little eatery with bar seating, table seating, and gifts! So you can bet your bottom dollar tomorrow I ordered the English fish-n-chips. Boy oh boy. Just like how Britain colonized all those countries back when it was the cool thing to do, these fish and chips colonized my taste buds. Respectfully. This plate came with FIVE logs of fish. FIVE! Maybe they were tubes of fish? Honestly, I don't care what shape they came in, they looked perfectly crunchy and perfectly brown and perfectly fish. The super cool extra bonus? These fish came with CRISPIES! I've only ever seen crisps with fish from Long John Silvers, whose fish is probably as far from Cod or Haddock as legally possible. I actually think one of my pieces of fish from there had shoelaces. Didn't matter. Still ate it. Respectfully. (If you aren't privileged enough to know what fish crispies are, there little batter pieces that fry or fall off the fish as they cook. Basically little crumblies. If you make a wish over a fork of them and get the forkful in your mouth without dropping any, your wish will come true). Homemade tartar sauce was good, but there was a certain flavor profile that I wasn't a fan of. It was still good to use on the fish rods, it just tasted a little too much out of the tartar sauce field for me. The meal was wrapped up nice and tight with lovely square-cut fries. Perfect doneness. Perfect Ketchup vessel. I could just stare at a pile of them all night. Mostly because I'm weird. I decided to lean more toward the 4-star side, so here we are. While in Galveston for a quick weekend getaway, we wanted to go out for dinner. Katie's was my first choice, but the wait was too long, so I pulled up Yelp to see what else was recommended. Shark Shack had great reviews, and when we arrived there was zero wait, so we went for it. The one area where I docked a star was the service. We were seated immediately but waited quite a while for our server to appear, and then even longer to get our drinks. I was so excited for a margarita, but when it arrived in a plastic cup, I was immediately disappointed. Plastic cups are for the beach and nightclubs, not a restaurant with a bar. And that's not where the awful drink experience ended -- it was so weak and just not good at all. Our server seemed so disinterested in everything: taking our order, answering questions, and when it came time to pay, we had to wait ages to see him and wave him down. The food was decent with no major complaints. It wasn't "blow your mind" amazing, but it was good. The owner -- well, I assume he was the owner -- came and spoke to us when he found out my husband was military, and he was really nice, friendly, and very supportive of the military community, offering a very generous military discount. That definitely raises the rating and is much appreciated, so thank you. Overall, the big fixes for me would be the service and the drink situation. I can't say we would rush to come back just because we love Katie's for the service, food, and drinks..
