First, everything was made fresh and nice and hot coming from the kitchen. The service is top notch, they treated us like family members being served some home cooked love. Definitely worth a try in this down to earth shop, hand written signs show the adoration for the food and people. Plus the menu is extensive with Cajun staples with prices that are criminally low, you can just get more options to savor.

Beautiful crawfish boudin out of the air fryer.

I absolutely love this place, however, I was soooooo disappointed when I got home and found my $11 bowl of gumbo was a bowl full of rice!!! :( most places will give you your rice on the side but no, the cup was full of rice so there was barely any gumbo inside. The crawfish boudin was excellent in the air fryer!!! Always a favorite for us. However, we will not ever repeat the gumbo.

This place opened in 1991, the current building in 2009, Leo's has firmly established itself as a bonafide classic food joint. It may be on Broadway, but it has the feel of a quiet neighborhood corner joint. The customers all seemed like regulars. No tourists here! Service was kind and quick. Order at the counter. The food was a mistake a mix of prepared foods under heat lamps or in a steamer, or freshly fried dishes. I opted for the fried shrimp plate - 10 shrimp for $16.99. I expected them to be under a heat lamp but they were fried fresh and it didn't take long for them to bring me my plate - fresh and hot. The shrimp was nice and crispy and deceptively spicy! How I've missed this place I have no idea. They also process meats here and have a display case to the right of the counter containing boudin, sausages, jerky, and various other items. This place is the real deal. I'll be back.

While they aren't the most authentic, the shrimp poboys here are pretty good for the area and price point. The coleslaw is surprisingly a nice addition to the sandwich. I choose Leo's over most places in Galveston whenever I want a poboy.

Solid 3 everything was really lack luster. The customer was great! Really nice people working here that's for sure. Good: we got a mix of things here. Sausage sandwich, boudain balls, fried shrimp, and gumbo. Oh the cupcake was probably the best along with the gumbo. Everything was heated up and very lack luster. I will give them this though, the gumbo was pretty good. I got chicken and sausage. Everything else was very subpar. The cupcake was great! The customer service is really good? Really nice e people working here. I probably won't be back but maybe you will like their food better than I did. Everyone's tastes buds are different.

    Boudin Balls were simply AMAZING.

No frills or bells and whistles... just AMAZING food Yelpers. My coworker recommended LCC and boy was Mikey right. Leo's serves the best Cajun food in Texas. I tried a little bit of everything as you can see by the pics I took while I devoured my food. The lady at the counter was helpful and friendly. The boudin balls were delicious and the ribs were very tasty as well. I have placed Leo's on my 5 Star Platinum List of places you must try when in the Galveston area. So let be written... So let it be EATEN!!

Amazing Service!!! Very clean, organized both in the eating area and behind the register! Sweet people and amazing food, the best friend catfish, oysters, and Etouffe.

Order at the counter and pick a table. This is our first time. We had the catfish supreme tray (fried catfish covered in etouffe) very very very good. And the crab cakes were delicious also (and large). This is enough for two people., if you are not so hungry. We came before any rush so it's quiet. We will be back.

Authentic and time tested fare. This is NOT a trendy venture by an up and coming chef. This is what such a chef seeks to emulate and fold into "new" ideas.' No, this the real deal common man's fare that only a regional restaurant in a port city can pull off for over 3 decades. This is the mom and pop place that is still doing things the right way. Using Cajun spices, smoke and good quality ingredients to make its food the staff makes like a Cajun mama would. Their potato salad is the most mustardy potato salad that ever mustard. I'm not a spice lover but I can recognize this is good Cajun food.

Great Place and Good Food…read more My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Katie's Seafood House the evening before a cruise, and everything was great. When we arrived, there was about a 30-minute wait for a table in the main dining room, so we just grabbed the first available table in the bar area. Th server immediately noticed our presence, and came over, introduced herself and took our drink order. We shared the Crab Stuffed Shrimp for $34.00 which included 4 jumbo shrimps stuffed with crabmeat Rockefeller stuffing of spinach and baked in a white wine mushroom butter sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes. We also shared the Fried Texas Gulf Shrimp Dinner for $17.00 which included 8 jumbo shrimps, and served with fries, cole slaw, and jalapeno hush puppies. Both dishes were very good and enough for sharing. Everything was fresh, cooked to order, had good seasoning and flavor, and tasted very good. I wish the cole slaw portion was larger than a small 20 oz souffle cup and there were more than two hush puppies. Considering the number of guests in the crowed restaurant, the service was fast and friendly. After ordering, our food was served hot and fresh within 20 minutes of ordering. Our waiter forgot several things throughout the meal, and we had to get up and go to the bar ourselves multiple times just to get drinks. At one point I stepped away to take a phone call and saw our waiter sitting at another table with guests while we were still waiting on items we had already asked for, which was frustrating. We brought our concerns to management, but there really wasn't much of a response. It's disappointing because the kitchen did a great job, but the service and lack of accountability took away from what should have been a great experience.

That being said, it had been some time since I've gotten some proper fish-n-chips. I had to remedy that. Especially since the BBQ fiasco the other day, I was going to go on a hunger strike, but once I made the sign, I got potato chip fingers on it and started to eat it. So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and figured I would eat myself happy again. Which I'm never mad about. Sometimes I make myself angry just so I can eat myself happy. And now, the rest of the story. I have learned that I enjoy Cod fish for my fish-n-chips. And I think also Haddock. I am not a fisher nor a fish. So it's hard for me to say. But I know Cod is one for sure. I also sometimes have baby mouth and am afraid of new things. I do know I love my fish battered and deep fried. I also know that Shark Shack had good reviews for their fish, so, that was all I needed to hear. Plus, it was a perfect little eatery with bar seating, table seating, and gifts! So you can bet your bottom dollar tomorrow I ordered the English fish-n-chips. Boy oh boy. Just like how Britain colonized all those countries back when it was the cool thing to do, these fish and chips colonized my taste buds. Respectfully. This plate came with FIVE logs of fish. FIVE! Maybe they were tubes of fish? Honestly, I don't care what shape they came in, they looked perfectly crunchy and perfectly brown and perfectly fish. The super cool extra bonus? These fish came with CRISPIES! I've only ever seen crisps with fish from Long John Silvers, whose fish is probably as far from Cod or Haddock as legally possible. I actually think one of my pieces of fish from there had shoelaces. Didn't matter. Still ate it. Respectfully. (If you aren't privileged enough to know what fish crispies are, there little batter pieces that fry or fall off the fish as they cook. Basically little crumblies. If you make a wish over a fork of them and get the forkful in your mouth without dropping any, your wish will come true). Homemade tartar sauce was good, but there was a certain flavor profile that I wasn't a fan of. It was still good to use on the fish rods, it just tasted a little too much out of the tartar sauce field for me. The meal was wrapped up nice and tight with lovely square-cut fries. Perfect doneness. Perfect Ketchup vessel. I could just stare at a pile of them all night. Mostly because I'm weird. I decided to lean more toward the 4-star side, so here we are. While in Galveston for a quick weekend getaway, we wanted to go out for dinner. Katie's was my first choice, but the wait was too long, so I pulled up Yelp to see what else was recommended. Shark Shack had great reviews, and when we arrived there was zero wait, so we went for it. The one area where I docked a star was the service. We were seated immediately but waited quite a while for our server to appear, and then even longer to get our drinks. I was so excited for a margarita, but when it arrived in a plastic cup, I was immediately disappointed. Plastic cups are for the beach and nightclubs, not a restaurant with a bar. And that's not where the awful drink experience ended -- it was so weak and just not good at all. Our server seemed so disinterested in everything: taking our order, answering questions, and when it came time to pay, we had to wait ages to see him and wave him down. The food was decent with no major complaints. It wasn't "blow your mind" amazing, but it was good. The owner -- well, I assume he was the owner -- came and spoke to us when he found out my husband was military, and he was really nice, friendly, and very supportive of the military community, offering a very generous military discount. That definitely raises the rating and is much appreciated, so thank you. Overall, the big fixes for me would be the service and the drink situation. I can't say we would rush to come back just because we love Katie's for the service, food, and drinks..

The wait staff was super friendly, and very attentive. I liked the fact that there were appetizer options that you could as a half order, as many times the appetizers are so large that once you're finished, you have no room for your meal. We decided on a half order of the hush puppies. They came out hot, crispy, and so delicious! For our meals, I got the fried shrimp, and my boyfriend got the fish and chips. Both of us enjoyed our meals, but I have to give a special shout out to my side of mac & cheese. This can be iffy at most restaurants, as you never know if it's going to be dry from being under a warming oven in the kitchen. This was probably the best side of mac & cheese I've ever gotten in any restaurant! It was moist and delicious!! The parking lot at Miller's isn't large, but we were lucky to get a spot. Husband and I had the lump crab Benedict with scalloped potatoes, which turned out to be large chunks of potato with melted cheese on top and mushy cakes with no seasoning. The Gouda grits were just plain grits with a slice of cheese laid on top--very underwhelming. The house-made sangria was subpar, though I did enjoy the fruit chunks.
