My family came for dinner here in a Friday. This eatery is a no frills, order at the counter place. My Son absolutely demolished his pho and said it was great. Daughter ordered a small chicken fried rice and I was so astonished at the quantity, I could only ask in wonderment what the big size looked like. Everything is bigger in Texas, as they say! My vermicelli bowl with pork was delicious and I was impressed at the massive size, definitely worth sharing. My husband's gumbo bowl was delicious and huge, and he could only finish half his grilled pork banh mi which was very filling. This place is a great value for all the food that is provided and it is tasty too. We all left happy and full with a couple of take out boxes.

The food is delicious!!! We pass this place so many times when we vacation in Galveston and we finally stopped by. My entire family loved the food. Everyone that worked there was so nice. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in town!

We really loved our fish. It was very yummy and smooth. I love the texture and the taste (6 of 10). The fries definitely needed some additional seasoning, but it was fresh. The shrimp was a little overcooked with no seasoning! My biggest Takeaway is I would come back here again, BUT please stop sweeping while I'm eating. It is so rude to sweep where people are eating. I don't know how else to say it but that!!!!!

Located in a small strip center, I was a little wary because it wasn't super clean. Dirty glass, floor and tables did not overrule the wonderful Smells coming from the kitchen. We ordered a variety of dishes including fried fish&shrimp, snow crab clusters, Bahn Mi sandwich, and crab cakes. Everything was good food wise but the plastic cutlery was cheap, the drinks came in cans, and the service was bring a plate when it's done. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes for the three orders of snow crab clusters meaning everyone was done eating 15 minutes BEFORE they got their order. Management did come three times to tell us it will only be a minute, 10 minutes apart. While the food was good, we will not be back.

Stopped by for lunch because my parents have fond memories of food from here when we ordered it to eat at our condo during our visit to Galveston several summers ago. On this in-person visit, the food was just ok, nothing special. We ordered fried catfish and shrimp, with fries and fried rice. The batter was light but had no flavor so I had to use lots of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I saw several diners eat the Vietnamese Rice plates and maybe that's what I should have ordered. The restaurant is not as clean as I'd like. The floor is sticky causing your shoes to make noise when you walk. Be aware that there's only one restroom.

So IMTexas 70.3 relay weekend all about keeping up carbs before race. Day decided mix it up so found Viet Cajun near air BnB. It lot like Yamamoto had no idea the food be more less Vietnamese food in Texas. I was surprise but the Pork Banh Mi. Pretty good. Nothing as legit as the ones get in Vegas. In Galveston definitely hit the right spot. The bread was solid, hearty, and sandwich order again. I got it take out. The restaurant inside has decent amount of seats. U go up counter order then pick up food. It kind of food court style find spot sit down. The staff interacted with friendly and nice. If in Galveston. Viet Cajun would recommend.

The best fried fish I have ever had! Not sure what their seasonings are but it's laced with Cocain. All the seafood was great. The fried rice is also amazing. We also had the cheesecake egg-rolls for dessert and ONG! Fabulous!

I was beyond amazed at this little restaurant. My partner and I came in after stopping at the gas station in the same parking lot. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. The menu was expansive and truly had something for everyone. We ordered a pho to share and a pork banh mi. The food truly exceeded our expectations. I was particularly pleased with the banh mi. It was a very generous serving and perfectly seasoned. We were even fortunate enough to enjoy our food while the restaurant played Cars 2 on the tv in the dining room. We will definitely be coming back to Viet Cajun!

Located in a strip mall, this was one of the few dining locations within walking distance of the hotel we were staying at. No frills seafood boil place that also serves several Vietnamese dishes including pho. Ambiance is casual - You order and pay at the counter, then are seated and your meal is brought to you. Ordered a variety of items, including pho, shrimp vermicelli, shrimp fried rice, fried seafood combo (fried shrimp, oyster and fish) that came with choice of fries or fried rice, and gumbo. Only gumbo is pictured, as we were hangry and devoured our food. Pricing was reasonable and spent about $80, easily feeding 5 people.

I am so happy my sister showed me this place. 10/10 soo delicious and flavorful with reasonable prices. Wow. Both of one my favorite types of food together in harmony. Boudain balls were packed with flavor and delicious fresh. They do not skimp on anything. Their Banh Mi was stuffed with delicious pork that was so flavorful and a great compliment to the pickled carrot and the fresh bun. Wow. GO HERE if in Galveston. Service was so sweet. Very popular so make sure to get there asap. :)

Fried basket with fried rice, 3 fried fish, 6 fried shrimp, and 6 fried oysters.

I usually come here for their crawfish. The best FRIED RICE I have tasted. Felt like my father was in the kitchen cooking. I don't know what sort of breading or batter they use. It tasted like cornmeal and it is wonderful. Shrimp, oysters, fried fish came out golden crispy like I like.!!!

The fact that this is literally on a pier so the views of the ocean and the beach are just incredible. We were eating at sunset so it made the view even better. The waiter could've been a little more attentive. We had to ask for refills, but they were a little busy so I understood. We got there at the best time because after we arrived they started to have a wait for tables. The food was served very quickly. The restaurant has a really fun vibe. I would recommend it.

The salad was wilted. It's clear they make them earlier and leave them laying about. The fish was squishy. It tasted good, oddly given how squishy it was, but the texture was just not pleasant. The chips, French fries, were sad. It was a bed of those kind of breaded french fries but they too weren't fresh. The server was nice, but it took forever for the food. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the ambiance. On a reasonably cool breezy evening, it's a nice view of the beach.

Our lunch was absolutely delicious. Here's the rundown: 1 appetizer of ahi tuna won-ton, 2 raw oyster samplers, 2 Galveston Island Brewing blondes, 1 dirty gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and one to-go bottle of Cat Five hot sauce. I am not a huge fan of tuna, but this ahi/poke style of tuna with actual umami flavor elevates a mild sushi gateway fish to something yummy. The oysters were a delight. Shucks has a color coded system in place to help you identify which oysters are which, but my tired old eyes can't seem to make their system work. I did have two favorite kinds but could not tell you what they were. No matter, they were all superior - and small like east coast/ Canadian bivalves are. Dan's beer was tasty and swillable and my martini was appropriately dirty. We got the hot sauce because you can never have enough condiments and cats were referenced in its name. Our server was friendly and efficient. Interesting to me, I was mildly making fun of their music selection and soon after it changed. Coincidence? Dunno, but I appreciated the change to Motown! Bottom line. So, so enjoyable and something we don't do too often these days. It was an expensive meal, but worth the splurge.

Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions.
