So we came to Galveston from Memorial Day weekend and I found this coffee spot next-door and found this breakfast spot that had such good options on the menu and they were so different very filling menu It was a Sunday morning and they were super packed, but efficient in their dining experiences. I took mine to go and it took about 20 minutes to get it ready. I just ordered the chicken sandwich that was filled with fried chicken, fried egg, gravy, cheese and a biscuit on top and oh my gosh, it was so filling and divine. It came with a side of round hashbrowns. Everything was so good. This was huge, so I shared it with my mom. The staff was very efficient and sweet. The outside seating is so cute. I've had my eyes on this bistro for some time now. Glad my husband decided to stop in for some breakfast. It's cute and quaint and has great lighting. Makes the place feel open and breezy. There's patio seating out back with a beautiful view of the lake. Place your order at the counter and you'll be given a number to take to any table of your choice. It's a great place to sit with your laptop and get some work done or with a group of friends to grab a bite to eat. They have a delicious frozen rosé drink called, Frozé, you have to try it. They also offer beer by the bottle and wine. To eat I ordered the Evia Omelette and instead of the toasted sourdough bread I exchanged it for their Honey Butter Biscuit. We had a great experience! They offer both brunch and lunch, so there are plenty of options to choose from. We ordered the breakfast tacos and the Korean BBQ sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was one of our favorite parts. My only issue is that you order at the front and then get your own drinks. We ordered brunch foods for the most part. Chicken and waffles were flavorful, the chicken was tender and crispy and the sugar crystals in the waffle really made it! We also ordered the salmon Benedict, my only change was from fish to ham, but it was so flavorful, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the hash brown rounds had a good flavor. I was pleasantly surprised because it is hard to find a good eggs Benedict. We ordered the parm truffle fries for the table and they were to die for. The aioli was on point! We did order a side of pancakes but we could have done with out. They were fine but not memorable. My son and I would definitely come back and bring our friends. read more

Stopped in at Basin Bistro for brunch and it did not disappoint. We ordered two Evio Classics -- one with scrambled eggs and sausage, and the other with bacon and two over-easy eggs. Both plates came with a biscuit and tater tots, which honestly stole the show. The tots were perfectly crispy and buttered so well, and the biscuit was warm and flavorful. We also shared a short stack of pancakes, which definitely satisfied the sweet tooth -- fluffy, delicious, and a great addition to the meal. Everything we had was excellent, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and since it was such a beautiful day, we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine with our food. Those crispy rounds!!! We went to Sugar & Bean to get coffee and ended up at the Bistro. We got the chicken biscuits. They were huge! My daughter and I shared. The hubby got the tacos. Just place an order with the welcoming lady at the counter, serve yourself some coffee at the coffee bar and take it out to the beautiful seating areas along the basin. (Indoor seating is also available.). The large pork enchilada topped with a delicious green salsa and an egg cooked to your preference was a hit! The new Basin Bistro occupies the space in Evia once held by Lil Buffalo Grille. The interior updates of gentle creams and blues are gorgeous. The lunch menu has many great sounding dishes. For my first visit today, I opted for the Crispy Chicken Bowl- white rice topped with chilled street corn, slaw, blistered cherry tomatoes, cheddar cheese and cut up chicken strips. Served with jalapeño ranch. It was delicious! The flavors went together nicely, and the jalapeño ranch added just the right kick. My companion had a Grains & Things salad and added chicken. She was impressed by the portion size and the delightful mixture of greens, vegetables, and farro. The sweet tea is outstanding! Basin Bistro if located on the Main Street of a Galveston suburb. The shops on both sides of the store were what drew us into the neighborhood. And the delicate food aroma go us into the Basin Bistro. The bistro was packed but the staff was up to the challenge, taking food orders and serving our breakfast order quickly. Basin bistro is a great place to have lunch. It has the most beautiful setting and the food was amazing. We ordered the Korean BBQ cauliflower for an appetizer which was delicious! Between the four of us we ordered a Caesar salad (incredible) a club sandwich with fries, breakfast enchiladas and fish tacos. Everything we ordered was Great!! We will definitely be back! What a hidden gem. Our family visited for breakfast back when the Buffalo Grille occupied this space but we love the area so much we had to check the Basin Bistro out. So glad we did. Dog friendly outdoor area, delicious food, and friendly staff...they even gave us a plastic bowl to fix our dog her own water. My daughter and I shared the truffle fries and the chicken caprese sandwich. It all tasted so fresh and the flavors were excellent. We chose the street corn as our side and it was a bit onion heavy for our taste but still good. We will definitely return next time we are in the area! read more

This is the new restaurant in the spot of Evias Buffalo Grill. It's revamp and ready for customers. Buffalo Grill was a favorite out of the way spot, loved the blue plate specials so Basin Bistro had a bit to live up to. First I came for lunch and the menu is limited. The Evia neighborhood was a recommended stop during our visit to Galveston. We found the neighborhood quiet but nice and the homes orderly. During this visit, we stopped at the Basin Bistro for lunch, and it was great. Service was provided by a young group who were friendly but also professional. We ordered the tuna poke bowls, and they were delicious. The restaurant is quaint, simply decorated,and though busy, it was easy to carry on a conversation. It was a very great stop that we enjoyed. Fantastic breakfast for such a casual spot. It's super welcoming and comfortable. The tables are nicely spaced apart. It doesn't feel crapped. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We got the traditional breakfast which was delicious. The pancakes were perfect and huge! The breakfast enchiladas were absolutely the star of the show. Loved how water and coffee were all out to grab at your convenience. The only thing I would change is the brooms and dustpans and cleaning stuff were by the table we were sitting at. This place is horribly disorganized and a mess. Walked in to a mostly empty restaurant with a handful of people waiting. A large number of people came in behind us and the staff started to look flustered. Stood in line for 15 minutes before being told there was a wait to order and I would need to go out side to wait 30 minutes for a text message to come stand in line again to order. They took all 3 groups in front of us orders without any sort of text message. And there was no one at the door of the mostly empty restaurant when we came in. If there's a line to get in line when 2/3 of your tables are complete empty and clean you have a big problem. Staff was very rude and clearly had no clue what they were doing. Had a froze here yesterday that was overly sweet. Would not recommend. Live in the neighborhood but I won't be back here. Miss the old restaurant that was here. read more
