There is only 1 stall for each male or female. We happened to be present for Happy Hour, so we ordered a Margarita Flight (all very delicious and appetizing). The Margarita Flight cinched the cozy "don't worry about anything beach vibe." We also shared the Seafood Platter: Shrimp Kisses, Jumbo Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Beer-battered fish, and Fish Filet! The Coconut Shrimp was absolutely scrumptious that the true test of love was revealed on who would eat the last piece. (My boyfriend is such a sweetheart that he ensured that my foodie heart was indulged!) The Coconut Shrimp was hands down my favorite for the crispy and juicy batter! My friends and I were in Galveston for the Lone Star Rally, and The Spot ended up becoming our go-to place. We came here three different times, and every single visit was solid. The food was always on point -- the Diablo shrimp, calamari, and the seared salmon were all legit and full of flavor. The service here really stood out, too. Alicia, Nique, and Makenzie, they all made sure we were always taken care of, and the manager came by each time to check on us, which you don't see everywhere anymore. The restaurant is nothing fancy however it's very beach vibe, swings under the restaurant for kids, on the beach, great outdoor seating with beach and ocean views. Jimmy is nonverbal, but he is easily the hardest worker I have ever seen. He was everywhere at once, bussing tables and constantly checking in on guests. I'm one who loves a seasoned burger but my patties were very salty, flavorful but salty. I added bacon on top of my burger which just aided to the saltiness. The view is excellent. The chips and queso were tasty. The onion rings were excellent. The smash burger was ok. I didn't like the pickles or the sauce and the bread is a little thick for my taste. Others may love it though. It's in a prime tourist location, so as expected, the prices were high for burgers. Parking can be tricky. I absolutely love the spot. This restaurant isn't like a typical one, but it definitely never disappoints to start. It has a beautiful view on seawall. It's a few stories tall, it's not the typical restaurant where you're served by a waiter or waitress. You basically go to the front, order, then they give you a number and they call you down to grab your food. The food is pretty good, I love their shrimp Poboy. They also have a great queso. My sister is autistic and a picky eater and couldn't explain why she didn't like her food, and they were still accommodating and very kind and helpful and went above and beyond in getting the issue resolved. My snapper was excellent and I had no complaints and would definitely order it again, the fish and mango were both very fresh. The bathroom was clean and the seating was comfortable, which is important to me in a restaurant. Ambiance: The set up of the restaurant is very overcrowded with the tables and chairs being almost intertwined to the point where you have to walk sideways to move through the restaurant. Food: so they brought me the wrong burger the first time (the sweet and spicy burger) which looked very good but it is not what I ordered. I forgot to take a picture of my correct burger but I got the King burger. I really hate to say this but it was awful. The meat was not seasoned with so much as salt or pepper. It was so greasy on the bottom that the bottom bun was disintegrating as I picked it up.. the fries were decent. We also had fried pickles in the beginning that were solid. The appetizer came out room temperature. We decided not to order from the main menu for that reason. The restroom in the bar area on the second floor needs attention. One working sink and 3/4 stalls function. You can park in a lot for $10 on the weekend if the parking lot is at capacity (it's small ) or in the parking garage across the street. I'm going to update my review from 2015; The Spot has really included some vegetarian options to the menu. The service has improved and the staff is more attentive. They place the food on the table and are asking, "did I get it right?" or "was it anything else that you needed?" The ambiance is about the same and it was quite crowded, but I was able to hold and hear the conversation that I was having. The Tropical black bean burger was vegan when I took off the cheese and it was still pleasantly tasty. The mango salsa really put the spices in the taste of the black beans. I'm happy that they didn't put corn into the binding of the burger. The bread was soft and paired well with the beans.
