Talking with our waiter, apparently Oporto was the unofficial hang out for the Portuguese World Cup fans. Oporto offers both a lunch and dinner Restaurant Weeks menu at lunch. My wife and I opted for the dinner menu. Everything we had was outstanding and eye opening. We started with the cod croquets and goat cheese in tomato basil sauce with toast. Both were wonderful! For the main course we had the Beef Portuguese, a marinated beef cutlet with eggs and potatoes. Also, the Goan Fish Curry. Goa was a Portuguese colony so if you like Indian food, you will love this. The fish curry was our favorite. The deserts were also very good, but to be honest, we were pretty full by then. We also had an outstanding Portuguese Duro red wine with the meal. To sum up, great food, great service and a beautiful little restaurant. If you go to Oproto for lunch after RW they have an interesting looking lunch special they call the "Portuguese Power Lunch" that is a $30 fixed price meal. (Not available during Restaurant Weeks.) There is metered street parking. However, we found that there is also parking for the restaurant in the building next door. For lunch, at least, the parking is free.
