The place had a lively, cozy vibe that fit the day perfectly. I ordered a unique craft beer from Charleston, SC, which was such a cool find on tap in Galveston. My family tried the boozy hot chocolate, wine, and a couple of drinks from their solid coffee selection. The staff was friendly and kept things moving smoothly even with the festival crowd. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5--is the limited snack options. It would've been nice to pair the drinks with a few more bites, especially during such a busy event. Overall, though, Proletariat is definitely worth a stop if you're exploring the Strand. Great drinks, great vibe, and a perfect little retreat during Dickens on the Strand.

They do have a vegetarian portion. The samosas were kind of like beef, taco mimosas that's what it taste like to me. They're red fish was really good cause the crab crusted on the outside and the sauce mixed together. I definitely recommend getting that if you like fish. I got it with a side of mac & cheese. It does come with veggies, but they let you change out the side. My mom got the margarita pizza and I've had pizza for sure but they do have five or six options of pizzas to choose from. And all the best thing was the bread pudding. Definitely get that save some room. It was warm with ice cream and the perfect bread pudding. I've ever had get it. There is street parking after six. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a nice-sized bar near the entrance that makes for a great place to enjoy a drink before dinner. One tip: be sure to pay attention to the dress code. We saw guests turned away for not meeting it, so it's definitely enforced. The service was absolutely spectacular. Everything was perfectly synchronized--from the drinks arriving and set on the table together, to each course being served in unison, to the timely clearing of plates. It's the kind of attentive, polished service that has become increasingly rare. We started with the ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, followed by the empanadas. They were all good, although the shrimp empanada wasn't my favorite. For our entrées, we had the salmon, the filet, and the lamb chops. The salmon was perfectly prepared, the filet was so tender it practically melted in your mouth, and the lamb chops were some of the best my husband has ever had. With exceptional service, outstanding food, and an elegant atmosphere, Rudy & Paco's absolutely lived up to its reputation. We'll definitely be back.
