I desperately needed to wash my dog and had heard about how they have a punch card for self service washing for $40. I get 6 washes and used one that day. The wash stations were all clean and stocked. I was given 2 towels (much appreciated, I had mine in the car ready just incase) and at each spot there was shampoo and conditioner free to use. I dont recall how other self washing places are (like petsmart) but I really appreciate that the water hose has the different options, using the shower/mist option was best on my dog. Using a more powerful one wouldve made her more anxious. And also really like the fact that the dryer hose isnt super loud, so my dog surprisingly did really well when i was drying her off! I'll be taking her back whenever she needs another shower. And for sure whenever she needs more food toppers and to try getting her some natural chews.

While shopping, I asked one of the cashiers (I believe her name was Jessica) if she could provide the restroom passcode. She told me she would send someone right away. I waited over 10 minutes, and no one ever came to assist. After finishing my purchase, I asked again and was told that the restroom is only for customers. That response was frustrating, considering I had just spent a significant amount of money in the store. I even asked, half seriously, how much I needed to spend to actually be considered a "customer," since no one had helped me. It's not really about the restroom itself it's about basic customer service and follow through. Being told someone will help and then being completely ignored is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience. If this is how customers are treated, it really makes you question the level of care and attention given overall.

There was urine in multiple aisles thats more of a pet parent issue then a employee issue (please pick up after your animals) The only thing I knocked a star off is the fact they don't price match their own prices online. The kitten formula my friend needed was marked $15 lower on the Petco website then in store. Since the kittens were hungry and the momma cat wasn't feeding her babies, it was needed now and not the next pick up time. Usually other stores will price match their items online no matter the price difference. The cashier here said she can only take 20% off as they don't price match their own online prices. It could of been just the cashier that night but I find it odd that a company won't price match from its own website. Other then that it was quick and easy experience.

The day I scheduled for my pup to be groomed, it rained all day. When I arrived to Petco, there was only one groomer staffed. I was a bit concerned at first because I thought she would be overwhelmed with too many pets to bath and groom. She let me know that she had a lot of cancellations because of the weather. That eased my mind some. I didn't want her to rush through and give my puppy a bad haircut. It had been a while since he was cut (he'd only had a puppy cut) so I needed her to be extra careful in cutting his hair down low, like I wanted. Also, he was so nervous and anxious, he whined the entire time I was checking him in. This added to my level of anxiety as well. Well, when I picked up my puppy, I was amazed at how well he looked. He no longer looked scruffy. His cut was amazing!! I was so happy with his look. Nikia did exactly what I asked. I made sure to give her a good tip that day. I don't live in Houston but if I'm ever here on an extended vacation again in the future, and my dog needs to be groomed, I'll be sure to request Nikia at Petco. She did an excellent job! And my puppy was happy when he saw me. He even pranced around. I think he knew he looked good - even on a rainy day!
