I had some extra time before my flight out of Burbank today, so I decided to stop and get a bite to eat. I figured it would be cheaper than eating at the airport. Fish Dish is located just outside of the airport. I read a couple of Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I ordered the grilled salmon with garlic butter, brown rice, cole slaw, garlic bread, and a soda. It was REALLY good. I got two nice-sized pieces of salmon. The garlic butter was a good choice (also served plain or cajun-style). The cole slaw was really tasty and had raisins which gave it a nice added layer of flavor. The garlic bread and cole slaw were also quite good. All of this for around $10. Definitely a great deal. I highly recommend giving this place a try the next time you fly out of Burbank. read more

Also they have tacos and borittos , Salads etc. The place is packed around 12 noon. prices are $8-$14 for a good meal. once again its a fast food restaurant so don't look for extra friendly service. Not bad. Prices here seem slightly higher for what you get and overall compared to California Fish Grill. The fish was a tad burnt but I liked it that way. Their coleslaw was okay--again I've had better at similar restaurants. It was a bit soggier than other ones I've had (i.e. not necessarily the sauce but the veggies felt like they'd been sitting in the sauce for a bit). Fries were okay. There was one item on their menu that is completely eluding me right now (I will update when I remember) that did seem very appetizing and excited me. If anything, I'd get their tacos, those were actually quite good. Sauced and fried well. Nothing seemed old. I would give this 3.5 if I could but add 0.5 for that extra dish. If you are looking for a really good comparable fish grill place, and are willing to drive a bit, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I had the grilled scallops platter plus a fried fish taco. The scallops were cooked perfectly medium rare, the fries were crispy and the cole slaw was good. I wouldn't get the fried fish taco again (nothing exciting and the fish batter wasn't so tasty). My friend really liked her grilled ahi tuna. Bf and I came here for a late dinner after picking me up from the train station across the street. Still in my healthy phase, I ordered the grilled salmon salad with sesame dressing. Bf had a mahi mahi burrito with cole slaw and fries. The salsa bar was unspectacular and salsa were unmemorable. My salad was good, but it tasted just like how grilled salmon should taste. Add that with some plain lettuce and a few toasted pecans and that was my meal. Sesame dressing was just that. Bf seemed to really enjoy his burrito as it was gone in a matter of seconds. Cole slaw disappeared quickly and french fries literally vanished. Nowadays, healthy eats do cost more, however it felt plain and just a tad overpriced. There are lots of fresh fish options and they are grilled and can be served with a garlic butter sauce, or a Cajun sauce. Both sauces are great. They are so good I just can't make up my mind... I always get both served on the side. I don't care for coleslaw in general so I never get it. Rather, I substitute it for veggies for $1 and it's so worth it. They usually give steamed broccoli, cauliflower that is lightly seasoned. Yum! Also, the garlic toast you get with the fish filet meals is grilled and tastes fantasmo with the fresh salsa they have. This place is pretty popular for lunch during the week. I recommend getting there no later than 11:30am. Fish Dish is one of my favorite places to go when I'm looking for a flavorful, filling, yet light lunch. If you love fish I recommend that you give this place a visit. read more

It's nice to know that there's still places out there that are offer consistent quality combined with fast service and affordable prices. Expect high quality food and big portions. I often go here when its not busy and can't really complain about anything. I especially like the variety of the menu, chicken, beef, pork, different kinds of seafood. The menu has popular asian, mexican and american to keep it interesting. Whether you want it fried, charbroiled, or grilled.. it doesn't get boring. I have tried several items on their menu and each time portions are big and cooked exactly as described. I usually wait under ten mins for the food which is brought to you by the staff. This joint is hard to beat. The staff is very accommodating. Not in the mood for rice? "Please substitute steamed veggies, no problem." Never disappoints, maybe that's something to be said for how well it's managed. I've been here a few times and been kind of turned off by the employees. Half are nice and half couldn't be bothered. Then today I was done eating lunch, sitting outside at two single tables that had been pushed together (not by me). When I sat there, that was the only table available. Anyway, the manager comes up to me and says, "Are you done eating sir?" in a polite way. I said yes. Then he asks some people standing, "How many in your party? 4?" Then he just holds his hand out to the table I'm at. Now, I would move in a heartbeat if I had known those people were waiting but I didn't. I had no problem moving at all. What I have a problem with is the manager not even asking me to leave. He just offered my table while I was still in my chair. It made me feel awkward. The food here is decent and affordable. But I'll never go back. I don't understand how nobody knows how to talk to people any more. read more

I love this chain, we have one where I live, so when I had a few minutes in Burbank I stopped by this location expecting a great quick lunch. I ordered my usual, the seared ahi. They brought me some kind of Cajun blackened fish. Normally if a restaurant makes a mistake like this I would just eat it anyway. I'm easy, and not a complainer. But a Cajun fish is something I'd never order. Gross. So I said I was very sorry but I ordered the seared ahi, so she took it away. (Notice I was the one who apologized) then a few minutes later they served me the same fish with the blacked seasoning scraped off. Seriously. It was obvious I wasn't going to get what I ordered and had already paid for, (including a tip, where there are no waiters) and I just didn't have time to waste, so I walked out. The a$$hole who made that decision to scrape off the wrong fish and just send it back out should be fired. Saw their scallop plate and that definitely looked delicious. If you want some serious protein, healthy meal at a good price, then this is the place for you. I NORMALLY dislike fish, unless it's completely battered and deep fried, or raw, which is a weird spectrum, I admit, so, with that, Fish Dish is pretty good. Granted I've only had the deep fried fishies(fishes) there, and in each environment. Fish tacos, fish plates and their fish burritos, they're all very fantastic. I would rank them in that order as well. The burrito, while good, very good in fact, doesn't showcase their fish that well, too many ingredients, but still, it's very worth ordering. If you LOVE fish, then get a fish plate, that will better represent the flavors of the restaurant. Try it out, I usually go to Rocky's in Burbank if I want fish, but I like this place a bit more. read more

This place is similar to California Fish Grill that I've been to in lake forest and irvine. Basically pick your fish, pick your sauce (garlic butter or cajun), pick your rice (white or brown). Had the whitefish platter which was the cheapest of the fish options. Very big portions. Coleslaw was tasty. Also came with garlic bread. Not sure if I can afford to come here regularly to try other fish options. The salmon and halibut plate cost $15-$20. Also the salmon teriyaki plate cost $14. Ouch! The gf works near to this plaza, so we meet for lunch a lot. Subway, Panda, pretty much one level removed from fast food... Wanted to try Fish Dish Grill so turned to Yelp for advice. Good reviews so we gave it a try. Really, really glad we did. Delicious, nutritious lunch at a reasonable price. I had the grilled salmon with teriyaki on the side, steamed veggies and asked for the cilantro rice. Super good! The gf had the chicken teriyaki, which she liked, but wished she had ordered fish (ha). It started getting really crowded around 1:30pm, but the tables turn over fairly quickly. Service was excellent, our order taker at the register was very nice and there was no problem asking for things to be done differently than the menu listed. Sorry Fish Dish, but I have to drop you down a star for 2 reasons. 1 - They raised their prices, SIGNIFICANTLY. Some items are $2 more! I get that with inflation prices will rise periodically, but their price increases constituted too much of a jump. 2 - I had a burrito there once which was one of the worst lunches I have ever had in my life. It was completely not edible. Maybe it was my fault for ordering a burrito at a fish place, but if its on the menu it's fair game, and in this case it was absolutely horrible. They did give me a fish taco to make up for it which was nice. Still not bad though (except for the burritos). read more

My husband and I came here for a quick dinner after a flight into Burbank. It was our first time here and we did not know what to order. The cashier was friendly and offered good suggestions. My husband got the Charbroiled Mahi Mahi, which was delicious! I'm not the biggest fan of cooked fish, but this was tender and seasoned nicely. The entrée was a good size for the price ($13). Comes with your choice of: white rice, brown rice, or fries. We got the white rice, which actually turned out to be rice pilaf - all the better!! Also came with a side of garlic bread and coleslaw. I got the Shrimp taco ($3.50). You can either choose grilled or fried, I got the grilled. While I must say I am NOT a fan of corn tortillas, this was good!! The taco came with about 4 large shrimps, some cabbage, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a mayo-pinkish sauce. My husband said it could have been slightly better with less sauce. I like sauce so I did not mind :) Overall, can't get better "fast-food" seafood than this. Will definitely come back! read more

Returned here last Thursday, and once again was delighted by the quality of their meal. I had the grilled salmon plate with the garlic marinade and it was outstanding. Garlic did not overwhelm the fish and vice versa. Fish was cooked perfectly and came moist and juicy. Love the brown rice and garlic bread too. The place was very busy but I received my order in a timely fashion. As a fish-lover, I have become accustomed to the fact that fresh fish takes longer to prepare than other foods so I will not complain. Others may have issues, but even during my visit, and in spite of a long line, the orders seemed to be coming out relatively fast and efficiently. Only negative item for me is that ventilation inside the dining room is quite smoky and caused my alergies to act up. As a building trades specialist by vocation, I recommend that they have their exhaust system evaluated for effectiveness; the system for the kitchen hood may need cleaning or upgrade. read more

I used to love this location -- it was clean, well maintained, and had impeccable service. Not sure if they switched owners recently, or if management was just slacking tonight, but I tried to pick up food there this evening and was shocked by how much the quality has dropped at this location. The restaurant was no longer clean and the salsa/sauce bar was dirty, with spilled sauce and empty containers littering the area. Half the sauces were almost empty and what was left looked like it had been sitting out all day. The main dining area used to be cleaned constantly, but tables looked dirty and not at all well maintained. What was being cleaned was sort of just lazily wiped down with a rag and zero real effort. And they claimed to be out of half the sides I wanted to order. But most important of all, the service I experienced tonight was TERRIBLE and, quite frankly, inexcusable. First of all, I arrived 25 minutes after I put in my order -- well over the 15 minutes that I was quoted. When I arrived, the cashier, who said her name was Nelly, told me it was never put in. No apology, no explanation. She just said I'd have to wait 15 minutes for them to do it because "someone" didn't put it in. When I asked why, she literally shrugged and said "I told them to." She then proceeded to pick up a phone call while I was in the middle of talking to her. When she hung up, she said "So can you wait for it, or do you want to cancel?" Again, no apologies. Just very clear annoyance that I was apparently wasting her time -- which is odd, considering that MY time was wasted since my order never got put in. When I said I didn't want to wait and complained about the service, she actually ROLLED HER EYES AND LAUGHED at me. Look, I understand that mistakes happen and sometimes orders don't go through. And if she had been at all apologetic or even, I don't know, pleasant, then I would have been completely understanding. But you can't be blatantly annoyed at a customer when you're the one who messed up the order. I mean, at least have the decency (or intelligence) to hide those feelings. I'm not really sure what passes for customer service at this place, but this definitely wasn't it. I know this is a fast casual restaurant, so I'm not exactly expecting a fine dining experience, but a little common decency, seems like a pretty reasonable expectation, right? Needless to say, I passed on waiting for my food and chose to give my money to El Pollo Loco next door -- where, I should add, the service and cleanliness were both excellent. So save yourself the hassle and spend your money there instead. read more
