We were looking for a sports bar to watch the US soccer match and the British Embassy popped up. I…read moredidn't know England had an embassy or even consulate in Richmond but hey soccer is international. We soon found out it was a fish and chips pub and they had a few seats open for the soccer match. They have British appetizers like Scotch egg, sausage roll, curry chips and gluten free fish and chips if you are tracking GF. . They also have a Thai menu but we were into fish and chips and were not disappointed. Crispy, fresh fish and the chips were fantastic. We had several British beers on draft a few Guinness and we had a blast. Service was great, efficient and attentive. Our team won, what a wonderful day..

Still a convenient place to stop in for a downtown lunch but it has gotten quite expensive. The…read morefish and chips contained one medium (at best) piece of cod and a handful of chips for $21.99. (Haddock was the same price.) Service remains very good although the kitchen was slow for an empty dining room. Oldies music was good until it was shut off in favor of classical (about 1:15 pm.) Total bill for two including one soft drink and a scotch egg and two cod and chips: just over $61. Not a bad price for an extraordinary lunch but far too much for a casual affair for working stiffs.

Let me tell you this is the pinnacle dining experience in Petersburg, dare I say, the whole…read moretricities area. Prices: FAIR Food: delicious and seasoned perfectly Menu: tastefully eclectic, yet classic Vibe: immaculate, music is on point, decor makes you feel like a regular at a pub in an indie film. Service: this is my third visit and the waitresses have all been attentive, sociable, and just flat out kind. Recommendations: Caesar Salad w/Steak Add On: this is a house made dressing and the steaks is beautiful juicy and salted perfect Petersburger : the sweet onion jam with the bacon does something to your soul. Not to mention the fries are natural cut, but not floppy at all, they are bombbb. My wife and I have determined this is a dartboard restaurant (you could throw darts blindly at the menu, order whatever you hit, and go home happy) Critique: The two times my wife ordered steak here it was slightly under cooked, however, they gladly and speedily fixed the issue.

The first thing you see when you arrive is the bustling English style pub area that features a large assortment of craft brews and a fully stocked bar. The team at Brickhouse will make you feel welcome shortly after you arrive. There is seating in the pub area, but for a more intimate dining experience, I recommend seating in the cozy dining area just a step down from the pub. Personalized service homemade soups, delicious apps and entrees featuring fresh vegetables, are some of the things you can count on here. I highly recommend Brickhouse. You will not be disappointed!

Sophia and I had lunch over the weekend at this spot. We've actually been here twice at their…read moreoriginal location in Yorktown before they moved closer to us. They even got a spot on Channel 13 for their Friday Flavor segment. Let's see how a visit to their new digs went. We were greeted by the staff when we walked inside. For ordering, we would have to go to the counter and pay up front. Afterwards, seat wherever you like. It's very spacious where everything is clean. There's a self-tap section where you can select whatever beverage you like and to the back is a gaming section, particularly if you like axe throwing or cornhole. Not bad for sports buffs. As far as the food goes, it was really good. We had fried pickle chips for apps, which weren't too salty. And the homemade ranch complimented the food well. For my main dish, I selected fish and chips. The fried cod was fresh and hot. And the fries had a good amount of salt to add taste. Overall, a nice time here for a well-known spot expanded for more customers. We will be back here. Till next time :)

The ambience is nice - they have TVs where you can watch games and it's very clean and open space. If you like fried food, this place is for you. Everything is fried and unhealthy. No dessert options for an evening bite. We used to go to the old location in Yorktown, and absolutely loved their fish and chips. We went to the new location tonight and I will say it is a beautiful restaurant. I like how they have games inside so you are entertained. They have a few smaller tables but it is mostly long tables with bar stools. They have axe throwing in the back. They also have many cornhole boards which I believe they advertise that they have cornhole on Wednesdays. While we were there tonight, they had music bingo. It was a lot of fun ! There is a beer wall where you get a card, and have to tap the beer that you want on the wall in order to pour yourself a beer. It is a neat concept however, it's very confusing. It does make it easy to get the beer you want without having to wait on weight staff or a bartender. I had the fish tacos. I am not a big fried food person, and the fish tacos came fried. They were very crunchy and it was hard for me to eat... I felt like the fried part of the fish, overpowered the fish. The ratio of coleslaw to fish was off- There was more coleslaw than there was fish. It was also very difficult for me to eat the tacos and push the fish down into the taco. I will say, the fish was seasoned well and the sauce was delicious- a little kick of heat but not too bad. My fiancé had the Fish and Chips. The "chips" (fries) were seasoned well. He said that he felt they gave you less fish than they used to. I ordered the Sweet & Sour basket, thinking it was candied jalapeños and fried pickles. The jalapeños were sliced like the pickles and fried. You couldn't tell which was which in the basket. I was expecting a non-fried jalapeño with some sort of sticky sauce. They were good but filling and unhealthy. My buddy had the curry fries- it was delicious! I never had curry sauce before and it works well with fries! We went for a birthday party (group of 11) and were incredibly disappointed in the service. While the waiter was kind, we had many food items missing and had to keep asking. The "birthday boy" had his food missing and we asked about it numerous times. A large table that came after us, got complimentary food. Not that we were looking for free food or anything, but the fact there were many screw ups (we didn't complain or act in any way) and that table was treated so well- that annoyed us. I know we will be back because my fiancé enjoys the fish and chips, but if I had the choice, I would not go back for the food only. I would go back for axe, throwing and music bingo !

Indoors was great; they have cool AC for that hot day. Matthew who tended the bar also took care of us. He answered all our questions. Chicken and waffles were good. The chicken was crispy on the outside but tender in the inside. I enjoyed the pineapple upside down pancake. The sweetness was just right. The pancakes were fluffy and the pineapple was refreshing with cherries on top. Pork shoulder hash was good too. Enjoyed the food and experience here.

They were good, but nothing too special, the white BBQ sauce that came with it was great! We then Ordered dinner, where my bf got the pork chop, sweet potatoes, and Mac and cheese. His pork chop was very tough, and the sauce on top was a very strange combination. The sweet potatoes had a really weird taste, almost like they put a weird spice in it. Mac and cheese was good! I got the pumpkin bolognese. Was very very heavy on the meat which was a little greasy. I didn't see much pumpkin, maybe 5 small pieces. I think it needed more and a little more flavor. Overall, it was a good concept just not what we were expecting. The food wasn't bad per se, just expected more. The parking is easy and place is nice, but I don't think we will be back until another seasonal menu is out.
