Very disappointed in Brandon. I've used him to move a sofa before and he was great. 5 stars for that. He was so great the first time that when it came to another sofa move, he was the first person I called. I needed him to pick up to dispose of my old sofa on a Thursday since my new couch was supposed to be delivered Friday (right before the Super Bowl). Talked with him on the phone and made arrangements. Sent him pictures and talked with him on the phone. He said he could do the move and to just text him the date. I followed his instructions and didn't hear from him. Since I worked with him before, I figured everything was good. I text him the day before to ensure we were still on track. Called him multiple times (and everything was going to voicemail). But I figured, I've worked with Brandon before and he is reliable. Thursday came along and I text him again. Left him a voicemail. Called multiple times. When the time came for him to get the sofa, he was a no show. I had to reschedule my new sofa delivery all because he couldn't even bother to tell me he couldn't do it. Even a text from Brandon would have been fine to reschedule or cancel. He calls me on Saturday - not even a voicemail or a text apologizing. Life happens, so I would have been okay if he just communicated he couldn't do it. But to not say anything? I really thought he was a reliable guy but I won't use his moving servicing again. 5 stars for the first project. 0 stars for the second. read more

Amazing service and amazing people! I was moving from CA to IL. Booked FirstHand Moving to load up my Uboxes through Uhaul a month before my move. 24 hours before my move, Uhaul randomly cancels my box loading services. Brandon from FirstHand Moving was on top of this and came in clutch!!! He gave me a call to notify me about this cancellation before I received the email from Uhaul. Agreed to come to my place and complete the Ubox loading job at the agreed upon rate originally booked through Uhaul. Brandom and team took 3 hours and 30 minutes to pickup and pack all my stuff (3 bedroom 2 bath house being moved) in 4 Uboxes. All furniture was wrapped nicely in furniture pads. Scheduled a Saturday morning move and three guys showed up (15minutes early!) with their own truck, dollies, furniture pads etc. It happened to be raining so they covered the carpets and wrapped my furniture accordingly. They were very professional, friendly, fast and efficient. I even had a huge China cabinet that's been in my family for 40years and they handled it with the utmost care! Not a scratch on anything. If you're moving anywhere in the Bay Area these are definitely the best guys you can hire. Totally awesome. I had over a ton to unload including several heavy, bulky panels: A dismantled, professional quality vocal booth I'd used while working based out of LA for a year, one which takes 2-3 people to assemble, disassemble or move. It had been a big investment which I'd planned to either use again or sell after moving back to SF, so transporting it well and making sure it would stay all OK from there was a pretty big deal. When I remembered the morning of the unload that I needed to run to the hardware store at the last minute to buy some rolls of painter's plastic to wrap the panels up and protect them from moisture, they were cool with how I'd be returning a little bit after our scheduled start time. My garage had been full of a lot of cardboard boxes and leftover packaging materials needing break-down and recycling. I hadn't had quite enough time earlier in the morning or in the previous week to finish all that, to clean it out to make a totally clear path for the move-in process, but they rolled with it and helped me push all the stuff aside quickly. They were flexible, fast, efficient; unloaded and helped me wrap the panels up for safe storage and got all my other stuff in with care. Highly recommended. read more

Scheduled them to help us unload our moving truck and they contacted us 2 days before our move just to tell us the time we needed them didn't work and we had to cancel them. If they are not available they should not show availability online then overbook and throw off people's moving plans. It cost us $100 more to schedule someone after they cancelled. I moved from the South Bay to San Francisco a few weeks ago, and Brandon and his team were amazing! They showed up on time, and were so quick loading/unloading everything!! Definitely not the kind of movers that move slowly, so they can charge for more time.
