Came in around 9:30 AM and the place wasn't busy! The parking lot however, had nowhere to park so we had to park in another business and walk over. We were served a big pitcher of water for the table and unfortunately didn't get it refilled, although we may have overstayed (as we were visiting with friends for ~2 hours). I felt I had to ration the water in my glass. The waiter did not seem very happy to be serving us, I'm not sure if he was having an "off day" or it's just his personality, but I didn't get the best vibes. He only checked on us once, which is fine, I just wish he would've noticed our lack of water. My bowl was good. However, it felt like there was NO barbacoa. They must've ran out just before making my bowl, and instead of making more, they dumped the beef juices and broth onto my plate and scraped what little beef was left onto my plate. Genuinely was so disappointed in the lack of meat. Now that I'm thinking back to it, I definitely should've said something. I even asked, when they served it, "this is the barbacoa right?" Cause I was searching everywhere for the protein. They also gave us a receipt that you have to scan with your phone to pay. Can't help but think my dad would have no way to pay cause he has a flip phone. Would return here again, possibly get something different.

If you know anything about me, you know that I love first watch. But this location was very disappointing from the parking lot is extremely small and there is no street parking so I literally had to sit outside 15 minutes away for somebody to come out and leave before I got a parking spot. The service here was terrible. We were constantly looking for our server. Our server changed three times within a 45 minute period and the order was wrong twice it had to be sent back. Great little brunch spot right near campus. Service was very friendly. The avocado toast was perfect. No fuss the way I like it sliced avocado on yummy wheat bread a little EVOO and s&p served with eggs your way with a small up charge I added bacon. They offer lots of juices too. Will definitely be back.

My friend and I recently stopped in to grab some brunch and to catch up. It was super packed when we got here, but the staff were super nice and accompanied us when it was our time. The ambience of the restaurant was really cute, we loved the vibe. To start off I got the million dollar potatoes and they were fantastic. I love the bacon and sour cream they added, as well as the seasoning on the potatoes themselves. They were super crunchy on the outside mushy on the inside and tasted perfect. For my main meal I got the pesto chicken power bowl. I like the chicken and pesto, along with the quinoa. This meal was super light and was still big enough for some leftovers. Me and my friend had a great time and will be sure to stop in again.

The food is usually pretty good though it is on the pricier side of things. This visit, there was an issue but the staff quickly responded and remediated. There is inside or outdoor seating to fit your preferred ambiance during your meal. We opted to sit outside though it was a tad warm as the morning progressed. Would have been great if they had misters or fans outside.

Greeted with a smile right when you walked in the door. The service was amazing. It was a quiet Thursday morning but the restaurant atmosphere was great. The food all packed unique flavor. Can't wait to try it all again

Menu looked delicious so we walked over from our hotel. It was a nice day so we asked to be sat outside. There were at least two more groups sitting out there. We waited 15 min with no server coming over. I went to the hostess stand to request a server. Another 5 minutes until she finally arrived. She was nice enough but no apology from any of the staff, and that was off putting. The food was a solid 4/5. I had the BEC and my friend had an egg scramble with avocado and cornbread. The million dollar potatoes was definitely the best dish I had. The blackberry sangria was pretty watered down. Overall an okay experience, just wasn't happy with the first impression. We were going to a festival and didn't have time to wait so long. We went to the Daily Jam the following day and it was much better.

This is honestly one of my new favorite brunch places in Tempe/Scottsdale! The food is really great! I've tried the carrot cake pancake, avocado toast (my fav), smoked salmon frittata and the egg scrambles (my favorite). The servers are also very friendly and attentive. My only complaint is they don't sell espresso for lattes :,) but it's okay because Cartel Coffee is Nextdoor.

I expected more, but I guess that's what $14 gets you these days

Brunch with besties! Okay not really, but that just sounded really catchy. We had a girls brunch here as a party of 6 and had a wonderful experience. It was the first time for all of us! Surprisingly, we didn't have much of a wait for being a bustling Saturday morning. We started off with mimosas and a pitcher of sangria. The sangria itself was not very good & had more of a dry bitter taste. I've had really good sangria, and I just couldn't finish my glass. The mimosas however were great, I mean you really can't go wrong with those. Our server was amazing! She was kind, attentive and patient with our crazy group. Most of all us seemed to enjoy our meals. I opted for the "bacado omelette" which is just your basic omelette topped with bacon, avocado & cheese. It was pretty good & came with a side of fresh fruit & a slice of toast. There are plenty of tables both indoor and outdoor and is great spot for both large and small groups. Plenty of options for both breakfast, brunch and love that they offer pitcher options on some of their alcoholic beverages. We'll be back!

First Watch is one of my favorite places to get breakfast. I have been coming to the location near ASU for about four years now, and they have consistently done a great job every time. Although there was one instance where they accidentally burned my order and had to remake it, they made it right by remaking it and providing it to me free of charge. Even the best places have off days, so I understood that, and they have not let me down. While I have had many of the items on their menu, the item I have had the most of is the breakfast tacos. The breakfast tacos never miss. Even though they removed the regular breakfast tacos from the menu, you can still order them, which is a delightful bonus. I know many of the workers there by name, and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are always attentive and make sure everything is going well. Whenever you need anything extra, they are more than happy to help. One of the workers is named Isaac, and he is one of the most genuinely nice guys I have ever met. Every staff member is committed to ensuring that guests have a great experience in their restaurant. Whenever I pay up, I make sure to leave them a handsome tip. The atmosphere is also pleasant. Perfect for unwinding as you prepare for the second half of your day ahead after your lunch break concludes. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a great breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot for a reasonable price. First Watch is among the best options out there.

If you are looking for somewhere to bring your parents for brunch, or someplace to bring your friends that are visiting, or just somewhere to bring that special some on a cute brunch date. This is the spot to go. The Esthetic is super cute. The food is also very good and I recommend getting something off of the juice menu and the seasonal menu. Anything you get, you will not be disappointed! The staff is very friendly and constantly running around as the place fills up quickly! Jumping on the waitlist is a must. Next time we are in Phoenix my wife and I stopping by.

My boyfriend and I have made First Watch a Sunday must. The chicken pesto quinoa bowl is TOO BOMB! We also always get their Kale tonic... even if you don't like green juice, you will seriously love this. I also wanted to take some time to discuss how AMAZING their staff is. From dine in to ordering to-go, these are some of the friendliest servers/managers I've come across (especially at a brunch place, I know they're waking up earrrlyy). I am always greeted with a smile and happy attitudes. I wish I remembered everyone's names but they also have an amazing manager on duty on the weekends. She always remembers my face and makes me feel so welcome! If you're coming to eat here, make sure you TIP WELL or GO HOME! read more

I came to this location yesterday for my birthday. I made a mistake by typing my phone number in incorrectly to get in line. Consequently when they finally tried to check me in with my party of 5 people, they called the wrong person. I obviously did not know they did and I called in to try to get seat after waiting an hour and a half because of my own fault. They gracefully handled the situation. Always my favorite breakfast place. This national chain has an amazing selection, great service and awesome season specials. I love that I can go to a first watch in Arizona or Georgia and it's still amazing. Also, they are very patient and willing to customize if you have dietary restrictions. read more

I have gone to a few First Watch restaurants, but this one is my favorite! The food is excellent! I love the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes! Other favorites are the Bacado Omelet, and the Farmhouse Hash. Their toast is amazing! Thick, artisanal bread with fresh preserves. I'm usually full and end up taking the toast home. The customer service at this location is amazing! They have been able to make any substitutions that I have asked for. I usually get the Day Glow juice (now removed from the menu), but the Morning Meditation juice always sounded interesting but I was afraid of the one of the ingredients (beet juice). My friend felt the same way so we asked if there was anyway we could try as small sample. They came out with a fairly large size samples (3 to 4 full sips). And that is how the Morning Mediation became my new favorite juice. read more

First time eating at First Watch - all around everyone was overwhelming pleased with their food, I had the farmhouse skillet hash and it was absolutely delicious. At times for brunch places it can be apparent when ordering their egg entrees that they may use egg beaters or pre-beat yokes but this place is extremely fresh in all of their ingredients and was not the case. My eggs were cooked perfectly and tasted freshly cracked. The fruit, toast, and jam were also all very flavorful. The atmosphere was busy but expected for a Sunday morning. I will be most definitely be back to try the rest of their menu! read more

I stopped by my buddies house this morning and it looked like a bomb went off inside. There was some guy named "Neal" who may or may not have been dead when I walked in. His alarm was going off - who gets up at 8am on a Sunday though really? Anyway, wasnt going to stay, so I came to First Watch. Here's my Hot Take: Honestly the best coffee I've ever had. VIVA LA Columbia. Quinoa Bowl was also fire. My fat ass is watching my weight. The waiter suggested I come back to Tempe at night to get blitzed nearby. 3/3 Perfect Stars. 5 star rating is over done. Bravo. read more

Came on a Saturday 2/23/2019 during the opening weekend of spring training. Spring training was a wet one this time around, so it was nice to get a break from the rain. The line wasn't too long but we opted for putting our name on the list via yelp. It saved us tons of time and once we arrived, the table was ready. Places like this are great because you pay a comparable price to a chain place, but the quality is way better. Feels fresh, clean, and friendly. Not the best egg sandwich I have ever had, but it definitely came close. The egg was runny as expected and the toast was on point. Get the elevated egg sandwich if you can't pick something on the menu. Nice place to visit for an out of visitor from Los Angeles. read more

Walk in and feel at home in the farmhouse modern atmosphere. Start with a nice big cup of freshly brewed coffee and some refreshing water poured from a mason jar. The biscuits and gravy with turkey sausage was bursting with pepper flavor and was incredibly creamy. The biscuit was flaky and perfectly cooked. My BLT eggs Benedict had the perfect amount of hollandaise sauce, and with just a hint more bacon could have been PERFECT. The kids meals are very generous and come with a drink. Prices are just a touch high but not too bad. Overall a wonderful place with a welcoming atmosphere that I would visit again. read more

To quote the wife..."that place was yummy." They accommodated a large party easily (7). A lot of creativity on the menu. The shrimp and grits were great. The breakfast hash was a delectable mix of well done potatoes perfectly cooked egg and good mix of bacon and another ingredients. The million dollar bacon was slightly overrated and overpriced. It was not well balanced between pepper and sweet. It was cooked spot on though. There was a miscue wity the one order of our high maintenance guest, but they were quickly and politely fixed. The coffee was deep, dark and rich. Would highly reccomend. read more

First time going to first watch and it was really good. I got the you pick 2 and I got the chicken avocado chop and the Monterey sandwich, both were super good and filling!! It only took 10 minutes for the food to come out for 6 of us and it was pretty busy I would say. Definitely will be back! read more

I love this place! Fresh food made to order. They always have a new squeezed juice on the menu. I enjoy that, even though I love their original juices. We came here bright and early and there was no wait or line; which was surprising. (Come to find out there was a run happening and thats why it wasn't as crowded as it typically is; although they started to pile in as we left:)) I ordered the salmon and roasted veggie Frittata & my sister had the pesto chicken quinoa power bowl. Both were so delicious...as always! I mix my green salad with my frittata & it always tastes so good. I love the chive drizzle that goes on top of the frittata. I think its made in house. We both had their new juice called the Blue Booster and as always it was fresh, yummy and had lots of antioxidants in it. Our waiters name was Mile's and he was really nice, ask for him if you go to this location, he's very helpful & will make your experience a great one! read more

Their food is great - healthy and fresh. But if you're watching calories (I'm doing Weight Watchers), check the points before you order, because things have WAY more points that you would guess! I would only suggest they check the recipes and skinny things down a bit. Also, PARKING! People park on both sides of the driveway and having the handicap spot in a place where you have to walk all the way up the driveway to get to the door...I am pretty sure that's not convenient, safe or legal. At least allow the back door to be used! read more

Me and hubbys first time at one of these and boy were we pleasantly surprised! I joined the waitlist on a Saturday morning via Yelp and by time we arrived we were being seated. Super convenient. This place is easily one of my new favorite healthy spots.Busy place but was seated rather quickly and asked what'd we'd like to drink right away which I always love.Drinks were brought to us rather quickly and I ended up having a pesto chicken quinoa power bowl while my sister got a salmon frittata and we had the blue booster drink to have with our food.Needless to say it was delicious!! The chicken was soft and moist and the feta cheese in my power bowl was amazing,such a great mixture!! The blue booster was definitely a lively refreshment which was such a great pair with my food.Ill definitely be coming back here again!! read more

We were in town for the weekend for Spring Training and went here for Sunday brunch due to the food selection and the fact the website had cocktails on the menu. Turns out this place doesn't have a liqueur license so no cocktails. They really need to fix the website. But the food was good. We got the Trifecta (upgrade to the fancy bacon, I call is crack bacon) and the banana crunch pancakes. read more

What a nice place to have breakfast. Food and service was great. My waiter kept me hydrated by refilling my ice tea as needed. I ordered the quinoa protein bowl but as a vegetarian asked for no chicken. I asked the server if there was a substitution that could be made but he said he didn't think so. The meal was delicious-a great mix of flavors. However without the chicken the dish looked empty and unfinished. For future vegetarians that may order this popular menu item- maybe just add some more kale. read more

Kind of hard to mess up sausage and eggs, its all about the pancakes. These were probably one of the best pancakes I've had! They were cooked perfectly and not too sweet. We had breakfast at this fantastic restaurant 2 days in a row because we were so impressed with the food and service , the clean and modern location was perfect right down the street from the canopy by Hilton . After our meal we walked around the ASU area and could not get over how clean and new the whole neighborhood is . Next year will be back for spring training again and know exactly where to stay and eat. read more

Hip, fresh, opens earlier for their customers, friendly staff, overall comfortable and clean Avocado toast with eggs: Mushy fresh avocados on wheat bread with two eggs any style. Very simple and fresh. Love it and will get it again. Kale tonic: Morning greens??? Yes please! If you are an individual who has lived near Mill avenue for over a decade you have to realize how incronguous it is to have a nice breakfast place open in you area. At one time breakfast, a decent breakfast, was not to be had in the area. Over time that has changed, with places like Ncounter at the top of Mill and Snooze on College avenue. Well, you can add First Watch to that list. It has taken the place of what was once a bicycle sales and repair shop and it is great! I actually heard from a neighbor that they were doing a family and friends opening with donations to Phoenix Children's hospital in place of paying for the meal. I planned to go in Sunday so stopped by today and ended up staying for breakfast. I have never eaten at a First Watch before and found this place was airy and open with a friendly staff and even though I was warned it is in the testing phase excellent service all around. I had the Italian Omelette, that comes with a small green salad and toast, along with the a fresh squeezed juice (also amazing), and coffee. Right off the bat I liked that they give you a small carafe for the coffee so you can pour as you need it and the coffee stays hot and it is good coffee. They do a similar thing with the water, giving you a glass bottle from which you can also pour as needed so you never have to wait for a refill, which I like a lot! The toast does come buttered so if you want it dry you probably need to ask for it and I also like that a small side of fresh jam comes with the toast, which is a whole grain variety and delicious. As for the Omelette, tasty though I would like the mozzarella to be a bit more gooey to hold everything together but it tasted great. Another big thing, the prices are quite reasonable. My omelette breakfast, by itself, was about $10 and the coffee, before tax, is $2.75 so you can eat a decent breakfast for $20 or less. I, for one, intend to be a regular Sunday breakfast person at First Watch and I'm happy to have it as another high quality breakfast option for the ASU community. As it opens at 7 am as older folks in the area can get in and have quiet breakfast before the rest of the ASU community is up and headed out to start the day. Their iced coffee with the milk and whatever else magic they put in it is my FAV! I love this place, the food takes a bit longer but that kinda ensures you how fresh and flavorful it is! The farmhouse hash was great, and had amazing flavors (only dislike was the tomatoes because i think they're sundried and it could do without, but it wasnt hard to push them to the side). I ended up not being able to finish this since there was so much! The banana crunch granola, multigrain pancakes were delicious! The plus side is they're huge too and you get 2 so they are perfect to share! If I could eat at this place at least once a week I would be a happy camper. I ate at this place today and could not have imagined a better place to start my week. What I have noticed about a lot of breakfast/brunch places around the valley is that they are more trendy, picture perfect spots to eat with your friends and grab a mimosa instead of offering healthy, fresh food. That's why I choose First Watch because it offers farm fresh items on their menu which do not go un-noticed. I always feel regenerized and healthy upon leaving. I start my breakfast off by ordering the morning meditation drink which you HAVE to try if you are at First Watch. I was a little nervous reading what was in it: beets, turmeric, etc. but seriously it is one of the most delicious and refreshing drinks I have ever ordered. I have gotten the farmhouse skillet every time and absolutely love this dish. I am a HUGE skillet fan and this skillet is something I crave all the time. It offers two eggs any style, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, potatoes, and avocados. YUM. Toast, fresh jam, and some fruit also is included in the meal. We were excited to see the bold taxidermy featuring the large cats combined with the ornate, gold- framed dapper animal art hanging on the walls. Another reason to love this spot: hidden inside is an entrance to a secret cocktail lounge, or speakeasy, called "Drop Dead Gorgeous." We also appreciated the entire restaurant centering around a glowing, raw wood-fire cooking pit. We could hear and watch our entrées being prepared. What we didn't love so much: the items that we would've liked to have ordered were unavailable. The price to portion ratio in the small bites could also be improved a bit. Great service from our waitress throughout the evening. We ordered: - Fire Roasted Bone Marrow for the table (3/5) - sourdough toast, jalapeño marmalade with demi. I was so excited to try bone marrow for the first time. It was interesting. Sort of like a mix between butter and fat from a steak. It tasted really good with the spicy jalapeño jelly and bread provided. I expected us to be warm and it came out cold. Still not sure if I like it or not. Maybe I'll give it a second try - White Oak Grilled Chicken Skewers (4/5) - served with shiso leaves, kimchi, shishito peppers. kosho aioli, lemon aioli, ssamjung for the table - Very yummy. We enjoyed these. We had actually changed our mind right after initially putting in the milk bread order for the table and they brought out the milk bread so quickly that our waitress said she would give this to us on the house. - Milk Bread for the table (4/5) - miso tomato butter, almond & Kalamata. Even though we changed our mind and got this sent to our table accidentally, I would order this again. It was very delicious and it comes out as an adorable little tomato shaped and colored milk bread with the toppings looking like the stem on top. So tasty and everybody loved it. A little small for our party of five. - Lemongrass Half Chicken (5/5) - Caramelized carrots, kyoto roasted garlic, mashed potatoes & jalapeno jam. Hubs loved this. He said everything was delicious and went well together. - Bomba Rice x2 (5/5) - Risotto, shrimp, linguica, chicken, piquillo peppers, green peas, kosher aioli & Parmesan. My son and his girlfriend both ordered this and said it was very good. - Shishito Caesar Salad add Chicken Skewers (5/5) - bonito, charred shishito peppers, ricotta salata, tapioca chicharron & togarashi. My daughter ordered this and said it was very good. - Spicy Peanut & Tomato Salad add Chicken Skewers (5/5) - peanut dressing, heirloom tomato, baby gem, daikon radish, onion, mala chile, whipped queso de cabra & sour nut. YUMMMM What a creative and unique salad! So glad I tried it. It has unique flavors that work well with each other and a crunch. There's also some heat that goes along with the salad. I was able to withstand it. My son would probably say it's not spicy at all. I'll be craving this salad for months to come. - Dad or Daddy Specialty Cocktail - bright, buzzed & stoned vodka, apricot liqueur, Riesling cordial, ginger, lime, topped with Red Bull Peach Edition (White Peach) - Fruity Mocktail - I asked the waitress if they had any mocktails and she asked me what I liked and gave me examples. Based on what I told her she brought me out a delicious fruity mocktail topped with fresh mint. Parking along the street at metered parking or in parking garage nearby. A few streets away from Tempe Town Lake.

The bar tenders were attentive and on top of everything. Seems like a cool place to catch a game. Very nice patio with lots of misters to keep you cool. When traveling, I'm Always in the look for great spots like this one where you can decompress at tens of the nigh, with a good drink and a relax environment. Great job!!

We had brunch at First Watch twice during our recent trip to Arizona . We ate at the Scottsdale location shortly after arriving from Sacramento. We loved everything! My fiancé had I shared the Million dollar bacon and I had the Ham and guerre omelet . I ordered it with greens and toast. Without the toast I believe the meal was 600 calories which isn't too bad for brunch . The server recommended a fresh pressed juice which we also shared and it was truly energizing. We were really happy to see another location near the Phoenix airport when we were leaving. We had just enough time for another fantastic meal before our flight. We live in California and unfortunately there aren't any locations for us yet . Definitely try this place if you get the chance. read more

Found this place when driving to our hotel and thought we will get breakfast the following morning. I placed the order online for Strawberry Tres Leches Fresh Toast and Farmhouse hash. It was for a 9 am pick up and it was on time for the pickup. My kids had the Fresh Toast and they devoured it. The Hash was shared between my wife and I. It would be a hash without potatoes but this plate was 95% potatoes. It had a very small portion of scrambled eggs and four small slices of avocado. Back to the potatoes, they were on the burnt side. We were definitely disappointed. The very quick interaction with the staff at the front desk was brief to have a feel for the staff. Overall I would try a different location. read more

This has to be one of the best restaurant services I have ever received. When we first seated, our server, Justin, was great about making sure we aware of their drink and menu specials. After informing him that I have a gluten allergy, he right away reassured me that no gluten would come in contact with my food. He then showed me what items I was able to eat due to my allergy. The food was great and I had no issues with my allergies. I will definitely be coming back here again! read more

Hector and Junior were so hospitable! They brought me my food very quick and made sure my coffee and drinks were always full. Not to mention I was there during their peak hours. First watch has Really good service and the drinks are delicious! I really enjoyed their food. We sat outside and it was nice and comfy. They have a really great atmosphere. I recommend coming here if you want some healthy choices for your next lunch date. Prices were good too read more

Great staff that is super friendly and welcoming. The menu is nice with many different options. The cost is a bit high for Downtown Tempe Mill Ave, but not too outrageous or anymore than some of the other places to eat. Great atmosphere with comfortable seating. read more
