We've been to this location once before, though most of our visits are usually to the McDowell location in Avondale. This time, we ordered two identical breakfast meals, which included pancakes that we asked to have served on separate plates. We also added a side of toast. The meal took quite a long time to arrive, and while the server checked in to say it wouldn't be much longer, the food eventually came out missing one pancake and the toast. Unfortunately, both meals were lukewarm at best--closer to cold--so we started eating before they became completely inedible. When another server later brought the missing pancake and toast, I let her know about the cold food and asked if the pancake could be remade. I also requested that the toast be removed from our bill, since we had already eaten the eggs. The server was apologetic, but nothing further was done to address the situation. Sadly, the experience left us disappointed, and we won't be returning to this location again. read more

Disappointed with the service at this location. I picked up a to-go order only to get home and realize half of it was missing. When I drove back to get the rest of my food, I was met with a very dismissive attitude from a staff member named Anthony. He was the guy in glasses taking names as you enter the restaurant. ​Instead of an apology for the mistake, he had the nerve to tell me, 'Maybe you didn't grab the other bag,' while pointing to a separate bag with my name on it that had been sitting on the other side of the station. If the pick-up process is meant to be 'help yourself,' that was never made clear--but regardless, the rude attitude when I was just trying to get the food I paid for is unnecessary. I arrived to this new location at about 1pm on a Monday. It wasn't very busy, but it took awhile to get greeted and seated. A young man wearing a First Watch Tee finally noticed me, but didn't say hello or ask if he could help, just gawked awkwardly. Things got much better once I was seated. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu. I decided on the Salmon Benedict and a said of Million $ bacon. The bacon was a bit sweet for me, but that's just my preferences. It was crisp and flavorful. The Salmon Benedict was very solid. Tasty tart hollandaise and perfect poached eggs with a reasonable portion of lox. It's a bit pricey, but not insane and I enjoyed the experience enough that I'm sure I'll be back. read more

My sister and her husband wanted to take me & mom out for breakfast and this was their favorite place and I can see why. At the entrance we were immediately greeted and asked if we could get a table outside since it was a beautiful sunny day. Shortly after we ordered some of their drink specialties. I had the Red Medicine and it was very refreshing! The menu looked good and we wanted to try some of their side dishes along with our regular meal, so we ordered the cinnamon roll, a single pancake, and waffle and shared it. The cinnamon roll had some good sprinkles on it and was pretty good. I think the favorite was the pancake. The pancake had a cornmeal type texture which we all enjoyed. The waffle was good too, light and crisp. I ordered the works omelet and it was good! I also enjoyed the million dollar potatoes that came with it - so good! My sister had the frittata and her husband had the double crunch tacos while mom enjoyed the elevated egg sandwich. Over all, it was good food, good service and a great atmosphere, I hope to come back and have breakfast here again. Hopefully, if you visit this place, you'll enjoy the experience as well. I love First Watch and have waited patiently for this location to open. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down for me. Service was less than stellar and we waited and waited before our waiter finally showed up. I was bummed to find they had no seasonal menu because they were new, he said they weren't doing them yet. We ordered the breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwich which were both great. The location was clean but felt a bit smaller than other locations. I think Ill wait a few more months to return to see if they got the kinks out. read more

This is a newer First Watch located right off the 303/Waddell interchange in Surprise. This location was very busy on a Wednesday with a 20-minute wait for a table. Well worth the 30 minute wait. The food was great. I ordered the summer strawberry tres leches French toast with a side of seasoned potatoes. My husband ordered The Works omelette with toast and potatoes. The potatoes were chunky, lightly seasoned and crispy. They were so good! The French toast was amazing. It had a dulce de leche sauce ( could have used more:) and gingerbread crumbles. The crumbles elevated the dish. It went perfect with the strawberries. I will be trying that at home. The omelette was well cooked and tasty. Can't wait to go back and try something else. My only "complaint " is that it is very loud. It's not easy to have a conversation but it's not a deterrent. We've been dining at First Watch for years at different locations in Arizona. The last two times we have been to the Surprise location the food has been well below par. Yesterday I had chimchera steak hash. Looked good on the plate but had very little taste and extremely salty. I think it's time we moved on , there's plenty of alternatives locally. Ordered delivery a couple of times from this location using Uber Eats. Both times food was tampered with. Called the store and asked them if they could staple the top of the bag or put more tape on it to prevent tampering, but they declined. Don't know if it's the store personnel or delivery carriers but seems still store responsibility to provide temper proof bags. read more

Today was the VIP opening day and I was totally impressed! First off, the layout and interior are perfect. Wide open layout with a large bar, a good sized patio, and an outdoor bar as well. Being their first day open, I expected the experience to be a little bumpy but it was actually the opposite. The servers and staff were very friendly and on top of everything. Food came out quick, our additional requests were accommodated immediately, drinks were refilled timely, and the food was great! Everything was very fresh and high quality. First visit to this location and we will happily return. We both had Eggs Benedict, I had the classic while my wife (whose birthday we were celebrating ) had it with Salmon. Both were very well done and, the use of a ciabatta base instead of English muffin helped absorb the hollandaise, which was good and rich. All in all a very good experience read more

I tried, i really wanted to like this place but after 3 trys with unsanitary dishes...i gave up. Lost my appetite. Tried to bill me for the coffee in a dirty cup that I didnt even drink too. My husband and I went there the morning of July 8, we love going there. The food was great, our server Simone was awesome. However to us the first point of contact makes a big difference in the friendliness of any establishment. Your hostess that morning does need training in customer service. We were the third in line and we notice as friendly as the others before us was, your hostess made us feel like we were a bothersome to be there. No smile, no friendly greeting and would not look at us in the eye. Maybe it's the generation, the lack of respect. We didn't even see a manager walking around to greet customer and to see if everything was okay. Then the cashier was also as cold as ice. It doesn't hurt to give a little smile and be a little friendly. Maybe it's the fault of the management of improper training. But then again it could be the younger generation who's there just to collect a paycheck. Horrible place! Went this morning to the one off of Bell in Surprise. Waited along time for table. Put us outside. Table next to us not cleaned up and a bunch of dirty pigeons eating off the plates. Nobody came by to offer us water etc. We were sitting for at least 30 minutes again with nobody coming by our table. To parties walked in after us and both tables got immediate attention. I complained and asked for a manager and nobody came out. After 30 minutes we got up and walked out. Never again will I go there. read more

I really enjoyed my experience. They had just recently opened but I didn't feel any of the growing pains experience. The food was reasonably priced and my wife and I finished our entire meals. They have some unique mixed drinks to try out, my wife got the purple one, some lavender lemonade, and she loved it. The server was cheerful and chatted with us, even though she was really busy and the restaurant, while busy, was well kept and bright. Kind of disorganized upon entrance. We were seated outside per our request with one other customer on the patio. Server came out twice to check on the only other customer without a word to us. A family of four was seated shortly after and waited on immediately. We got up and walked out after 10 minutes of no service and got a bagel next door. Our server, Simone hit every touch point and could not have been more friendly, knowledgeable or more efficient. As a forty year veteran in the customer service industry I can tell you they work as a team and are very, very well trained. Each employee we made contact with seemed to genuinely love their job and were appreciative of our patronage, and these days that is really saying something!! Whenever my family is visiting my sister and her family in Surprise, we go to First Watch. We actually got it delivered this time; we didn't feel like dragging the kids out in the heat. The food arrived piping hot and was delicious as always. The Mexican street corn burrito was excellent! I got the pesto chicken quinoa bowl, a personal favorite of mine. The kids got pancakes and bacon and eggs and loved it. This place is fun and has healthy yet savory options to choose from. We only wish there was a location out here in California!
